Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi And Ranveer Singh's 83 May Opt For OTT Release

Two of the most awaited and anticipated movies, Sooryavanshi and 83 that are still holding back for a theatrical release, may now be opted for the OTT route. Reliance Entertainment CEO Shibasish Sarkar has said that in the scenario that theatres fail to open up by a certain time or audience doesn't come, then they can go for the OTT route as they don't want to push the release date furthermore.## Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Shibasish Sarkar said, "We are 100% inclined to take theatrical route. However, at the same time, we don't want to delay the release further than practically possible. That means we will not like to push release dates beyond Diwali / Christmas. So the first option is to go theatrical if cinemas open up and audiences are back".## He hinted at the possibility of the films being given a rental release, like the Disney film Mulan, which would mean that subscribers of a certain streaming platform would have to pay an amount above and beyond their regular monthly subscription to watch the films. While some of the leading actors have already worked under this production house in the past, some will collaborate with YRF for the first in which Ajay Devgn will be one of them. ## Here are some of the projects which may announce as a part of YRF50 celebration -## AJAY DEVGN and YRF - This is the first time when Ajay Devgn and YRF collaborating for a project. Reports are that Hrithik will be seen playing a whistle-blower who exposes the Godman. ## VICKY-MANUSHI and YRF - URI - The Surgical Strike fame Vicky Kaushal is going to star in a comedy film directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya (Victor) who also directed Thugs of Hindostan, and Dhoom 3. In these 15 years, I have come across many such occasions when there is a lot of pressure on me to join social media. Agencies and several brands know that I have let go deals worth crores where there was just one clause that I should be on social media", Kangana said in the video in Hindi.## She further said that "People called me 'chudail' (witch) and said mere pair ulte hain (my feet are twisted). People have taken advantage of the fact that I am not present on social media. But I still did not take to social media as I never felt any distance from my audience".## "I have always felt that if I had to say anything, why should I do so in a rudimentary way? I have said so much through my films on ‘women empowerment’ and nationalism. I would rather use an artistic way to communicate. The makers of the film have reportedly signed a deal with the Amazon Prime Video and will make the official announcement soon. ## Earlier, there were some reports that Coolie No. 1 will be among the films announced by Disney+Hotstar. However, makers decided to give a chance to the film for a theatrical release and was reportedly announced for release on the January 1, next year. ## FYI, Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Productions had earlier bought the distributions rights of the film worth INR 50 crore as the film remains in the hot list of the film's trade as the exhibitors anticipate it to generate the big cash once the movie releases upon the re-opening of cinemas. ## Talking about the film, it is a remake of the 1995 comedy film of the same name starred Govinda and Karishma Kapoor in the lead role. The movie was announced on Tuesday (August 18), and this dream project of Om Raut is said to be an adaption of Ramayana.## This mega budgeted project will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair under the banners of T-series and Retrophiles. Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam movie director Nishikant Kamat who was suffering from liver cirrhosis has succumbed to the disease at the age of 50 in Hyderabad on August 17, Monday. ## Earlier there were reports of Nishikant Kamat being stable, however, he did not show much improvement and his condition got a lot worse. The director was in a private hospital in Hyderabad and was being treated for his condition. Taking to his Instagram handle, Ranveer Singh posts a long note with some of his pictures with MS Dhoni. He recalled the time he met with MS Dhoni for the first time as an assistant director for Dhoni's add shoot in 2007/08.## Remembering his first meeting with MS, Ranveer said that he was excited to meet Dhoni despite being injured at that time. "This little gem of a photo is one of my prized possessions. It was taken around the year 2007/08 at ND Studio in Karjat. I was about 22 years old, working as an assistant director. I took up this particular job only because the ad film featured the one & only MS Dhoni. I was overworked and underpaid, but I didn’t care- I just wanted to be in His presence", the actor wrote. ## "I was even injured at the time, but I worked through the pain in the hope that as a reward for my sincere efforts, I would be granted a chance to briefly meet MSD and maybe get a photo with him. When I finally met him, I was completely awestruck. He was so humble, so down-to-earth, full of grace, and exuded an unmistakable aura of kindness. My love, respect, and reverence for him grew even stronger".## He further wrote that his next meeting with Dhoni happened after his first movie Band Baaja Baaraat when their common hairstylist, Sapna who helped him to meet Dhoni because he was a big MSD fan. ## "After I did my first movie, Sapna (who was our common hairstylist at the time) called me one day and said ‘hey I know you’re a massive MSD fan, he’s shooting at Mehboob studio, come & meet him if you’d like’. Man-oh-man! I just dropped everything and rushed to the studio to meet him! He was jovial and warm and praised my performance in BBB. It was taken around the year 2007/08 at ND Studio in Karjat. I was about 22 years old, working as an assistant director. I took up this particular job only because the ad film featured the one & only MS Dhoni. I was overworked and underpaid, but I didn’t care- I just wanted to be in His presence. I was even injured at the time, but I worked through the pain in the hope that as a reward for my sincere efforts, I would be granted a chance to briefly meet MSD and maybe get a photo with him. When I finally met him, I was completely awestruck. He was so humble, so down-to-earth, full of grace and exuded an unmistakable aura of kindness. My love, respect and reverence for him grew even stronger. After I did my first movie, Sapna (who was our common hairstylist at the time) called me one day and said ‘hey I know you’re a massive MSD fan, he’s shooting at Mehboob studio, come & meet him if you’d like’. Man-oh-man! I just dropped everything and rushed to the studio to meet him! He was jovial and warm and praised my performance in BBB. Amid the disappointment of not getting a theatrical release, Vidyut Jammwal, and Shivaleeka Oberoi starrer action thriller film Khuda Haafiz is now streaming on Disney+Hotstar from August 14. Directed by Faruk Kabir, the film also stars Annu Kapoor, Shiv Panditt, and Aahana Kumra in key roles. ## The film is inspired by true events and set during the financial crisis of 2007–2008. It is a story of a young man, Sameer Chaudhary (Vidyut Jammwal) who races against time to rescue his kidnapped wife Nargis (Shivaleeka Oberoi) from flesh traders. ## Upon the release of the film, it is getting mixed reviews from the critics and the public.
