Box Office: Oppenheimer and Barbie Second Day/First Saturday India Early Estimates
Mumbai, July 22 - Christopher Nolan's atom bomb movie "Oppenheimer" has an explosive first Saturday, after a very good opening day of 14.50 crores net collection at the Indian box office. ## The movie is having strong collection across the country and with a jump of around 15-20%, it scored an estimated 17-17.50 crores net (~20.50 crores gross) on its second day. The total collection through the first Saturday reaches around 32 crores net (~38 crores gross).## The brand value of Christopher Nolan is driving massive biz. It is mainly in the original English format as the Hindi version contributed just 15% to the opening day collection. The same trend is also being witnessed on its second day as well where the English version is ruling the overall biz. ## The fellow Hollywood movie, "Barbie" also witnessed a good jump today after a good opening day of 5 crores net. With an increase of around 25%, "Barbie" scored an estimated 6.50 crores net collection today, which takes the two days total to around 11.50 crores net. ## "Barbie" has done well in the first days against a solid competitor in Nolan as well as the holdover movies. It could have easily scored a few more had there been no "Oppenheimer" up against it. The word of mouth for both movies is solid and a combined weekend total is looking to be around 70 crores net (83 crores gross). ## Meanwhile, Tom Cruise is not going anywhere as his latest blockbuster "Mission Impossible 7" scored a solid estimated 4.50 crores net (+80%) on its second Saturday at the Indian box office. This takes the total net collection of the movie to over 87 crores net in 11 days and it will be looking to top 100 crores net at the end of the second week or next weekend.## Stay tuned...
