Ram Pothineni's 'Double iSmart' Worldwide Theatrical Business Details

Hyderabad, August 14 - Telugu star Ram Pothineni's much-awaited sci-fi action drama film Double iSmart is finally hitting the big screen on August 15 and the movie is looking to make big at the box office during the long holiday weekend due to Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan.## Directed by Puri Jagannadh and also starring Sanjay Dutt and Kavya Thapar, Double iSmart has managed to fetch record theatrical business for Ram Pothineni-starrer. According to T2BLive, the sequel's worldwide theatrical business has been valued at 48 crores and it will need to score around 80 crores gross to emerge as a box office hit.## In Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), the theatrical rights of Double iSmart have been locked at 39 crores, including 15.50 crores for the Nizam area, 6 crores for Ceeded and 17.50 crores for Andhra regions. Outside Telugu states, the film's business is 6 crore while overseas business is 3 crore. ## Double iSmart is the sequel to iSmart Shankar which was a big box office blockbuster. Hyderabad, August 12 - Superstar Mahesh Babu's Murari has become the record Telugu re-release grosser after the excellent opening weekend at the worldwide box office. ## Directed by Krishna Vamsi, Murari was re-released on August 9 on Mahesh Babu's 49th birthday and it scored approximately 5.25 crores worldwide on its opening day. The movie remained solid on Saturday to score another approximately 1.85 crores gross. ## On Sunday, the collection further dropped but it was solid with approximately 90 lakh which took its total re-release worldwide cume to 8 crores gross. In India, it has minted approximately 7.30 crores while overseas collection is 70 lakh.## As said, Murari's re-release collection of 8 crores is now the highest for any Telugu re-release title, surpassing Pawan Kalyan's Kushi which scored around 7.50 crores worldwide. Hyderabad, August 11 - Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's 2001 romantic drama thriller film Murari was re-released on August 9 and scored one of the biggest openings for a Telugu re-release title. ## Directed by Krishna Vamsi, Murari grossed approximately 4.75 crores in India and 5.25 crores worldwide on its first day of re-release, and continuing this momentum, the movie remained rock solid on its second day as well. ## On its second day (Saturday), the movie minted approximately 1.75 crores gross collection at the domestic box office. This takes the movie's total domestic collection to approximately 6.50 crores, and including 60 lakh overseas gross, the movie has scored 7.10 crores worldwide in the 2 days of its re-release.## Among the recent Telugu re-release films, Murari is already the second-biggest-grosser, as per the Telugu box office portal T2BLive. Hyderabad, August 8 - Actor Ram Pothineni and director Puri Jagannadh reunited for the sequel to their blockbuster movie iSmart Shankar. Scheduled to be released on August 15, Double iSmart also features Sanjay Dutt in his Telugu debut and Kavya Thapar in prominent roles.## Double iSmart is an important movie for both Ram Pothineni and Puri Jagannadh and they seem to have gone all out for this mass entertainer just like the first part. It is revealed that the sequel has been censored with an A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) due to strong violence and dialogues. ## The sequel will be lengthier than the first part with approved theatrical runtime of 2 hours and 42 minutes (162 minutes). iSmart Shankar clocked 2 hours and 21 minutes which made it a neatly packed entertainer. Mumbai, August 6 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has become the 4th highest-grossing movie ever at the Indian box office, beating megastar Shah Rukh Khan-led 2023's mega-blockbuster Jawan. ## The domestic box office collection of Kalki 2898 AD has crossed 760 crores gross (640 crores net) in all languages after 40 days, which takes it past the entire run of Jawan's 760 crores gross. At the time of writing this piece, Kalki has surpassed Jawan in terms of both net and gross collection. ## The Hindi version of Kalki 2898 AD is leading the pack with approximately 350 crores gross (290 crores net), followed by the Telugu version with 335 crores gross while Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions have grossed around 75 crores so far.## As said, Prabhas' Baahubali 2 will remain the biggest domestic grosser with a mighty 1417 crores gross (1030 crores net), followed by KGF: Chapter 2, and RRR at the second and third with 1001 crores gross (860 crores net), and 916 crores gross (782 crores net), respectively. Hyderabad, August 5 - Director Prashanth Neel and superstar Jr. NTR are teaming up for the first time for an action drama film, tentatively titled Dragon. The film was announced a couple of years back but due to the other commitments of both the director and actor, the development of their maiden collaboration was delayed.## Over the past couple of months, there have been major talks regarding which film would Prashanth Neel be taking among Prabhas-fronted Salaar 2 and NTR-starrer. There were reports that Neel might go ahead with Salaar 2 as Dragon may need more time in the pre-production before taking in on floors.## According to the latest reliable reports, director Neel is proceeding with Jr. NTR and the movie will officially be launched on August 9 with Pooja Ceremony in Hyderabad. Though there is no clarity on Salaar 2 yet, the latest development indicates that Prabhas-starrer may not start soon.## Dragon will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers and it is easily one of the most anticipated Pan India movies in development. It has been difficult for Telugu movies to sustain for a longer period at the box office in recent times but the Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic has been defying odds to hold its ground. ## The movie scored approximately 65 lakh net collection on its 6th Friday (37th day), dropping under 50% drop from the 5th Friday which is a decent hold. Though the makers announced a heavily discounted offer for the 1 week from August 2nd, it didn't make much difference as it still could have scored this collection with regular prices with a few lakhs here and there. ## The total collection of Kalki 2898 AD stands at an estimated 636.50 crores net (756 crores gross) after 37 days in all versions. The sci-fi epic has so far grossed an estimated 1042 crores at the worldwide box office and is currently the 7th highest-grossing Indian movie of all time. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD has been in theatres for nearly 5 weeks which is unlike the recent Telugu movies as most the movies have been streaming only within 4 weeks of the theatrical release. It was recently confirmed by the makers that Kalki 2898 AD won't be streaming before 8 weeks of the theatrical release.## Kalki 2898 AD will start streaming on August 22, 2024, which is 8 weeks since the film's theatrical release on June 27.
