PEN Studio Announces Hindi Theatrical Release of Nandamuri Balakrishna's Blockbuster 'Akhanda'

Mumbai, January 4 - Director Boyapati Srinu's Telugu action drama film Akhanda, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna is all set to release in the dubbed Hindi version on January 20.## "Akhanda" was originally released on December 2, 2021, and went to gross over 100 crores at the box office. It is NBK's biggest grosser and now, the film is getting its Hindi release, more than a year after the original release. ## Film producer Dr. Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios acquired the Hindi rights. Pawan Kalyan's 'Kushi' Re-Release Scores Really Well In The First 3 Days

Hyderabad, January 3 - Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan's classic blockbuster Kushi is having a very good second outing at the box office. The film was re-released recently in limited theaters and is performing better than most of the new releases. ## Directed by S. J. Suryah, "Kushi" had the biggest first day for a Telugu re-released film with a worldwide gross collection of approx. 4.30 crores. The opening-day box office numbers of "Kushi" were pretty impressive considering the fact that the movie was originally released more than 20 years ago in 2021. ## After the big first day, "Kushi" did well on the second day as well by grossing approx. 1.60 crores worldwide. It collected another apporx. 70 lakh on Monday worldwide. The total worldwide collection for "Kushi" re-release is approx. 6.60 crores, including approx. 5.70 crores from Telugu states. ## The first three days' box office collection of "Kushi" is higher than all the new released Telugu films this past weekend, speaks the volume of Pawan Kalyan's star power. Also, it is important to note that the previous biggest opening day record for a Telugu re-released movie also belonged to Pawan Kalyan whose "Jalsa" (re-released in Sept. 2022) grossed approx. 2.60 crores worldwide. ## Produced by A.M. Hyderabad, January 2 - One of the most anticipated Indian films of the year, lady superstar Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Shaakuntalam finally gets its release date after multiple delays. ## Directed by Gunasekhar, "Shaakuntalam" is a mythological love story drama film. It is made on a huge scale as one of the epic love stories ever in Indian cinema. Based on a popular play Shakuntala by Kalidasa, the film narrates the love tale of Shakuntala and her husband Dushyanta. ## Samantha Ruth Prabha plays the titular role of Shakuntala and Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, the king of Puru Dynasty along with Mohan Babu, Gautami, Aditi Balan, and Ananya Nagalla in supporting roles. Hyderabad, January 1 - Telugu star Nani celebrated the new year 2023 with the announcement of his 30th film, to be directed by debutant Shouryuv. The announcement of the movie was made official with a glimpse video. ## Tentatively titled Nani30, the movie will feature Mrunal Thakur as the female lead and this will be her first film with Nani and second in Telugu after the blockbuster film "Sita Ramam". Nani 30 will be produced by Mohan Cherukuri (CVM), Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala, and Murthy K S. ## The makers of New Year released a video, unveiling the world of #Nani30. The video shows Nani sitting on top of a building and clicking photos while discussing with his on-screen daughter about his next project. Nani says he will be shaving his beard as well as his mustache which he grew for Dasara.## The glimpse video gives the impression that the movie will be an emotional family entertainer with a different concept and father-daughter bonding is going to be the USP. Hyderabad, January 1 - Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan has proved his might at the box office again as his classic blockbuster film Kushi breaks records upon its re-release in theaters on December 31, 2022.## Directed by S. J. Suryah, "Kushi", which was originally released in 2001, got re-released on December 31st and scored a record-breaking collection at the worldwide box office on its first day. The movie records 1.65 crores gross in the Nizam area, which is the biggest ever for a re-released Telugu film. ## In Telugu states, "Kushi" grossed approx. 3.60 crores (revised) on the opening day, which is again an all-time record for a re-released film, beating Pawan Kayan's "Jalsa" which grossed approx. 2.60 crores on the first day. Worldwide, "Kushi" minted approx. 4.10 crores gross (revised), again beating "Jalsa's" 3.20 crores gross for record collection. ## Produced by A.M. It will be Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu (12 Jan.) and Ajith Kumar's Thunivu (11 Jan.) at the Tamil box office while megastar Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya (13 Jan.) and Nandamuri Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy (12 Jan.) in Telugu. ## The Telugu box office seems to be more complicated this festival season as the aforementioned Telugu films will be facing tough competition with the above-mentioned Tamil blockbuster. Mythri Movie Makers, one of the biggest production houses in Telugu, has produced "Waltair Veerayya" and "Veera Simha Reddy". ## Producer Dil Raju, the powerhouse in the Telugu industry, has produced Thalapathy Vijay's "Varisu" which will also be released in the Telugu language as "Varasudu". The maverick filmmaker's recent films - "Baahubali" films and "RRR" made a huge impact on audiences across the world and made Rajamouli arguably the biggest director in India. ## The blockbuster director has time and again spoken about his dream project which is epic Mahabharta. Speaking about the same, Rajamouli had said in one of the interviews earlier this year that he needs to learn more craft to helm this epic, and he has once reiterated that same.## During a recent interview with Deadline, Rajamouli was asked about his dream project. The filmmaker said that he wanted to direct big-scale war films for a long time and with "Baahubali", he achieved that goal, and now, "Mahabharata" is something that he would love to direct someday. ## "For a long time I wanted to do a big-scale war film, but that I have done with Baahubali, so my goal, or my dream, has been fulfilled. So, the biggest one for me would be to direct Mahabharata, the Indian epic. That would probably be a 10-year project. That would be my biggest dream. Hopefully, one day I'll do that", Rajamouli said. ## Mahabharta is one of the two major Sanskrit epics of ancient India in Hinduism, the other being the Rāmāyaṇa. Vijayendra Prasad, to develop the story on it.## "Whenever a film succeeds, as writers, me, my father, my cousin, we sit and we discuss whether it can be taken forward. There were some good ideas, but not compelling ones".## "Then, after coming to the U.S. and seeing the reaction, I was talking about my experiences to my father, and suddenly my cousin came up with an idea. I thought, "Wow, this is a great idea — this has to be developed into a script!" So, I asked my father to write a script based on that fantastic idea, and now he's in the process of developing it. Once it becomes a full script, we'll look into how to take it forward", Rajamouli told Deadline. ## Rajamouli will next be directing another Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu and for which, the shoot is expected to commence later next year.
