Los Angeles, March 3 - The 97th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), was held on March 2, 2025, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Mumbai, March 2 - Chinese mega-blockbuster Ne Zha 2 has done the unthinkable by topping $2 billion at the worldwide box office, becoming the first animated title of all time to achieve this milestone.## The fantasy adventure has taken just 33 days since its release in China on January 29 to hit the $2 billion mark, joining six other films in this prestigious box office club. Of $2 billion, the sequel has grossed $1.96 billion in China alone which is already the biggest total ever in a single market.## In its box office journey so far, Ne Zha 2 has consistently delivered the biggest single-day collections of all time. Made on a budget of $80 million, the film is showing no sign of slowing down and is very much on course to break more records in days to come. ## Ne Zha 2 is certain to finish among the top 5 biggest grossers in the worldwide box office history. Mumbai, March 2 - Maddock Films' historical action drama Chhaava heads for a record third weekend at the Hindi box office after the biggest Saturday ever.## The Vicky Kaushal-fronted, with approximately 22 crores net collection, has beaten the mighty Pushpa 2 - The Rule (20 crores net) on the third Saturday to record the biggest third Saturday in Hindi. Earlier, the film had also scored the biggest 3rd Friday beating the same film. ## The third weekend of Chhaava is heading for 60+ crores net which will be the biggest ever in Hindi. Meanwhile, the total collection of the film through Saturday is approximately 434.50 crores or 519.50 crores gross. This makes it the first film of 2025 to surpass 500 crores gross at the Indian box office. ## Chhaava is the first 500 crores domestic grosser of Vicky Kaushal and director Laxman Utekar and the third for actress Rashmika Mandanna after Pushpa 2 and Animal. Mumbai, March 1 - The blockbuster historical action drama Chhaava has beaten the mighty Pushpa 2 - The Rule on its third Friday at the Hindi box office. The Vicky Kaushal-fronted has also topped 400 crores net collection, becoming the 9th Hindi film ever to do so. ## The Allu Arjun-fronted action drama Pushpa 2 scored 11.30 crores net collection in December last year which was the biggest third Friday in Hindi before Chhaava outnumbered it with an estimated total of around 13 crores net which is now the biggest 3rd Friday box office collection in Hindi. ## Pushpa 2 went on to score around 58 crores net in the third weekend in Hindi. It needs to be seen how Chaava fairs on Saturday and Sunday but it is certain to come close and might beat Pushpa 2 to emerge the biggest third weekend grosser. ## The total collection of Chhaava is around 412 crores net through the third Friday (15 days), on the other hand, Pushpa 2 was miles ahead with 621 crores net in the same number of days. Chennai, February 28 - The Tamil film industry has its first Blockbuster in the form of a coming-of-age comedy-drama Dragon. The film is headlined by the rising Tamil star Pradeep Ranganathan who has also written the script with Ashwath Marimuthu. ## Directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, Dragon has completed its first week, grossing approximately 77.50 crores at the worldwide box office. This already makes it the second highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2025, behind only Ajith Kumar's Vidaamuyarchi (136 crores gross). ## Released on February 21, Dragon opened to super positive reviews and reception from the audience which led to the biggest opening for the actor with double-digit numbers worldwide. The movie showed impressive growth over the weekend and remained rock solid during the weekdays to put up huge box office numbers. ## In India, the film has grossed approximately 58 crores, including over 39.50 crores in Tamil Nadu alone. Mumbai, February 26 - Maddock Films' historical action drama Chhaava climbs to new heights at the global box office, becoming the first Indian movie of 2025 to cross 500 crores gross collection. The film took only 12 days, one of the fastest Hindi language films to achieve the milestone. ## Chhaava has grossed approximately 435 crores domestically and an estimated 75 crores overseas for around 510 worldwide gross total in 12 days. It is by far the biggest Indian grosser of the year, almost 2x of the second-best, Sankranthiki Vasthunam which grossed 250+ crores globally. ## It is the highest-grossing historical epic at the Indian box office and will soon top Padmaavat to become the biggest Indian grosser globally in this genre.
