Hyderabad, July 21 - Star Wars meets Indian mythology as the makers unveiled the first look title glimpse of the highly anticipated Indian sci-fi epic "Project K", now titled "Kalki 2898 AD". The Nag Ashwin's directorial made it to the San Diego Cinema-Con event, becoming the first Indian movie to hit Cinema-Con Hall H. ## The first look glimpse of this Prabhas-fronted epic movie offers a completely new experience altogether as far as Indian movies are concerned. Set in the future, "Kalki 2898 AD" is inspired by Indian mythology where the Kalki title is taken from one of the names of Lord Vishnu from Hinduism. ## The teaser/glimpse begins with the line "When the world is taken over by darkness, a force will arise", and shows a war-torn world in the future, where people seem to be ruled by dark forces and technology and are treated violently and brutally by the oppressor before Prabhas' makes an entry as a savior of the world. ## The teaser also offers the first look at Deepika Padukone who plays the female lead in the movie. She seems to be caught up in emotional turmoil as a recruit in the army. Hyderabad, July 19 - Baabubali star Rana Daggubati is all set to produce a magnum opus movie on Hiranyakashyap, an asura king of the daityas in the Puranic scriptures of Hinduism. The actor-filmmaker will unveil multiple projects under his Spirit Media company at San Diego Comic-Con event. ## According to Variety, the movie project "Hiranyakashyap" is being developed by Spirit Media and is set to be directed by Trivikram. The picture is inspired by Amar Chitra Katha's comics of the mythological figure, the powerful demon Hiranyakashyap, and his plan to achieve vengeance by destroying Lord Indira's kingdom.## Some of the details about the "Hiranyakashyap" movie are expected to be revealed at the Comic-Con. Tokyo, July 19 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's period action drama film "Rangasthalam" was released in Japan on July 14 and did decent business in the opening weekend on the limited screens. ## Directed by Sukumar, the all-time blockbuster movie reportedly grossed ¥10.1 million or approx. 60 lacs on its 3-day opening weekend with approx. 7200 admissions. The opening weekend collection of the movie failed to beat the opening day numbers of Ram Charan and Jr. NTR's "RRR" which grossed ¥18 million in October last year.## "Rangasthalam" was released around 70 screens in Japan and grossed 2.5 million yen on its opening day. It is expected to have a good run as the word of mouth among the Japanese audiences is super positive.## Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, "Rangasthalam" was an industry hit during its release in 2018 in Telugu. It grossed over 200 crores at the worldwide box office and became the highest-grossing film in Ram Charan as well as Samantha's career. ## Meanwhile, the all-time blockbuster period action drama Kannada movies, "KGF 1" and "KGF 2", starring superstar Yash were also released in Japan on July 14 and they combined grossed ¥11 million or 65 lacs in the opening weekend with approx. 7840 admissions.## The original KGF movie grossed ¥5.8 million (35 lacs) with 4120 admissions while its sequel earned ¥5.2 million (30 lacs) with 3720 admissions. Mumbai, July 15 - The makers of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's Pan India movie "Vrushabha" has locked the female lead cast. Directed by Nanda Kishore, who directed the hit Kannada movie "Pogaru", the film is an epic action-entertainer transcending generations. ## The makers have roped in Shanaya Kapoor and Pop Diva Zahrah S Khan to play the female lead opposite Telugu actor Roshann Meka in the movie. Hyderabad, July 9 - After shattering box office records with "KGF: Chapter 2" last year, director Prashanth Neel's next blockbuster "Salaar" with one of the biggest Indian superstars Prabhas is having huge anticipation as the release date getting nearer. ## The teaser of the movie was recently launched which has raised anticipation, not just among the fans, but also in the trade which is expecting the movie to do wonders at the box office. As the pre-release buzz has escalated, the makers of "Salaar" have reportedly started negotiating for the film's theatrical rights. ## As per the buzz in the Telugu trade, the makers are demanding as high as 190-200 crores for theatrical rights in the two Telugu states, including around 70 crores alone in the Nizam region. The asking price for the Ceded area is said to be around 35 crores while the same is around 90 crores in Andhra Pradesh, according to a report from Track Tollywood. ## The aforementioned quoted amount is in the lines of SS Rajamouli's "RRR" starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan which the movie easily covered and gave the buyers huge profit. However, in the case of "Salaar", the buyers are reportedly hesitant as a couple of recent films of Prabhas didn't do the expected business and ended up as loss ventures in Telugu states. ## There is no doubt "Salaar" will take a huge opening nationwide as the combination of Prashanth Neel and Prabhas, backed by a reputed production house which is Hombale Films, is too big to go unnoticed.
