T-Series Boards Kartik Aaryan's Captain India as Co-Producer; Shimit Amin Set to Direct
T-Series has officially come on board as a co-producer for the Kartik Aaryan-starrer Captain India. As first reported by Bollywood Hungama, the production giant joins the project alongside original producer and writer Harman Baweja, adding significant muscle to the film's scale and reach. The film also marks the high-profile return of director Shimit Amin, who is stepping back into the director's chair after a 17-year hiatus. Amin is widely respected for helming the cult classic Rocket Singh: Salesman Of The Year (2009) and the legendary sports drama Chak De! India (2007). The collaboration between Kartik Aaryan and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series has become a reliable success formula in Bollywood. The duo has previously delivered four massive hits: Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018), Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019), Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022), and the recent blockbuster Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (2024). By joining Captain India, T-Series aims to further capitalize on Aaryan's box-office pull and the creative vision of Shimit Amin. According to sources, the pre-production phase is in full swing, with location recces already completed. Captain India adds to an already crowded and impressive lineup for Aaryan. The actor is currently filming the creature-feature Naagzilla with director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. He also has an upcoming project with director Kabir Khan in his kitty, reports indicate the duo are reuniting for a new, high-budget sports-adventure film which is scheduled to go on floors in February 2026.With T-Series providing the production backbone and Shimit Amin's return to direction, Captain India is now positioned as a top-tier cinematic event for 2026.
