During the chat, Sunny Deol opened up about the box office clash between his "Gadar 2" and Akshay Kumar's "OMG 2". ## Both the aforementioned films were released on August 11 during the Independence Day weekend this year and Sunny, who hasn't had success in many years, revealed that he requested Akshay to avoid a clash as he wanted a solo release of his movie. ## When Karan Johar asked about the box office clash, the actor said that he wanted Akshay to release "OMG 2" on any other date if he had the power to do it, but Akshay denied saying it was the decision of the studio and he couldn't change that. ## Karan Johar then talked about the time when there was unity within the industry and everyone used to reach out to each other for everything. Mumbai, November 1 - Yash Raj Films has collaborated with PVR-Inox to celebrate the Spy Universe festival ahead of the release of Salman Khan-fronted "Tiger 3". ## YRF's Spy Universe is one of the most loved film franchises in India and the upcoming "Tiger 3" is the 5th film in the series so far. Directed by Maneesh Sharma, the third Tiger movie follows the events of "Tiger Zinda Hai", "War", and "Pathaan" and is touted to be the biggest film in the Spy Universe yet. ## The studio has partnered with PVR-Inox to screen the previous film in the series in what is termed as YRF Spy Universe Film Festival. The aforementioned films along with "Ek Tha Tiger" will be screened from November 3rd to November 5th in the select properties of PVR-Inox across the country. ## As said, Spy Universe has set new standards for the Indian cinema. The previous four films have grossed over 2400 crores worldwide, including over 1050 crores by "Pathaan" which was released in January this year. The official announcement is expected to be made soon with the trailer. ## "Pippa" is based on the war memoir The Burning Chaffees written by Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta. Mumbai, October 31 - Tamil star Dhanush is all set to headline the biopic of music maestro Ilaiyaraaja and the movie will go on floors in 2024 for 2025 worldwide release, according to senior journalist Latha Srinivasan who shared the news via X. ## "It is confirmed that National Award-winning star Dhanush will be playing Isaignani Illaiyaraaja in his biopic. Sources added that the movie will go on floors in 2024 and will release in 2025. This is likely to be a huge project given that it is about one of India’s music legends and has uber-talented Dhanush playing the role. The project is said to be produced by Connekkt Media", the tweet reads.## Isaignani Illaiyaraaja is one of the most decorated Indian musicians. He has worked in over 1000 films and has been awarded Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan by the government of India along with 5 national awards. ## Interestingly, Yuvan Shankar Raja, who is the third and youngest child of Ilaiyaraaja, had said a few months back that he would love to see Dhanush playing the role of his father in his biopic and it seems, things are falling in place. Directed by Anil Sharma, the film busted industry projections to emerge as one of the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema. ## After "Gadar 2", Sunny's popularity reaches new heights and he is being blessed with multiple big offers. As known to everyone, the "Ghayal" actor is already doing a mass entertainer Baap which is currently in the post-production work for a 2024 release. ## Sunny is shooting for a social drama film currently, which is expected to be released in the first half of 2024. The next film to be commenced by Sunny is Rajkumar Santoshi's period action drama film Lahore 1947, which will be produced by Aamir Khan. The movie is said to be based on Asghar Wajahat's acclaimed Punjabi play, "Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya O Jamyai Nai". ## Apart from the aforementioned films, the man of the moment is in advance talks to headline Border 2, a sequel to his all-time blockbuster war movie "Border" (1997) which was set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 and was an adaptation of real-life events that happened during the Battle of Longewala in 1971. ## Sunny Deol is also in talks to play the role of lord Hanuman in director Nitesh Tiwari's epic Ramayana which commenced filming in the first quarter of 2024. According to Pinkvilla, the actor will team with director duo Abbas-Mustan for a big-budget action thriller, set to go on floors in 2024. ## Other than all the films mentioned above, the "Indian" actor is discussing several other scripts too, which include a film with Mythri Productions, and then, there is Gadar 3, which is reportedly lined up for Independence Day 2025 weekend release, two years after the second instalment while the possibility of "Apne 2" is also on. ## The mega success of "Gadar 2" has turned to tide of Sunny, who once was one of the most successful Indian actors during the 90s and early 20s. Chennai, October 30 - Thalapathy Vijay's action drama Leo has become the second highest-grossing film in Tamil Nadu, beating superstar Rajinikanth's mega-blockbuster "Jailer". Lokesh Kanagaraj's directorial is also inching towards hitting the 200 crores mark in the state. ## The latest Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) blockbuster crossed "Jailer" in 12 days. The Rajini-led movie scored approximately 189.50 crores gross collection in Tamil Nadu and "Leo" scored around 191.50 crores. It is now behind only Mani Ratnam's "Ponniyin Selvan - 1" which grossed approx. 213 crores last year. ## "Leo" will become only the second movie to top 200 crores gross in Tamil Nadu and it is heading towards finishing around 210 crores gross. The movie, however, has the potential to become the number 1 movie in the state and it needs to hold strong during the weekdays. ## Produced by Seven Screen Studio, the third LCU movie has already become the third highest-grossing Tamil movie of all time at the worldwide box office. It minted approx. 543 crores gross in 12 days. The movie, however, is still approximately 62 crores behind "Jailer" which is the second-biggest Tamil movie. The social comedy-drama film is directed by maverick Rajkumar Hirani and this marks his maiden collaboration with SRK.## "Dunki" is scheduled to release during the Christmas weekend this year, possibly on December 21st worldwide, the makers are gearing up to kickstart promotion by launching a teaser on Shah Rukh Khan's birthday on November 2nd. According to a report by Pinkvilla, Shah Rukh Khan will watch the teaser with his fans in Mumbai. ## It is revealed that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has certified two teasers of "Dunki" with a clean U certificate. The first teaser is said to be 58 seconds long while the second teaser is 1 minute and 49 seconds long. ## It is not known yet which teaser will be released on November 2nd, however, rumours are rife that the makers will launch both teasers. Hyderabad, October 30 - Veteran Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna has completed the hattrick of 100 crores grosser at the worldwide box office with his latest action drama Bhagavanth Kesari. Earlier, "Akhanda" and "Veera Simha Reddy" achieved this feat. ## Directed by Anil Ravipudi, "Bhagavanth Kesari has crossed the 100 crores gross mark as I type this (in 12 days) and becomes the 6th Telugu movie of the year to do so. The movie scored approximately 99 crores gross through the second Sunday (11 days) and is expected to be around 101 crores at the end of the second Monday. ## "Bhagavanth Kesari" has minted approximately 86 crores gross at the Indian box office and an estimated 13 crores overseas through second Sunday. There were some more box office winners in the form of "Mark Antony", "Maamannan", "Maaveeran", "Vaathi/SIR", and "Viduthalai Part - 1", but it was "Jailer" and "Leo" that packed the knockout punch. ## Superstar Rajinikanth's action drama Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, was released during the Independence Day weekend on August 10 and made the most of the holiday period. The movie got a largely positive reception and went on to become the second highest-grossing Tamil movie of all time, grossing over 600 crores worldwide. ## Director Lokesh Kanagaraj's latest LCU entrant Leo, starring Thalapathy Vijay, is not far behind "Jailer" despite getting a mixed reception. The action drama was released on October 19 and became the first Tamil movie to top 100 crores worldwide on opening day. Mumbai, October 29 - Director Anil Sharma's period action drama Gadar is arguably the most successful film franchise in Indian cinema with both films in the series emerging as all-time blockbuster successes.## Starring Sunny Deol, the first film "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" was released way back in 2001 and set to new benchmark for the Indian film industry before its sequel, "Gadar: The Katha Continues" took things a notch higher in 2023 to become the second highest net-grossing film in Hindi. And now, the makers are gearing up to bring the next instalment of the franchise. ## The makers have already confirmed that there could be "Gadar 3", and as per the latest reports, the movie is indeed happening. According to a report in Dainik Bhaskar, the makers are planning to announce the next film early next year with a clear-cut strategy of taking the movie on floors around August 2024. ## The report further said that the makers don't want to delay "Gadar 3" much unlike "Gadar 2" which was made 22 years after the first film.
