Chennai, September 15 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time is having a fantastic second weekend at the Tamil Nadu box office, overcoming the mixed reviews like a proper well-received blockbuster.## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT grossed approximately 143.50 crores in Tamil Nadu in its extended first week (8 days) and started the second weekend with a jump on the second Friday, crossing the 150 crores gross mark in the state.## Since there is no competition in the home market, The GOAT witnessed another excellent jump of almost 100% on the second Saturday to score approximately 13.75 crores gross collection, which took its total collection to 164+ crores in the state which is the fifth highest of all time. ## The action blockbuster is heading towards entering the 200 crores gross club in Tamil Nadu as it will be around 178+ crores by the end of the second weekend. As said, the open run is expected to keep the movie afloat with a steady collection beyond the weekend and lead it to enter the 200 crores club. ## If happens (which looks like a real possibility), The GOAT will be only the third movie of all time to enter 200 crores gross club in Tamil Nadu after Thalapathy Vijay's Leo (215 crores approx.) and Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1 (213 crores approx.). ## Meanwhile, at the worldwide box office, The Greatest of All Time is racing towards 400 crores gross collection. Mumbai, September 14 - Critically acclaimed Folk horror thriller Tumbbad is up for a fantastic re-release run at the domestic box office and is set to outgross its lifetime original run collection within two weeks. ## The movie was re-released on September 13 amid much anticipation and it didn't disappoint with superb 1.60 crores net opening, which is almost 2.5X of its original run opening day collection of 65 lakh. As word of mouth grows, it scored a deserving jump of +50% on Saturday. ## On its second day, Tumbbad earned approximately 2.60 crores net collection (3+ crores gross), pushing the total re-release collection to approx. 4.20 crores net in 2 days. Interestingly, in its original run, the movie never scored 2 crores or more collection in a single day. ## The film had scored approximately 3.25 crores net in its original run opening weekend which has been crossed in just 2 days with a good margin upon its re-release. The re-release opening weekend is heading towards 7+ crores net and it is likely to outscore its final original collection of approximately 13.50 crores net during the second weekend. ## Tumbbad was a box office flop when it was released in 2018 but after 6 years, the film is having a verdict-changing re-release run. Chennai, September 14 - Thalapathy Vijay, arguably the biggest Tamil star, has officially announced his 69th film which is said to be his final movie before his political entry under his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.## Tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, the film will be directed by H. Vinoth, marking his maiden collaboration with the superstar. The leading Kannada production house, KVN Productions will produce T69 and it will be the studio's maiden Tamil production. ## Sensational Anirudh Ravichander is on board to compose the music of T69 which has been confirmed to hit the big screens in October 2025. Mumbai, September 14 - One of the most critically acclaimed folk horror Indian films ever, Tumbbad got re-released on September 13 amid much anticipation and it delivered what was expected from it regarding the box office collection. ## Over the last few months, Bollywood has been following the re-release trend of some classic films that are also doing well at the box office. Sensing the big opportunity and obelizing the public demand, producer Sohum Shah and the team announced the re-release of Tumbbad and they also put efforts into promoting the movie. ## Per estimates, the film scored approximately 1.60 crores net (1.80+ crores gross) collection on its opening day which is more than 2.5X of its original release's first-day collection (65 lakh). Mumbai, September 13 - After the historic comeback in 2023 with three back-to-back big blockbusters, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is taking time before starting his next film, titled King which with director Sujoy Ghosh under production Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix. ## King has been in the pre-production work for a while now and was supposed to go on floors by the end of this year. However, the makers are being extra careful before starting the shoot which has now been delayed to January 2026, according to the report by Pinkvilla. ## It is said that the first schedule of King will commence in Mumbai in January 2025, followed by a marathon schedule in Europe. The makers have done multiple rounds of recce in Europe to identify virgin locations that bring scale to the film. ## The film will be shot until August/September 2025 due to multiple changes in the locations. As reported earlier, the movie will miss a 2025 release which the makers were originally eyeing, and as per the latest report, it will now be hitting the big screen on Eid 2026. ## If the movie indeed makes it to the Eid 2026 slot, it will be Shah Rukh Khan's first film to release on this particular festival since Chennai Express (2013) which was a blockbuster. ## King is said to be an action thriller, unlike any other film Shah Rukh Khan has done so far. Chennai, September 13 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time had an excellent extended first week at the worldwide box office with approximately 340 crores gross collection. This includes 209 crores in India and 131 crores overseas. ## The GOAT performed opposite in the home state, Tamil Nadu and other domestic areas. In TN, the movie minted approximately 143.50 crores gross while the rest of the domestic market contributed approximately 65.70 crores, including 24.75 crores in Karnataka where the movie performed second best after TN. ## At the overseas box office, the Venkat Prabhu's directorial blockbuster was excellent throughout the first week and earned approximately 131 crores, for a worldwide cume of 340 crores gross in 8 days. The GOAT will outgross the final collection of Ponniyin Selvan - Part 2 (344 crores gross) at the end of its 9th day to become the 6th biggest Tamil grosser of all time. ## As reported earlier, The GOAT is the second movie of Thalapathy Vijay to cross 300 crores worldwide gross and is currently the second biggest grosser of the actor after Leo (606 crores) which is the second highest-grossing Tamil title, behind only 2.0 (744 crores gross). ## The GOAT is expected to finish as the 5th biggest Tamil grosser by crossing Kamal Haasan's Vikram (414 crores gross). Los Angeles, September 12 - Warner Bros. Pictures' sequel to the 2019 psychological thriller Joker is hitting theatres this October and it seems the hype is fading away after the recent screening where the movie received average reviews. ## As for the box office, the Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga-led Joker: Folie à Deux is tracking to open less than its predecessor at the domestic box office. According to Deadline, the blockbuster sequel is projected to open with $70 million - $80 million in its domestic (North America) opening weekend. ## If Joker 2 opens to the projected lines, it would be $26 million less than Joker which scored $96.2 million in the domestic weekend, as per Box Office Mojo. A couple of weeks ago, the movie was projected to open with $100+ million, which is now looking difficult, per the latest projection. ## Joker 2 currently has a 62% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, which, interestingly, is similar to the original movie after its Venice and TIFF premiere. So there is a possibility the sequel might follow the same path at the box office as well, but as of now, it looks a far cry. ## Directed by Todd Phillips, Joker was a monster hit for Warner Bros. with $1.08 billion at the worldwide box office, including $335.5 million domestically. Hyderabad, September 12 - Telugu superstar Jr. NTR's much-awaited action drama film Devara: Part 1 is set to be another lengthy film with a theatrical runtime of close to 3 hours. The movie is directed by Koratala Siva and also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in prominent roles. ## As the movie is gearing up for its grand release on September 27, the makers have completed the censor process more than two weeks before its big screen debut. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has passed the film with the 'U/A' certificate with an approved runtime of 178 minutes (2 hours and 58 minutes). ## It is said that the CBFC had asked makers to make some changes which led to 4 modifications, including 3 changes related to the violent scenes in the film. Underwhelming Viewership To Prabhas-Fronted 'Kalki 2898 AD' On Netflix

Mumbai, September 11 - Sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, starring Pan India superstar Prabhas, is one of the biggest hits of the year in the Hindi language. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the movie scored approximately 294 crores net collection in the dubbed version and is currently the second biggest of 2024. ## Kalki 2898 AD was sold to Netflix for the post-theatrical streaming of the Hindi version at a handsome price. Given the fantastic box office performance, it was expected to be a big success for the streamer, however, the response so far has been underwhelming as far as the Hindi version is concerned. ## The movie debuted on Netflix with a promising viewership of 4.5 million views in the opening weekend. However, due to mixed reception on OTT, the viewership dipped in the second week to 2.6 million views and in the third week, it was down to just 900K views which is lower than the third-week viewership of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1.6 million) which was a box office disaster.## The total views of the Kalki Hindi version on Netflix are 8 million after 17 days and it will probably be out of the top 10 chart by the next week, keeping it under 10 million views which is poor viewership for a movie that was reportedly sold for a whopping 175 crores in the dubbed version. ## The viewership of Kalki 2898 AD on Netflix is one of the lowest for a major blockbuster since the platform introduced the Top 10 chart.## Produced by C. Ajay Devgn's 'Raid 2' Gets A New Release Date

Mumbai, September 11 - Ajay Devgn-fronted crime thriller Raid 2 has officially been postponed to February next year. The movie is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor in the prominent roles. ## Raid 2, which is the sequel to Raid (2018), will be hitting worldwide theaters on February 21, 2025. It was supposed to be released on November 15 this year but due to another film of Ajay scheduled to be released in November in the form of Singham Again, the makers have pushed Raid 2 back by nearly 4 months. ## Just like the first movie, Raid 2 is also based on true incidents. Ajay Devgn returns to reprise his role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik, who tracks another white-collar crime. Riteish Deshmukh plays the antagonist role while Vaani is the female lead and both are the new addition to the cast. ## Raid 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak under the banners of T-Series and Panorama Studios.
