Award-Winning Malayalam Director Mahesh Narayanan To Make Hindi Film Debut With Phantom Hospital

Mumbai, August 31, 2021: Award-winning Malayalam filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan, known for movies like Mālik, C U Soon, Take Off, Nayattu, among others, is all set to make his Hindi film debut as a director with the movie titled "Phantom Hospital". ## Based on an unprecedented investigation into the Indian healthcare system, "Phantom Hospital" will be produced by Priti Shahani, the acclaimed Bollywood producer behind pathbreaking movies such as Talvar, Raazi, and Badhaai Ho in association with the award-winning investigative journalist and author, Josy Joseph's Confluence Media. ## "Phantom Hospital" story and screenplay is written by Akash Mohimen and Mahesh Narayanan. The thriller film also marks the debut of Priti Shahani's new production house, Tusk Tale Films, in the market. According to the latest reports, the Dilwale actor will kick start shooting for Atlee's yet-untitled film in September in Pune. While the movie is yet to be announced, reports say that Atlee's film with SRK is to be announced officially on the first day of production. ## It is the first time when SRK is teaming up with director Atlee in his Hindi directorial debut. Mumbai, August 29, 2021: Earlier in January this year, actor Vicky Kaushal reunited with the team of Uri: The Surgical Strike for an ambitious science-fiction superhero film, The Immortal Ashwatthama. The movie was expected to commence shooting in the second half of 2021, but the second covid-19 wave spoiled the party. ## Recently, it was reported that the movie has been put on hold indefinitely due to budget issues. It was also said that producer Ronnie Screwvala had invested Rs. 30 crores loss on the pre-production work but now the investment has gone for a toss as the makers were not able to take the movie on floors due to various issues. Being an ambitious sci-fi film that needs a lot of VFX work, the budget of the film was increasing, and keeping that in mind, it was reported that the makers shelved the project. ## However, the producer Screwvala has now clarified that the movie has not been shelved but has been postponed for another six to nine months. In a statement, Ronnie Screwvala said that in the final draft of the script, the ambition of the movie and budget did not match, plus the uncertainty due to covid-19, didn't help either. ## The producer further said in the statement that keeping all things in mind, he along with Vicky Kaushal and director Aditya Dhar has decided to push the movie for another 6 to 9 months, for which, the leading lady of the film Sara Ali Khan also agreed. Though Malhotra was doing good before Shershaah, his career is expected to boost like nothing else after his once-in-a-lifetime performance. ## Now, according to the latest reports, Sidharth is again collaborating with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. The unpreceded success of Shershaah has made Karan Johar sign Sidharth for one more film, which is said to be an aerial action film. The yet-untitled film is reportedly being planned on a huge scale and will see Malhotra in a never-seen-before action avatar. ## Pushkar Ojha, who has previously assisted on big-scale movies like Kick, and War, will reportadly be directing the film along with Sagar Ambre, who has worked as a script supervisor on films like Dhadak, Uri: The Surgical Strike, and Mardaani 2. The duo will be making their directorial debut with Malhotra's next with Dharma Productions. ## If all goes well, the new film will mark Sidharth's 8th collaboration with Dharma Productions after SOTY, Hasee Toh Phasee (2014), Brothers (2015), Kapoor & Sons (2016), Baar Baar Dekho (2016), Ittefaq (2017), and Shershaah.
