The movie starred Nani and Shraddha Srinath in the lead roles while Sathyaraj, Sampath Raj, Jayaprakash, Rao Ramesh, Viswant Duddumpudi, and Sanusha have played supporting roles.## Jersey is a story about an ex-cricketer named Arjun who gives up on his dream and marries his girlfriend Sarah. But when his son asks him for an Indian cricket team jersey for his birthday, Arjun who's on a suspension from his government job decides to pick up the bat again at the age of 36. Later the story tells about how he achieved his dream and fulfill his son's wish.## Nani has played the role of the cricketer Arjun while Shraddha Srinath plays his wife and Sathyaraj his mentor. The film was a huge hit at the box office and won multiple awards at the different award shows. ## After the success of the movie, a Hindi remake was announced in October last year with Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur to lead the film while Gowtam Tinnanuri taking the director's sheet again. It was recently when one of the leading actresses of Bollywood Deepika Padukone roped in for Prabhas starrer upcoming untitled movie called as Prabhas 21. However, it was not easy for the makers to bring Deepika on board as she put up a "very strong resistance". But makers were keen to have her on board and they made her an offer she couldn't resist.## According to a report in a leading portal stated, "Apparently Deepika these days, asks for remuneration on a par with what the leading man of a film gets. She rightly feels she has earned herself a place of gender equality in her profession". ## The report suggests that despite not getting an equal fee to Prabhas (he is paid close to Rs. 50 crores), Deepika is being paid close to Rs. 20 crores which makes her the highest-paid actress in the history of Indian cinema. ## Interestingly, the role of the female protagonist in the Prabhas starrer was not "all that substantial" to begin with. The government of Tamil Nadu has brought some happiness to the owners of cinema halls after the government has issued an amendment which stated that theaters will be opened soon. However, there is no clear indication when they will be opened but the order says that as the lockdown is opening up in phase manner, the cinemas too will open shortly. ## It has been almost two and a half months since the theaters are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic and the nationwide lockdown.
