Mumbai, July 17 - Yash Raj Films' romantic drama Saiyaara, starring two newcomers Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda, continues to surprise with its advance booking trend. The movie seemingly had a low buzz on social media, but the booking trend is not resonating with that. ## The Mohit Suri's directorial is putting all the pre-release talks in the dustbin and has sold 1,20,000 tickets at the three national chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis) with still 12 hours left for the first show to begin, according to Himesh Mankad of Himesh Mankad of Pinkvilla. This is a historical booking for a movie featuring unknown faces. ## As of 12 PM, the film has sold around 90,000 tickets in PVR+INOX and around 30,000 tickets in Cinepolis for the first day. The final ticket sale count in PIC is expected to be around 1.75-2 lakh, which is phenomenal to say the least. ## Saiyaara Beats Housefull 5 and Raid 2 Final Advance Ticket Count At The National Chains ## Such has been the response that Saiyaara has beaten the final ticket sale count of Akshay Kumar's Housefull 5 and Ajay Devgn's Raid 2, even before the first show begin. Housefull 5 had sold approximately 95,000 tickets, while Raid 2 sold 93,000 tickets at national chains for the first day. ## The movie is now on track to beat Salman Khan's Sikandar, which sold around 1,43,000 tickets. Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava is currently the biggest pre-sales scorer for Bollywood in 2025, with around 2,25,000 tickets in PIC, and Saiyaara will be close to it by the end of the day, if not able to surpass the figure. ## Saiyaara Opening Day Box Office Expecatations ## The Hindi film industry is bracing up for an unexpected big opening, and no one has any answer as to why the movie has suddenly become the hot topic in the trade. With this sort of pre-sales, a 20 crore net opening is given, but the size of the release is not as big as some of the other movies with similar kinds of sales data. ## There is buzz in the industry that YRF is looking to increase the screens after seeing the excellent response in the pre-sales. Since the makers are bringing both films in one cut version, there have been talks about the film's theatrical runtime, as the combined runtime of both films is close to 6 hours. As per the latest update, the film has been censored with a U/A certificate with an approved runtime of 3 hours and 45 minutes. Recently, producer Shobu Yarlagadda confirmed during an interview that the final runtime of the movie would be around 3 hours and 40 minutes. And now, director Lokesh has also confirmed that he is indeed teaming up with the Bollywood superstar next year. ## Aamir Khan and Lokesh Kanagaraj Team Up For A Superhero Movie ## The project in question is in the superhero genre. Hyping the film further, director Lokesh said in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India that it is a very good script. He further said that with this film, they are aiming to reach out to the global audience, and not just the Indian audience. ## "It is a Hindi film, but made for a global audience. However, according to Aamir, his movie with the Leo director is likely to go on floors in the second half of 2026, around September or October, for a 2027 release. As confirmed by Lokesh to THR India, it will be a Hindi film that will also be released in other languages. ## What is Next For Lokesh Kanagaraj and Aamir Khan? ## Lokesh has wrapped up superstar Rajinikanth's gangster action drama, Coolie, which is scheduled to hit the big screen on August 14 this year. This film features Aamir Khan in a cameo role. After Coolie, Lokesh will start Karthi's Kaithi 2, which is a part of his cinematic universe, by the end of this year. ## The filmmakers' movie with Aamir will start after Kaithi 2. He also has Kamal Haasan's Vikram 2 and a film with Suriya's Rolex character from Vikram. He also plans to make Leo 2 with Thalapathy Vijay, which is not definite at the moment. Except for Coolie and Aamir's film, all the upcoming movies of Lokesh will be part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. ## Aamir Khan, on the other hand, was seen in the recently released comedy drama Sitaare Zameen Par, which is still playing in theatres. Vidyut Jammwal, who has been deliberate about the project, will play the role of Dhalsim, a yogi with fire-spitting abilities — a fundamentally peaceful man who fights to support his family. The character was first introduced in Street Fighter II in 1991. The project is currently in development by Legendary and distributed by Sony Pictures. The film will be directed by Kitao Sakurai. Earlier, YouTuber twins Danny and Michael Philippou of the channel RackaRacka were in talks to direct the film, but later dropped out of the movie due to other commitments. As has already been announced, Street Fighter cast will also include Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, David Dastmalchian as M.
