Superhit 'Housefull' Final Worldwide Box Office Collection

Mumbai, April 30 - Akshay Kumar-fronted Housefull is one of the most successful film franchises in India. It holds the record of being the highest-grossing comedy film franchise in the country with around 790 crores at the worldwide box office from 4 films released so far. Housefull 5 is currently in development for 2025 release. ## The first Housefull film was released in 2010, and today on April 30, it has completed 14 years. The movie grossed over 100 crores at the worldwide box office and was the second highest-grossing Indian comedy film at that time, behind Welcome (2017) which was also headlined by Akshay Kumar. ## Directed by Sajid Khan, Housefull is based on the Tamil romantic comedy Kadhala Kadhala (1988) starring Kamal Haasan. Chennai, April 29 - Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli has become the highest-grossing re-release film at the Indian box office in the 21st century. The sports action drama film, which was re-released on April 20, has grossed approximately 20 crores in India in 9 days. ## The 20 crores domestic gross collection of Ghilli makes it the biggest re-release grosser, beating James Cameron's Avatar 3D which minted 18 crores back in 2012. Iconic blockbuster Sholay 3D (2013) is the third biggest grosser with 13 crores. ## As reported earlier, Ghilli will also become the third highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 at the domestic box office. It is currently at number 4, behind Lal Salaam which minted around 21 crores gross earlier this year. ## At the worldwide box office, the 20-year-old film has grossed over 26 crores and will be topping the 30 crores mark in the next few days. Naga Chaitanya's 'Thandel' Post-Theatrical Digital Rights Sold To Netflix For Record 40 Crore

Hyderabad, April 29 - Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya reunited with director Chandoo Mondeti for a rustic love story action thriller Thandel which is scheduled to release theatrically later this year. The movie has Sai Pallavi as the female lead, reuniting with Chaitanya after Love Story (2021). ## Thandel is touted to be the best film of Naga Chaitanya and hence, not only in trade, the movie is in hot demand in digital and satellite. Recently, it was announced that Netflix acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the movie and now, according to the latest Telugu media reports, the streamer has paid a whopping 40 crores for the same. ## The 40 crores deal with Netflix is the highest-ever digital deal for a Naga Chaitanya film which shows the anticipation for the movie among the audiences. It is not yet clear how long the theatrical window will be but Netflix usually pay higher prices for a short window (4 weeks). ## Thandel is produced by GA2 Pictures in association with Geetha Arts. Devi Sri Prasad scores the music for the movie which is said to be the biggest budgeted one for Chaitanya. Chennai, April 29 - Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli is turning the clock back with an impressive performance at the box office since its re-release on April 20. The sports action drama has easily been the number-one Tamil film since last week at the domestic and worldwide box office. ## Ghilli scored 14.50+ crores gross collection in its first week (6 days) in India, and with not much competition, it was again one of the top-performing films in the second weekend with a gross collection of around 5.50 crores.## The total collection of Ghilli is around 20 crores gross in 9 days in India. Pictures has its third $500 million grosser in just 5 months at the worldwide box office as Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire joins Dune Part 2 and Wonka in this elite club. ## The Adam Wingard's directorial MonsterVerse film, as of Sunday (April 28), grossed $519.3 million (4330 crores) at the worldwide box office, including $337.7 million (2815 crores) internationally and $181.7 million (1515) domestically (North America).## China has been the biggest overseas market for Godzilla x Kong with $125.90 million (1050 crores). India too has been in the top 5 box office market for the film with a gross collection of around 122 crores ($14.60 million), making it the highest-grossing film in the franchise in India.## Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Pictures' Dune 2 hit $700 million globally. Mumbai, April 27 - Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures' Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has topped 100 crores net collection at the Indian box office, becoming the first Hollywood movie of 2024 and the first ever in the MonsterVerse to achieve the feat. ## The Adam Wingard's directorial blockbuster has grossed over 120 crores (100+ crores net) at the Indian box office in 29 days. In its 4th week, the movie grossed around 8 crores, dropping around 38% despite the arrival of the new Indian releases. ## India has been one of the biggest overseas markets for Godzilla x Kong. The movie was released on March 29 and scored 69+ crores gross collection in the first week. It held strongly in the second with to gross of approximately 29.50 crores (-57.60%), followed by 13 crores (-56%) in the third week. ## The sequel has performed well in the Southern Indian states, especially in Tamil Nadu. Kochi, April 27 - After becoming only the third Malayalam movie to top 150 crores at the worldwide box office, Prithviraj Sukumaran's survival thriller Aadujeevitham - The Goat Life has now become the third film to cross 75 crores gross mark in Kerala state. ## Directed by Blessy, the blockbuster film has grossed approximately 75.50 crores in 30 days, making it the third movie ever to go past the 75 crores mark in Kerala. Tovino Thomas' 2018: Everyone is A Hero is the highest-grossing film in Kerala with approximately 89.50 crores, followed by Pulimurugan with 78.50 crores gross. SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 is the 4th best with around 73 crores gross in the state.## Aadujeevitham is likely to finish with the third position in Kerala while in India, it is currently the 4th highest-grossing Malayalam film with around 95.75 crores gross after Manjummel Boys (164 crores), 2018 (111 crores), and Pulimurugan (100 crores). ## At the worldwide box office, Aadujeevitham is again the third highest-grossing Mollywood title behind only Manjummel Boys (237+ crores) and 2018 (180 crores). Chennai, April 26 - Thalapathy Vijay's sports action drama Ghilli re-release box office collection has crossed 20 crores gross worldwide in 7 days after the excellent Wednesday in India and overseas. ## On Thursday, the blockbuster film scored an estimated 1.25-1.40 crores gross in India, pushing the total collection to over 14.50 crores in 6 days. The movie opened in the United Kingdom with a sensational 55 lakh which pushed the overseas collection to around 5.25 crores gross. ## Ghilli, after 6 days of its re-release, has earned over 19.75 crores at the worldwide box office and has crossed the 20 crores gross mark with today's collection.
