Ravi Teja Finally Delivers At The Box Office

Hyderabad, December 26 - It has been tough 22 months for Tollywood star Ravi Teja but the table finally turned in his favor, thanks to the action comedy film Dhamaka which is currently playing in theaters. ## Ravi Teja was the first Tollywood hero who delivered a box-office hit when cinemas re-opened in 2021. The actor's action thriller Krack, which was released in January 2021, grossed approx. 60 crores worldwide and was declared a blockbuster. ## After "Krack", Ravi Teja had to wait for his next release due to the severe covid-19 outbreak, and when his next film "Khiladi" was released in February 2022, things weren't the same this time, and the movie was bombed at the box office. He had hoped to turn the tide with "Ramarao On Duty", released in July, but it turned out to be an even bigger disaster, leaving the makers shocked. ## It was always about one good film for the actor to back in the game and it finally came in the form of "Dhamaka". The Trinadha Rao Nakkina-directed film was released during the Christmas weekend on December 23 and opened to favorable reviews and box office numbers. ## "Dhamaka" had a very good opening weekend and did really well on Monday to put approx. 33 crores gross worldwide in 4 days. It is certain that "Dhamaka" will achieve the break-even target within the first week and will turn a profit for the distributors. It is all about how far it will go at the box office which will decide its final verdict. ## Since there is no notable big Telugu release this year anymore, "Dhamaka" might be the last hit of the year for the Tollywood film industry, unless the remaining films surprise. Mass Maharaja is ending 2022 with a bang and 2023 is looking super promising for him.## Ravi Teja will next be seen playing a key role in Chiranjeevi-fronted "Waltair Veerayya", releasing on January 13. He will then headline the action thriller "Ravanasura" (7 April), which is one of the most anticipated Telugu films along with his "Tiger Nageswara Rao". The blockbuster filmmaker recently met with producers Abhishek Aggarwal and Vivek Agnihotri regarding their maiden project. ## Abhishek Aggarwal had taken to social media and announced that his collaboration with Sukumar will be never-seen-before in Indian cinema and now, according to the latest reports, Prabhas has been locked in to headline the film. ## According to Telugu360, director Sukumar recently had a meeting with Prabhas in which he pitched up an idea and the superstar loved it. Abhishek Aggarwal, the man behind recent blockbusters like The Kashmir Files and Karthikeya 2 will produce this prestigious project with Vivek Agnihotri coming on board as co-producer.## Sukumar wanted to direct Prabhas for a long time and it seems he finally has his moment to work with one of the biggest superstars of the country. Top 10 Indian Cities Where Most Number of Movie Tickets Sold On Book My Show In 2022

Mumbai, December 25 - Book My Show, the online movie ticket portal, recently revealed the top 10 movies of 2022 with the highest number of tickets sold on its platform. Yash-fronted "KGF: Chapter 2" has been the most-watched Indian film of 2022 with over 50 million footfalls in theaters. ## Apart from revealing the top 10 movies, Book My Show also revealed which Indian cities witnessed the highest number of footfalls this year. While the portal didn't reveal the number of tickets, it announced that Hyderabad sold the highest number of tickets this year on BMS. ## The Telugu film industry has had great success this year, led by SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster "RRR" along with Mahesh Babu's "Sarkaru Vaari Paata", "Bheemla Nayak", "Karthikeya 2", and "Sita Ramam" along with many others. Kannada biggie, "KGF: Chapter 2" also did excellent business in Telugu states. ## The silicon valley of India, Bengaluru was also the top contributor to the Indian film industry as BMS announced it sold the second-highest number of movie tickets in the city in 2022. The Kannada film industry has been the biggest box office contributor this year, thanks to the biggest grosser of the year "KGF 2", along with the surprise monster blockbuster "Kantara", "777 Charlie", and "Vikrant Rona". ## The Hindi film industry wasn't top of its game in 2022 but still, the key contribution from the films like "Brahmastra", "The Kashmir Files", "Drishyam 2", and "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" along with the huge contribution from the Hindi versions of "KGF 2", "RRR", and "Kantara", Mumbai scored the 3rd highest number of footfalls this year, as per BMS. The aforementioned films also attracted Delhi NCR audience as it ranked 4th in the list. ## The Tamil film industry also performed well, led by two 400+ crores grossers - "Ponniyin Selvan Part - 1" and "Vikram" this year as Chennai city scored 5th highest number of tickets sold. The next 5 cities with the most tickets sold on BMS are Pune and Kochi at number 6 and 7 while Kolkata, Coimbatore, and Vizag, is at number 8, 9, and 10, respectively. ## From the next year, Mumbai might return to the top as there are some of the biggest Bollywood films lined up to release in theaters, including "Pathaan", "Tiger 3", "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan", "Jawan", "Fighter", "Adipurush", "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan", "Animal", and "Dunki", among others. ## Stay tuned...

India's Official Oscars 2023 Entry 'Last Film Show' Gets Shortlisted; SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' Snubbed

Mumbai, December 22 - Gujarati-language coming-of-age drama film, Chhello Show (Last Film Show) has been shortlisted in the 'International Feature Film' category at the Oscars 2023. ## The "Last Film Show" was selected as India's official entry for the Academy Awards 2023 over public favorite SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster RRR. Directed by Pan Nalin, the movie will now be competing with 14 other films in the international feature film category to grab a place in the top 5 films, which will be announced on January 24.## The 'Naatu Naatu' song from "RRR" has been shortlisted in the original song category, becoming the first-ever Indian song ever to be shortlisted for the Academy Awards. However, the movie received disappointments in other categories. ## "RRR" was submitted in 15 general categories, including Best Film. It was predicted to score nominations in the Visual Effects category, but was snubbed and couldn't make it to the top 10 shortlists for the nominations. Suryah, "Kushi", which also starred Bhumika Chawla as the female lead, will be re-released on the evening of the new year 2023 (31st December) in India and overseas on a record number of screens in the 4K remastered version.## It was reported that some promotional content for Pawan Kalyan's upcoming period action drama film "Hari Hara Veera Mallu" will also be added to "Kushi" as both films are produced by AM Ratnam. Tokyo, December 13 - Superstar Rajinikanth's "Muthu's" long-standing box office record has finally been broken as SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster RRR has become the highest-grossing Indian film in Japan. ## "RRR", starring Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan has completed its 8th week at the Japan box office and has grossed ¥410 million (Rs. 24.88 crores) with 271K footfalls so far, which is also the highest for an Indian film. It has outdone Rajinikanth's "Muthu's" which had grossed ¥400 million in 1998. ## The SS Rajamouli-directed "RRR" was released in Japan in October this year and scored the biggest opening weekend for an Indian movie there. Though the numbers of "RRR" weren't as high as the makers had predicted it maintain a steady run throughout and finally topped "Muthu's" record to become the new number one Indian grosser in Japan. ## "RRR" is looking to go past ¥500 million and it was originally predicated to have this number. The movie has found appreciation wherever it has been released so far and Japan is the latest market in that list. The worldwide gross total of the movie now stands at approx. 1140 crores, which is the 4th highest for an Indian movie of all time. ## Meanwhile, apart from its box office hunt, "RRR" is also making waves in international awards and has already won multiple awards of them. The superstar teamed up with Koratala Siva for his next, tentatively titled NTR 30, and it was supposed to start production in the summer of 2022.## The pre-production of NTR 30 has been going on for quite some time now, however, the debacle result of Siva's last directorial, "Acharya" made him extra cautious as he wanted to be fully sure with the script of NTR's film before kickstarting the shoot. It was recently when he locked the final script and even started music sitting with Anirudh. ## Now, according to the latest reports, NTR 30 will officially be launched in January while the regular shoot will kickstart in February 2023.
