Box Office: 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' Re-Release First Weekend Collection

Mumbai, January 6 - Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's romantic comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is all set to enter the 200 crores net club after a very good New Year opening weekend upon its re-release at the box office. ## The Ayan Mukerji's directorial re-opened in cinemas on January 3rd and scored approximately 1.20 crores net collection on its first day. It showed a 100% jump on Saturday to collect approximately 2.25 crores net and there was another solid jump of 35% on Sunday for around 3 crores net.## The blockbuster film scored approximately 6.40 crores in its latest re-release run and including last year's limited re-release collection of around 75 lakh, YJHD's total domestic cume reached 195.75 crores net. It earned 188.60 crores in its original run back in 2013.## Last year, a couple of films witnessed a good response in their re-release run and YJHD followed to same. It opened on over 750 shows which increased to around 2200 shows on Sunday. The trend indicates the movie to have a good hold on Monday and is expected to remain for a couple of weeks to come. ## YJHD was declared a blockbuster in its original run and its re-release will make sure it attain what was left in the first place, that is 200 crores net collection. Mumbai, January 4 - After a very good opening of around 1.20 crores net collection, Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's 2013 romantic-comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani scores an almost 100% jump on its second day of re-release. ## The Ayan Mukerji's directorial blockbuster had over 750 shows on the first day and with demand rising, the shows doubled on its second day at around 1600 shows. The movie minted an approximately 2.25 crores net collection on Saturday, pushing 2 two-day re-release total of the film to around 3.45 crores. ## The film has good pre-sales for Sunday which should mean another good day at the box office. It is looking for a 6+ crores net opening weekend which will take its total collection (including the original run) to around 195 crores and then break into a 200 crore club by next weekend or before. ## There are a couple of new films releasing next weekend, however, the lack of buzz for them might help YJHD to have an extended re-release run till Republic Day. Mumbai, January 4 - The long wait for Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's much-awaited action thriller Sky Force as the makers have unveiled a striking first-look motion poster. The film is directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur. ## The motion poster features Akshay Kumar and debutant Veer Pahariya in the Indian Air Force uniforms and offers a glimpse into a gripping tale of courage and dedication. The poster has an intriguing tagline which reads, "Some missions end, while others last a lifetime".## Apart from the impressive first look, the motion poster involves a patriotic song which is sung by B Praak. The singer has previously delivered a few of the biggest blockbuster songs for Akshay and this one also gives the vibes of another massive chartbuster.## Produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films in association with Jio Studios, the Sky Force trailer will be launched on January 5 during a grand event. The studio has already released 4 films of the horror-comedy universe with Stree 2 being the game-changer after the massive blockbuster success at the box office last year. ## The response the previous 4 films got at the box office made Maddock Films dream big and in that aspect, the studio has announced 8 more films in the horror-comedy universe which will be interconnected to each other. Mumbai, January 2 - Superstar Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule has achieved a crazy milestone as it has become only the third movie ever to cross 1000 crore gross collection at the worldwide box office in Hindi after superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Jawan. ## The Hindi version of this mega-blockbuster has grossed approximately 925 crores at the domestic box office and over 115 crores overseas for around 1040 crores gross globally. The movie is heading towards finishing its total run with over 1100 crores gross worldwide which will make it the biggest Hindi grosser ever. ## Overall, Pushpa 2 has minted an estimated 1675+ crores worldwide, including around 1410 crores gross in India and 266+ crores at the overseas box office in all versions. Mumbai, December 29 - The first teaser of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's action drama Sikandar was released on December 28, a day after the actor's birthday and it has generated one of the highest viewership for a Bollywood film teaser. ## Directed by AR Murugadoss, the teaser mostly received a positive reception which translated into huge viewership as it scored 41.6 million views on YouTube, becoming the second most-watched Bollywood teaser in the first 24 hours after Prabhas-fronted Adipurush which generated 69 million views. ## Sikandar is also the first teaser of a Salman Khan-starrer to score 30+ million views in the first day, beating Bharat which debuted with 21.5 million views. Mumbai, December 24 - After stealing hearts with romantic and comedy entertainers, Bollywood star Varun Dhawan is gearing up for the release of his first full-fledged actioner in the form of Baby John which is slated to hit the screens on December 25 on the occasion of Christmas. ## The film, directed by Tamil director Kalees, was easily one of the most anticipated Bollywood movies sometime back but the buzz has dipped for the last few weeks in the euphoria of Pushpa 2 - The Rule which is going great gun at the box office in Hindi. ## The advance booking of Baby John hasn't been on the expected lines but it has still managed to score a decent response with over 100K tickets sold for the opening day. As of 8 PM on December 24, the pre-sales gross for the opening is approximately 3.75 crores (including block seats) and the final advance sales heads for 4.50-5 crores gross. ## The pre-sales trend indicates the film's opening in the range of 10 crores gross, however, the Christmas holiday is expected to boost spot booking which can push the opening into the range of 13-15 crores. Pushpa 2 is the real challenge as it is dominating the mass pockets which is something Baby John also eyeing. There is also Hollywood Mufasa: The Lion King which has good pre-sales for December 25 in North belt. ## If there weren't the other two movies, Baby John could have easily aimed for a much higher opening as buzz for the movie was there to cash in the opportunity. At this point, an opening in the range of 13-15 crores looks more likely. Siddharth Anand To Direct Shah Rukh Khan's 'King'

Mumbai, December 23 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and director Siddharth Anand are set to reunite for action thriller King after delivering a big blockbuster last year in the form of Pathaan. Anand will also produce the movie with Red Chillies Entertainment. ## King, which also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Suhana Khan, was supposed to be directed by Sujoy Ghosh who has now been replaced by Anand. The shoot of the film is expected to commence in March 2025 for a grand worldwide release in 2026. ## "The prep work for this action-packed entertainer has been underway for the last 6 months, as Siddharth Anand and his team have done multiple rounds of recce all across the globe and also designed path-breaking action sequences with stunt directors of international repute", according to Pinkvilla. ## The film is written by Sujoy Ghosh with Siddharth Anand, Suresh Nair and Sagar Pandya while Abbas Tyrewala penned the dialogue.
