Satyaprem Ki Katha Opening Day Advance Booking: Good In National Multiplex, Low In Single Screens

Mumbai, June 29 - Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's much-awaited musical romantic drama film "Satyaprem Ki Katha" hits the big screen today. Directed by Sameer Vidwans and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, SPKK had its special screening yesterday in which it received a good response. ## "Satyaprem Ki Katha" is one of the films that is aimed at multiple audiences and this was clearly visible in the screen sharing and the advance booking sales. The movie has been released on over 2000 screens in India, with the majority of screens allotted at national multiple chains. ## The movie scored a decent advance booking for the opening day with over 70K tickets sold (block seats excluded) which is still one of the highest for a Bollywood movie in 2023. However, the majority of opening-day pre-sales were recorded in multiplex chains while the same is low in single screens which was expected. ## As far as the opening day is concerned and given the advance booking trend, "Satyaprem Ki Katha" is looking to score between 7-9 crores. However, a double-digit start can not rule out if the audience's word of mouth is positive as this can bring single screens into the picture. ## Even if the movie fails to reach a double-digit opening, it can still be termed as good if it opens in the expected lines of 7-9 crores. New Delhi, June 29 - The third installment of the Punjabi comedy-drama film "Carry on Jatta" has been released in cinemas today amid much anticipation. ## Being one of the biggest IPs in Punjabi cinema, "Carry On Jatta 3" is expected to take one of the biggest openings after recording the biggest pre-sales for a Punjabi movie. The movie sold approx. 38K tickets worth 1.02 crores gross in advance for the opening day. ## "Carry On Jatta 3" is the only Punjabi movie of all time to score 1+ crores in advance. If the advance booking is anything to go by, the movie is likely to take the biggest opening ever for a Punjabi movie and might touch the 3 crores net mark. ## As of now, Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa's "Shadaa" is the biggest opener with 2.70 crores net collection, followed by "Honsla Rakh", which was also headlined by Dosanjh with Shehnaaz Gill and Sonam Bajwa, with 2.52 crores net. ## Meanwhile, "Carry On Jatta 3" is directed by Smeep Kang and produced by Humble Motion Pictures in association with Omjee Star Studios. The trailer of the movie received a unanimous positive response from all over and now, it is set for a good start at the box office. Los Angeles, June 28 - Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh's period romantic drama film Jodi has created an all-time record for a Punjabi title at the North American box office. ## Directed by Amberdeep Singh, "Jodi" has become the first Punjabi movie to cross the $3 million mark in North America, according to trade expert Jatinder. The movie passed this box office milestone a week ago and currently stands at $3+ million (24.70 crores). "Chal Mera Putt 2" is the second highest-grosser with $2.8 million, followed by "Honsla Rakh" with $2.7 million.## The movie was released on May 5, and upon its release, it scored the biggest opening weekend for a Punjabi movie in North America with $734K (6 crores) on just 125 screens, with a brilliant $5.75k per-theater average gross. ## The total overseas collection of "Jodi" is an estimated 34 crores gross while the worldwide collection is approx. 47 crores gross. Corenswet, who headlined Ryan Murphy's Netflix series "Hollywood", will play cub reporter Kent at the fictional newspaper The Daily Planet. Brosnahan will be his coworker and co-lead.## The casting of the lead pair of the upcoming movie was done through a long process of audition. Corenswet earned widespread acclaim for his breakout performance in Netflix's "The Politician", as well as the celebrated horror indie "Pearl" from A24. ## Rachel Brosnahan, on the other hand, is a well-established actor in Hollywood. Chennai, June 27 - Tamil director Vetrimaaran's highly-awaited film "Vaadivaasal" with superstar Suriya has been in the news ever since it was announced a long time back. However, even after so much time passed since the announcement, the movie hasn't rolled out yet. ## The film was announced a few years back and a test shoot with Suriya also happened several months back. It was supposed to go on floors in 2022 but due to Vetrimaaran's "Viduthalai", the shoot got delayed. Now, the filmmaker has provided a much-awaited update on the same and confirmed that it will go on floors soon. ## During a recent interview, Vetrimaaran stated that the pre-production work for "Vaadivaasal" is underway in London. The entire moments of the bulls that have to perform with Suriya have been scanned and transferred to high-end computers. ## The director said that he will start shooting for "Vaadivaasal" soon after completing the remaining shoot of "Viduthalai - Part 2" starring Vijay Sethupathi and Soori. Now, according to Pinkvilla, the makers have locked Sujoy Ghosh to direct this action thriller flick. Ghosh is best known for his works in "Kahaani", "Kahaani 2" and "Badlaa". ## SRK and Sujoy Ghosh previously collaborated on Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu's "Badla" in the capacity of producer and director, respectively. The industry has now big hopes for the musical romantic comedy film "Satyaprem Ki Katha" to conclude the first half of the year on high. ## The Sameer Vidwan-directed flick reunites Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani after the blockbuster "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2". The upcoming movie has been one of the most-anticipated ones of the duo and it is expected to start well at the box office.## The keenly-awaited film has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved runtime of 146 minutes (2 hours 26 minutes). According to the reports, "Satya Prem Ki Katha" will be released on over 2000 screens in India, with the majority of screens being of national multiplex chains.
