Los Angeles, May 23 - The new Avengers movies will take more than the earlier scheduled time as Disney has postponed the release dates of Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret War by nearly 7 months each. ## Doomsday, which was supposed to be released on May 1st, 2026, will now debut in worldwide theatres on December 18, 2026. On the other hand, Secret Wars has been pushed back to December 17, 2027, from its originally planned May 7, 2027, launch. ## Notably, the new release calendar saw Disney remove several unannounced Marvel titles from its calendar. The date of Feb. 13, 2026, previously slotted for an Untitled Marvel project, has been removed from the schedule. Meanwhile, the dates of Nov. 6, 2026 and Nov. 5, 2027 — both previously set for Untitled Marvel features — have been amended to simply Untitled Disney films. ## After the changes, Avengers: Doomsday and Sony's Spider-Man: Brand New Day are now the only Marvel Cinematic Universe entries slated to hit theatres in 2026. Brand New Day is scheduled for a July 31, 2026, release, which was 3 months after the original date of Doomsday. ## Doomsday and Secret Wars are both massive productions for Marvel Studios and will feature a huge cast, including the return of Robert Downey Jr., this time playing the villainous Doctor Doom. According to Deadline, the film is expected to gross $200 million - $220 million in its worldwide opening weekend, which will be a record for the franchise. ## The film's domestic (North America) opening weekend is projected to be in the range of $75 million - $85 million, while its international debut is expected to be $125 million - $135 million. The film has performed better than expected to emerge as a clean box office hit. ## Raid 2 is the 8th movie of Ajay Devgn to top 200 crores globally, and the first since Singham Again in November 2024. It had already surpassed the lifetime worldwide gross collection of the first movie, Raid, which minted approximately 154 crores gross collection. Mumbai, May 18 - Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise has flexed his star power at the Indian box office with his latest blockbuster Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning which has exceeded expectations to score the biggest opening for a non-Marvel and Avatar movie, and one of the biggest for a Hollywood title. ## As per the estimates, the spy action thriller scored approximately 20 crores gross (16.50+ crores net) collection in all versions on its Saturday opening day. With this, it has beaten Oppenheimer (17.25 crores gross) to score the biggest Hollywood opening (excluding superhero and Avatar movies). ## Overall, The Final Reckoning has delivered the 8th biggest opening day for a non-Indian movie, behind Thor: Love and Thunder, which grossed approximately 22 crores. Manjummel Boys remains the number 1 with 167.50 crores gross in India. ## Thudarum had earlier become the first movie ever to top 100 crore gross collection in Kerala state.
