It is seeing a jump of around 5% from the Sunday collection of 17.55 crores net. ## OMG 2 is clearly getting affected by the clash as it is getting very less chance to score in the smaller centers due to Sunny Deol-led Gadar 2 which has been attracting mass audiences like never before. The bulk of the collection of OMG 2 comes from multiplexes audiences.## The social comedy-drama film, on its fifth day/first Tuesday, scored an estimated around 18.50 crores net which takes the total collection to around 73.50 crores over the 5-day extended Independence Day weekend. YRF Unveils First Look Poster And Release Date of Vicky Kaushal and Manushi Chhillar's 'The Great Indian Family'

Mumbai, August 14 - Yash Raj Films' long-awaited comedy-drama film "The Great Indian Family", starring Vicky Kaushal and Manushi Chhillar in the leading roles finally has a release date in theaters. ## Directed by "Thugs of Hindostan" fame Vijay Krishna Acharya, "The Great Indian Family" has been in production since 2021, but it was delayed due to the covid-19 pandemic as well as some other reasons.## Now, the movie has been confirmed to hit cinemas worldwide on September 22, 2023, two weeks after Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan", and a week before Prabhas-fronted "Salaar". The release date was announced through a video featuring Vicky Kaushal.## In the video, Kaushal tells us what "family" means as he compares a family to a melodious classical Indian song. Mumbai, August 14 - The Producers Guild of India and Multiplex Association of India have jointly issued a statement on the historic box office weekend of August 11 to August 13 in India which show collections topping 400 crores gross.## The statement read the August 11-13 weekend proved to be the all-time biggest single weekend in the 100+ years of Indian cinema history in terms of gross box office collection. The same weekend also drew 2.10+ crores in admissions in theaters, which is also the highest combined footfalls in the last 10-year history. ## Shibasish Sarkar, president of GUILD, said in the statement, "Mainstream storytelling executed in the right way has resulted in the box office records being shattered. The turnout at theaters has infused a new energy in our industry, audiences are responding in numbers we have not seen for a long time".## Kamal Gianchandani, president of MAI, added, "It was a historic weekend which proves once again that India loves going to cinemas to see great movies. This weekend is also an undeniable demonstration of cinemas being the ultimate place to be a part of a shared experience. This weekend shows that movies and cinemas are back in a big, big way".## The biggest contributor to this historic collection during the said weekend was Sunny Deol's period action drama film "Gadar 2" which grossed a huge 159 crores, followed by superstar Rajinikanth's "Jailer" which grossed minted approx. 120 crores, Akshay Kumar's "OMG 2" with approx. 51 crores, and Chiranjeevi's "Bholaa Shankar" which contributed approx. 31 crores. ## Meanwhile, the same weekend also created history for PVR Cinemas across the country. The Hindi-language box office was particularly on fire, and eventually, scored the biggest single-day ever on August 13, Sunday. ## The three Bollywood films running in theaters currently, "Gadar 2", "OMG 2", and "Rocky And Rani Ki Prem Kahani" combined scored approx. 73.50 crores net (~87 crores gross) which is the biggest single-day collection by Bollywood movies ever, besting the previous record of 68 crores by Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" earlier this year.## All three aforementioned movies clocked massive occupancies throughout the day yesterday with Sunny Deol-led "Gadar 2" going on to record a near-perfect 96% occupancy in the evening shows, the highest tracked occupancy ever for a Bollywood movie. The movie faced capacity issues in many cinemas as it scored one of the biggest single-day collections in Indian cinema.## Gadar 2: The Katha Continues scored approx. 52 crores net (official data awaited) on Sunday (August 13) which is the second biggest first Sunday of all time for a Bollywood title, behind SRK's "Pathaan" (68 crores). The 3-day opening weekend of the latest blockbuster clocked an excellent approx 135 crores net, which is the second biggest of all time. ## OMG 2, the Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam-starrer social comedy-drama also recorded its biggest day so far on Sunday with a net collection of approx. 17.50 crores (official awaited). The 3-day opening weekend of the movie is approx. 43.50 crores net. ## Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, also remained rock solid on its 3rd Sunday and clocked approx. 4 crores net. Directed by Karan Johar and starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, RRKPK has already crossed 100 crores net and the third Sunday collection takes its total cum to approx. 131 crores net.## The coming Tuesday (August 15), will most likely topple the biggest single-day collection record for Bollywood. The combined 3-day weekend of the aforementioned movies clocked an impressive approx. 188.50 crores net.##

The jump today for "OMG 2" is around 15% which is good as the movie is having less chance in small centers due to the competition.## The early estimates suggest the net collection of the movie to be around 17.50 crores on its third day/first Sunday. The movie scores an increase in multiplexes while mass centers remain more or less the same. The final collection today may vary a little bit either way depending on mass centers.## The 3-day opening weekend of "OMG 2" is approx. 43.50 crores net and it will most likely hit the 50 crores mark tomorrow. It will have the big day on Tuesday, August 15 on which the movie could score its biggest day as a 5-day Independence Day weekend headed for 70 crores (+/-) which is a good result.## "OMG 2" in a solo release could have easily gone past 100 crores net in the 5-day weekend. The sequels to cult blockbusters, Sunny Deol's "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" and Akshay Kumar's "Oh My God - OMG" have lighted up the Independence Day week along with holdover "Rocky Aur Rani Kai Prem Kahani".## On Saturday (August 12), the aforementioned three films were breathing fire at the box office and brought in over 62.08 crores net collection, including a 69% contribution by "Gadar 2: The Katha Continues" alone, followed by 25% from "OMG 2" and 6% by "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani".## Have a look at the detailed collection of the aforementioned three movies so far (till August 12) -## Gadar 2 - The Sunny Deol-led period action drama sequel had an excellent second day (first Saturday) at the domestic box office with a net collection of mammoth 43.08 crores. It was the third biggest second day and second biggest first Saturday in Hindi language of all time. The movie had an opening day of 40.10 crores net as the total collection of the movie reached 83.18 crores net in two days, becoming the highest-grossing movie for Sunny Deol. The worldwide collection of the movie stands at approx. 108 crores gross.## OMG 2 - The sequel to 2012's movie was up against a giant like "Gadar 2", still, it manages to remain strong and eventually scored a big jump of around 50% on its second day. The Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam-starrer movie netted 15.30 crores on Saturday, after a decent opening day of 10.26 crores net. The collection of OMG 2 is nowhere near Gadar 2, but it has faired much much better than a few of the recent movies of Akshay and is in very good positive to emerge a big hit. The total India collection of the movie is 25.56 crores while the worldwide collection is approx. 35 crores gross in two days.## Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani - The Karan Johar's directorial movie is in its third week and it managed to remain solid in the third weekend so far despite the competition with Gadar 2 and OMG 2. On its third Saturday, RRKPK scored 3.70 crores net collection, showing a jump of approx. 57% from Friday. The total net collection of the movie reached 126.83 crores while the worldwide collection stands at approx. 260 crores in 16 days. Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, RRKPK will emerge as a box-office hit. ## The aforementioned three movies have so far scored approx. 115 crores net in the ongoing weekend, starting from August 11 and they will be eyeing to finish the weekend (August 11-13) around 190 crores net combined.
