Warner Bros. Pictures India ' Horror-Thriller 'The Nun 2' Sets Clash With Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan'

Mumbai, July 7 - One of the leading Hollywood studios, Warner Bros. Pictures had a big success with its horror-thriller film "Evil Dead Rise" at the Indian box office earlier this year. It clashed with Salman Khan's "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan" but managed to attract Indian audiences as it grossed over 37 crores. ## The studio is now gearing up for its next horror-thriller "The Nun 2". The 9th installment in The Conjuring Universe franchise and the sequel to "The Nun" (2018), the movie has been announced to release on September 8 this year in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. ## Directed by Michael Chaves, "The Nun 2" will clash with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan" which is scheduled to release on September 7. "Jawan", unlike KKBKKJ, is a far bigger hyped movie that is expected to grab a maximum number of screens in the Hindi belt.## "The Nun 2", meanwhile, is a bigger IP than "Evil Dead Rise" which could help the movie to get some traction despite facing a clash with one of the most anticipated Indian movies. The film stars Taissa Farmiga, Jonas Bloquet, and Bonnie Aarons, returning from the first film, with Storm Reid and Anna Popplewell joining the cast. ## The sequel is set four years after the ending of the first film. Hyderabad, July 7 - The first teaser/trailer of superstar Prabhas' highly-awaited Pan India movie "Salaar" has taken the internet by storm and has become the most-viewed Indian movie teaser of all time in the first 24 hours. ## Directed by Prashanth Neel, the "Salaar" teaser recorded 83 million updated views and 1.67 million likes in the first 24 hours. In fact, it is the first Indian movie teaser to cross the 70 million mark, besting Prabhas' last film "Adipurush" teaser which got 68.9 million. ## Prashanth Neel's "KGF: Chapter 2" teaser is the third most watched with 68.8 million views. However, unlike "Adipurush" and "KGF 2", the teaser of "Salaar" was launched in a single language yet it received a record-breaking response. It was launched early in the morning at 5:12 AM. ## The teaser of "Salaar" got mixed to positive responses from audiences but it has been able to hype up moviegoers with its potential connection with the mega-blockbuster "KGF 2". The trailer of the movie is expected to clear up many things about its connection with the Yash-starrer. Prabhas' 'Project K' Title and Release Date To Be Launched At The San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC)

California, July 6 - Superstar Prabhas-fronted hugely-anticipated sci-fi epic "Project K" is going global as the makers are gearing up to unveil exclusive footage as well as the title and the release date of the film in the presence of talent at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), according to Variety. ## Vyjayanthi Movies will unveil the first look glimpse of the film at an opening night party on July 19. On July 20, the "Project K" team will host a panel titled "This is Project K: First Glimpse of India's Mytho-Sci-fi Epic" with Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Haasan during which the film's full title, teaser trailer, and release date will be revealed. ## "This exclusive event will transport guests into India's most ambitious cinematic universe yet with their captivating storytelling, futuristic setting, and 'Spice Punk' aesthetic inspired by the film", said producer C. Aswani Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies in a statement. ## Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan among others will also feature in a performance on SDCC's largest stage. It will be the first Indian film to debut at SDCC.## "We are thrilled to present 'Project K's" debut at San Diego Comic-Con. The actor-director duo previously collaborated on two occasions, "3 Idiots" (2008) and "PK" (2014), and now, after almost a decade, they are likely to come together again. ## According to Pinkvilla, Hirani recently discussed a script with Aamir who instantly got excited. The duo have discussed many ideas in the past and it seems, they finally have found one which is said to be a biopic drama film. The report states that even though the discussion between the two at present is at a nascent stage, it seems promising. ## Rajkumar Hirani is presently working on a social comedy-drama film "Dunki" starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The blockbuster filmmaker will start working on the final script and other pre-production formalities of Aamir's film after the release of his maiden film with SRK. ## Meanwhile, there are reports that Hirani will direct cricketer Lala Amarnath's biopic and the latest report is in sync with the earlier reports. Mumbai, July 6 - The second installment of the anthology film "Lust Stories" has opened in the top 10 most-watched non-English films on Netflix. "Lust Stories 2" is consisting of four short film segments directed by R. Balki, Konkona Sen Sharma, Amit Ravindernath Sharma, and Sujoy Ghosh. ## The film premiered on June 29 and debuted at number 4 with 4.2 million views. The film, which is 2 hours and 13 minutes long, scored 9.3 million viewing hours in its opening weekend. The anthology received a mixed response from critics and digital audiences. ## "Lust Stories 2" is trending at the number in India as well as in Mauritius, Bangladesh, Maldives, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and UAE while also trending in the top 10 in Qatar, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Hong Kong, Bahrain, and Singapore on Netflix.## The first segment - "Made For Each Other" of the anthology is directed by R. Balki and stars Mrunal Thakur, Neena Gupta, and Angad Bedi in key roles, followed by Konkona Sen Sharma's segment - "The Mirror" features Tillotama Shome, Amruta Subhash, and Shrikant Yadav. ## Sujoy Ghosh directs "Sex With Ex" featuring Tamannaah Bhatia, Vijay Varma, Mukti Mohan, and Jugal Hansraj in the lead while the last segment - "Tilchatta", helmed by Amit Sharma, stars Kajol, and Kumud Mishra in the prominent roles. ## Apart from "Lust Stories 2", director Sudhir Mishra's "Afwaah" also featured in the Netflix top 10 list last weekend with the 9th spot. It is releasing on July 12 in the US and some other countries. ## Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, "MI 7" is projected to score $90 million in its opening weekend at the domestic (North America) box office, which will be the record in the "Mission Impossible" franchise. Mumbai, July 5 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's popularity is at an all-time high after his historic comeback with Yash Raj Films' "Pathaan". This Siddharth Anand's directorial grossed more than 1000 crores at the worldwide box office and made SRK only the second Bollywood actor after Aamir Khan to reach the rare box office mark. ## Shah Rukh Khan's next two films "Jawan" and "Dunki" are the most-anticipated Bollywood films and according to the reports, both films are in red hot demand in the trade. According to Pinkvilla, SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment, which has produced both movies, has sold the non-theatrical rights for a record price. ## "It's Shah Rukh Khan v/s Shah Rukh Khan now as the top two non-theatrical deals of all time are under the name of King Khan. While the digital, satellite, and music rights of Jawan are sold for approximately Rs 250 crore, the same for Dunki is around Rs 230 crore", the report states. ## "Jawan", directed by Atlee, will also be released in Tamil and Telugu which is the reason it scored a higher deal in non-theatrical rights while Rajkumar Hirani's "Dunki" is an exclusive Hindi release as of now. "There are some non-theatrical deals which are still getting locked and the eventual total non-theatrical revenue for two films will be close to Rs 500 crore", the website further reports.## As said, the global stardom of SRK, especially after the "Pathaan" euphoria, has resulted in such massive pre-release numbers.
