Hyderabad, May 31 - Superstar Mahesh Babu's Khaleja has scored an excellent opening at the worldwide box office upon its re-release on May 30. After scoring one of the biggest advances for an Indian re-release title, the movie exceeded expectations on the first day. ## The fantasy action comedy film clocked over 3 crore pre-sales for the opening day in India, and with a fantastic response on spot booking, the film scored approximately 5.75 crores gross domestically on the first day. Overseas, the cult classic grossed around 1 crore, for a worldwide start of approximately 6.75 crores. ## Among the Indian re-release titles, Khaleja scored the third biggest opening worldwide, after Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli (7.75 crore) and Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh (7+ crore). As reported earlier, the Mahesh Babu starrer shattered records and became the biggest Indian re-release grosser in North America on the opening day itself. ## Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, the movie also stars Anushka Shetty as the female lead, alongside Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Shafi, Sunil, Ali, and Subbaraju in supporting roles. Los Angeles, May 31 - Superstar Mahesh Babu's fantasy action comedy Khaleja was re-released worldwide on May 30 and opened to an excellent collection all over. The movie created a huge buzz and scored one of the biggest pre-sales for an Indian re-release title. ## Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, Khaleja has created a record at the North American box office, becoming the highest-grossing Indian re-release movie in just one day. Prathyangira Cinemas, which released the movie in North America, announced this major milestone on social media. ## The film grossed approximately $58K from premieres, and $36K on the opening day, taking the total collection to $94K. With this, it has beaten the lifetime gross collection of Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh, which minted approximately $66K, to become the biggest Indian re-release grosser in NA. ## Khaleja will become the first film to cross the $100K mark in NA, and this will be a huge result for the movie. Ajay Devgn's 'Drishyam 3' Locks Release Date

Mumbai, May 30 - Ajay Devgn is all set to return as Vijay Salgaonkar in the third instalment of the family crime thriller, Drishyam. Amid the months of speculation, the makers confirmed Drishyam 3 via Bombay Stock Exchange disclosure. ## While the movie is currently in the scripting stage, the makers have already locked the release date. It is revealed that the highly anticipated blockbuster will be hitting worldwide theatres on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti 2026, on October 2. ## The film will be produced by Panorama Studios in association with Viacom18 Studios. Hyderabad, May 30 - Superstar Mahesh Babu's cult classic Khaleja re-release is all set to take an excellent opening at the worldwide box office after scoring one of the best pre-sales for an Indian movie. The movie is set to hit the big screen on May 30. ## Originally released in 2010, the fantasy action comedy has been remastered in 4K for its re-release, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. For the opening day alone, Khaleja has scored approximately 3.50+ crore gross advance sales domestically, including the special night shows on May 29. ## This is one of the biggest pre-sales for a re-release title in India, which indicates a big opening. On the online ticketing platform, Book My Show, Khaleja has sold nearly 200K tickets before the first show begins, and this is the highest ever for a Telugu re-release movie. The film, which was originally supposed to be titled Aashiqui 3, features Sreeleela as the female lead, also marking her Bollywood debut. ## The film was announced earlier this year with a Diwali 2025 release date. However, according to the latest report by The Hollywood Reporter India, the love story is set to be delayed to a new date, possibly to 2026. ## It is said that Anurag Basu has completed 40% of the total shoot of the film after it went on floors in March this year. Kartik, meanwhile, recently started filming for Dharma Productions' "Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri," while Basu is also busy in the post-production of his next, "Metro... Chennai, May 26 - Superstar Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagraj have teamed up for the first time of action drama Coolie, which is among the most-anticipated Indian movies of the year. The film, produced by Sun Pictures, boasts a solid cast which also includes Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, and Aamir Khan in key roles. ## Coolie is reportedly among the costliest Tamil movies ever with the budget of around 350 crores, according to the report by Pinkvilla. The budget includes the staggering salary of Rajinikanth and director Lokesh, along with other actors. ## As per the report, Rajini has received an upfront salary of 150 crores, which is among the highest of all time for an actor. Lokesh, on the other hand, got a pay cheque for 50 crore for the film, which is also reportedly a record for a director. ## "The remaining 150 crore have been spent on mounting the film, alongside the fees for other members of the star-cast. The total budget of Coolie excluding print and publicity is Rs 350 crore", says the report. It is understood that the makers have kept around 25 crore aside for print and publicity of the movie, making it a 375 crore budgeted title. ## Reportedly, the makers have already fetched huge non-theatrical deals for Coolie while theatrical rights are also expected to be sold for record prices. Pictures' supernatural horror thriller Final Destination Bloodlines has emerged as a success story and topped 50 crore gross at the Indian box office, becoming only the second Hollywood film of the year to do so. ## Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the film has surprised the trade since day 1 with its superb collection. It grossed approximately 39 crores in the first 8-day week. It remained solid in the second weekend to gross around 12.50 crores, for around 51.50 crores gross ($6+ million) in 11 days in India. ## As said, it is the second-highest-grossing Hollywood movie of 2025, behind just Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, which has grossed around 85 crores in 9 days so far. Bloodlines, however, was less expected to perform well, but it has done really well to surpass expectations. ## At the worldwide box office, Final Destination has minted around $187 million, including $94.5 million in North America and $92.5 million at the overseas box office. Mumbai, May 26 - Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise takes Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning to new heights at the domestic and worldwide box office. The film has shattered the franchise record to emerge as the biggest opener. ## Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, The Final Reckoning flew to a franchise best domestically (North America), internationally and globally, with $63 million, $127 million, and $190 million, through Sunday. The worldwide debut is $204 million, which includes the US Monday holiday estimates. ## The Friday to Sunday domestic total of $63 million is the biggest for the MI franchise, beating Fallout's previous franchise 3-day weekend record of $61.2 million. Interestingly, The Final Reckoning is said to be the final movie of the franchise. ## The biggest contributor to the latest blockbuster outside the domestic market is Korea, where the movie has grossed $12.7 million so far. In India, MI8 has done very well and grossed around $10 million (85 crore) in 9 days as the 4th biggest overseas market for the movie. ## It will be interesting to see whether Final Reckoning can beat the lifetime gross of 131 crores of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, which is also the highest-grossing movie of Tom Cruise in India. 'Avengers: Doomsday' Sets Up Clash With Hollywood And Bollywood Movies

Mumbai, May 23 - Marvel Studios's next Avengers movie, Avengers: Doomsday, is set to pose a major threat to local and international releases at the box office after it was postponed to December 2026 from May 1st, 2026. ## Directed by Russo Brothers, Doomsday will now be released on December 18, ahead of the Christmas weekend globally. Interestingly, Warner Bros. Pictures' sci-fi epic Dune 3/Dune: Messiah has already been announced for December 16 release, and if it holds that date, then Hollywood is set for a major box office clash. ## Not only the local movie, Doomsday, may also challenge a big Bollywood title. It was recently confirmed that superstar Aamir Khan and director Rajkumar Hirani would reunite for the biopic of Dadasaheb Phalke, also known as the Father of Indian Cinema. ## The shoot of this yet untitled movie will begin in October this year, and if reports are to be believed, the makers are eyeing a Christmas 2026 release of the movie. Another report has stated that the movie might also be released in April 2027, on Phalke's 157th birth anniversary. ## Apart from Dadasaheb Phalke's biopic, there is Maddock Films' biggest film to date, Mahavatar, which is set against the backdrop of Ramayana and is about one of the most pivotal characters of the epic, Lord Parshuram. It was announced in November last year for a Christmas 2026 release with the shoot set to commence by the end of 2025. ## If the makers go ahead with the Christmas launch, then Doomsday might pose a major threat to both Bollywood titles. Marvel movies have historically done well, especially the Avengers movies, as Avengers: Endgame is the second-highest-grossing Hollywood movie in India, and Doomsday is very much expected to set the box office on fire. ## There is still a long time to go for Christmas 2026, and with movie dynamics changing frequently, there is a chance that the box office clash might not happen.
