Milind Soman's Sci-Fi Superhero of 90s 'Captain Vyom' Set To Return In New Avatar

Mumbai, July 9 - The Brewing Thoughts Pvt Ltd. is bringing the golden era of Indian entertainment back, this time on the big screens. As 90s kids, we have grown up watching some of the most popular television shows like "Shakitmaan", "Vikram Aur Betaal", "Byomkesh Bakshi", and "Captain Vyom", among others, which made our "Bachpan" remember. ## It is difficult for 90s kids to explain to today's kids what kind of shows we grew up watching. But, there will not be any more need to explain as some of those shows are making their way back in whole new different avatars and hopefully with the same charm and vibes, thanks to the production house Brewing Thoughts Pvt Ltd.## Earlier this year, Brewing Thoughts Private Limited announced the Shaktimaan film trilogy with Sony Pictures International Productions, and now, it has acquired the adaptation rights of another popular 90s show, "Captain Vyom". The show will be made into a five-part film as well as five-part web series in a modern avatar. ## The original sci-fi superhero show, created by filmmaker Ketan Mehta, featured Milind Soman in the title role and the show aired on Doordarshan from 1998-99. Ketan Mehta is looking super excited about this development and looking to take Captain Vyom forward into the millennium. ## "I am really excited. For me, Captain Vyom is an Indian-origin superhero for a global audience. And it's time to reinvent when India is dreaming of its space in the new century. A Biopic Of Freedom Fighter Usha Mehta, 'Freedom Radio' Is Announced

Mumbai, May 20 - Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha has joined hands with Ketan Mehta ("Manjhi – The Mountain Man") to announce the biopic of freedom fighter and Gandhian, Usha Mehta. The movie, titled "Freedom Radio", will be produced by Sinha's Benaras Mediaworks with Mehta who will also be directing it.## Usha Mehta was a Gandhian and freedom fighter who ran an underground pirate radio called Congress Radio during the Quit India Movement and gave tough time to the British Government. Post-Independence, Usha Mehta was conferred with Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian award in India.## In a media statement about the biopic, Ketan Mehta said, "Developing this story has been pure joy. Sifting through her personal diaries, and delving into my own memories have been a crucial part of my work. I couldn't have found a more supportive producer and collaborator than Anubhav who understands the vision of his filmmaker".## Talking about collaborating with Ketan Mehta, Anubhav Sinha said, "It's been a sheer joy working with Ketan on this project. In 1942 when Mahatma Gandhi announced the Quit India movement, the final battle of the Indian freedom struggle, the British government arrested all the top leadership including Gandhi, (Sardar Vallabhbhai) Patel, (Maulana Abul Kalam) Azad, and (Jawaharlal) Nehru in a midnight swoop. The movement was rendered leaderless. All news was blocked and censored, all protests were banned. That is when the youth of India came forward to take charge and lead the freedom movement forward".## Last year, it was reported that filmmaker Karan Johar will be producing Usha Mehta's biopic.
