Dunki vs Salaar Opening Day Advance Booking Comparision In India

Mumbai, December 16 - The stage is set for the biggest box office clash of the year to cheer up the Christmas 2023 weekend in the form of Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki and Prabhas-fronted Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire, releasing a day apart on December 21 and 22, respectively. ## Dunki, a comedy-drama based on illegal immigration, marks the maiden collaboration between the two giants of Bollywood cinema, SRK and director Rajkumar Hirani. It has been one of the most-anticipated films of the year and the fans are eager to witness this magical on-screen combo in theaters. ## Telugu superstar Prabhas teamed up with Kannada filmmaker Prashanth Neel for the first time on Salaar, an A-rated action drama about two best friends who turned biggest enemies. It story of the film will be completed in two parts, with the first part titled Salaar: Ceasefire releasing on December 22nd. ## Unlike Dunki, which will be released in just one language, Salaar is a Pan India film scheduled to hit in multiple languages. The booking of both movies started opening gradually. Salaar advances had a strong start and ended on a high note, and Dunki, on the other hand, picked up well once the full-fledged advance commenced in the evening on December 16 .## Have a look at the booking status of both films as of 6 AM on December 22 - ## Dunki - The film's opening day advances finished with good numbers. It sold approximately 558.8K tickets worth around 15.50 crores gross. Though the pre-sales are nowhere near SRK's previous two movies it is still good enough for the comedy-drama genre and has set up the stage for a very good opening.## Salaar - The movie has excellent pre-sales for the opening with close to 49 crores gross in all languages, which is highest for an Indian film of 2023. It sold approximately 22.38 lakh tickets via online booking. In Hindi, the movie managed to score decent sales by selling 218.5K tickets worth approximately 5.60 crores gross. ## The bookings for both movies are strong for the respective genre and that set the stage for big openings at the box office. SRK is coming after two big blockbusters and looking all set to score a hat-trick of success with the upcoming comedy-drama. ## Dunki will be hitting worldwide theaters on December 21st and a week before, the makers have completed the censorship formalities. According to the latest reports, the film was censored today (December 15), and the CBFC has passed it with a 'U/A' certificate with the approved runtime of 2 hours and 41 minutes (161 minutes). ## Produced by Jio Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films, Dunki is based on "donkey flights", an illegal immigration entry technique. Mumbai, December 15 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's spy action thriller Tiger 3 has almost completed its box office journey and emerged as a hit with a domestic collection of around 340 crores gross and worldwide approx. 464 crores.## Directed by Maneesh Sharma, Tiger 3 was released on the day of Diwali amid huge expectations considering Salman Khan's stardom and the brand value of YRF's Spy Universe. The film took the biggest Diwali opening and went on to score a solid opening weekend in India and worldwide which ignited hopes of another massive blockbuster.## Tiger 3, however, couldn't continue the strong momentum of the holiday period in the long term and was affected by the mixed word-of-mouth which dented its chances to go well past 500 crores globally. In between, there is the Hollywood superhero biggie, "Aquaman 2" along with the mega-blockbuster holdover "Animal" which will be looking to cash in the opportunity during the Christmas weekend. ## Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is coming after two monstrous blockbusters in the form of "Pathaan" and "Jawan", and the expectations are from "Dunki" which marks his maiden collaboration with maverick director Rajkumar Hirani. "Salaar" is directed by Prashanth Neel whose last film "KGF: Chapter 2" was a massive blockbuster, especially in Hindi. ## The Dunki vs Salaar has been termed as the clash of the titans and this is leading to serious negotiations regarding screen sharing, mainly in North India where Prabhas-starrer is a serious challenge to other movies. It has become his highest-grossing film and put him in the elite league of superstars. ## The "Brahmastra" star has now reportedly confirmed his next film and the preparations for the same are said to have begun. It is known to everyone that Ranbir has been in talks with director Nitesh Tiwari to headline epic Ramayana but there was no official confirmation from the makers yet until yesterday when the actor himself reportedly confirmed the development. ## According to a claim made by an X/Twitter user, the Bollywood star has confirmed Ramayana as his next film. Ranbir will be playing the role of lord Ram while Telugu actress Sai Pallavi is roped in for the role of Sita. Kannada superstar Yash to play Raavan in this mega-budgeted epic.## The film is planned as a trilogy and the first film will go on floors by March next year with Ranbir and Sai Pallavi, according to Pinkvilla. Yash will reportedly join the shoot by July. He has an extended appearance in "Ramayana: Part 1", which is more of a story building of Ram and Sita.## The world of Ramayana has been designed by Oscar Winning VFX company, DNEG and the makers intend to introduce a new technology of filmmaking with Ramayana, and the entire test run of the shoot has been conducted multiple times. Mumbai, December 11 - Ranbir Kapoor-led action drama Animal scored a huge 87.56 crores net collection in Hindi in its second weekend, according to producer T-Series. In all versions, the mega-blockbuster minted approx. 93.70 crores net collection. ## Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal fell short of Sunny Deol-fronted "Gadar 2" which remained the biggest second-weekend grosser with approx. 90.50 crores net collection. "Animal", at once, looked like it would not only become the biggest second-weekend grosser but also become the first film to score 100 crores, but the collection on Saturday and Sunday came lower than expected to keep at number 2. ## Animal also scored the 4th biggest second Sunday and the biggest ever for an A-rated film with 33.53 crores net collection in Hindi. The first three spots are occupied by Gadar 2 (38.90 crores), Baahubali 2 (34.50 crores), and Jawan (34.26 crores) while the 5th biggest second Sunday belongs to Dangal (30.69 crores). ## As said, Animal is the first A-rated Indian blockbuster to gross 400, 500, 600, and 700 crores at the worldwide box office.
