Producer Provides Fresh Clarification On Jr. NTR's Devara 2

Hyderabad, January 28 - Amid persistent rumours surrounding the fate of director Koratala Siva's Devara: Part 2, the film's producer has provided a fresh update. There have been reports that the sequel might be shelved or indefinitely delayed, but the producer has denied the rumours, stating that the movie is well on track. According to the producer Sudhakar Mikkilineni (via India Today), the apparent silence around Devara 2 was largely due to scheduling complexities and the makers' decision to take ample time before moving into the next phase. With Jr. NTR currently committed to other projects, the team wants to ensure that the sequel gets the required scale, preparation, and focused production timeline, rather than rushing into it. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) He said, "We will begin shooting for it in May this year. We plan to release it next year, in 2027. The film will surely be another blockbuster hit". The clarification also comes in the wake of mixed narratives following Devara: Part 1, which opened to strong box office numbers but sparked divided opinions on the creative front. The makers are reportedly keen on using the feedback constructively, ensuring that Devara 2 ups the stakes in terms of storytelling, action set-pieces, and emotional depth. The first part of the movie, released in 2024, was a box office success with a worldwide collection of 428 crores gross. Stay tuned...

Is Jr. NTR's Devara 2 Shelved? Here Is The Latest Update

Hyderabad, November 27 - Superstar Jr NTR's much-anticipated Devara 2, which was once announced with immense fanfare, has reportedly hit a major roadblock amid the continuous delay. According to recent industry chatter and multiple media reports, the sequel to the hit film may have been shelved, leaving fans confused and seeking clarity from the makers. Over the last couple of months, there have been rumours that Jr. NTR is not convinced of the idea director Koratala Siva has been trying to shape in the script. What was initially pitched as a two-part epic now seems to be stuck in limbo, with no concrete movement on the production front. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The first film, directed by Koratala Siva, generated solid buzz before release, went on to become a box office hit with over 400 crores gross collection. Part 2 was confirmed with the first film, but according to the Telugu media reports, the makers have decided to shelve the sequel. Adding to the uncertainty, Jr NTR's packed schedule — which includes multiple high-profile commitments — is said to have made the sequel's development even more complicated. Reports also suggest that creative differences over the narrative of the second part contributed to the project being put on hold. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) For fans, the confusion lies in the contrast between earlier official promotions and new media rumours. On the film's first anniversary, the team confirmed Devara 2, generating excitement about the continuation of the story. However, recent updates indicate that the project may no longer be a priority, with insiders hinting that the sequel is unlikely to happen. At the moment, neither Jr NTR nor the producers have issued a formal statement about the fate of Devara 2. Until then, the film remains stuck between an official announcement and the growing assumption that the sequel has been quietly shelved. Fans continue to wait for clarity, hoping the makers address the speculation soon. Meanwhile, Jr. NTR will next be seen in director Prashanth Neel's period action drama Dragon, which is currently in production. The RRR star also has a film with Trivikram Srinivas, which will start by Neel's movie. Stay tuned...

Top 10 Biggest South Indian Opening Day Grossers At The Hindi Box Office: Pushpa 2 Rules As Kantara Chapter 1 Takes 8th Spot

Mumbai, October 3 - South Indian cinema continues to make a mark at the Hindi box office, and the latest to enter the race is Rishab Shetty's Kantara Chapter 1, which has taken a good start in the dubbed version, scoring 18.50 crore opening day. Among the top 10 biggest South Indian openers at the Hindi box office, Kantara 2 has secured the 8th spot. At the very top of the list is Allu Arjun's Pan India phenomenon, Pushpa 2: The Rule, which rewrote box office history with a mammoth 70 crore opening day in Hindi, which is a record. This number is far ahead of every other South release and firmly establishes Pushpa 2 as a true pan-India monster. Kannada superstar Yash's KGF Chapter 2 follows next with 54 crore net opening, a record that held strong until Pushpa 2 arrived. SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster Baahubali 2: The Conclusion sits at number 3 with 41 crores net. It is worth noting that it was the Baahubali franchise, which originally opened the floodgates for South dominance in Hindi belts. Prabhas, easily the biggest South Indian star in the Hindi market, makes multiple entries in the top 10, with Saaho making it to the top 5, followed by his Kalki 2898 AD. Rajamouli's RRR, along with superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's sci-fi extravaganza 2.0, also entered the list with solid openings. Breaking into this power-packed list at No. 8, Kantara Chapter 1, which is the second Kannada movie in this coveted list. Unlike mass-heavy commercial entertainers like KGF or Pushpa, Kantara thrives on its unique storytelling, cultural rootedness, and mysticism, yet still managed to draw audiences in large numbers on day one. Prabhas' Salaar Part 1 - Ceasefire, followed by Ram Charan's Game Changer, and Jr. NTR's Devara Part 1, take the remaining spots in the list. The last two are the only films with less than 10 crores net openings in the list in the Hindi version.
