Mumbai, June 24 - Bollywood queen Kangana Ranaut's much-awaited biographical historical drama film "Emergency" has locked a new release date. ## Directed by Kangana herself, "Emergency" is based on the true events of Emergency in India from 1975-1977. It was supposed to release on October 20 but has now been postponed by a month. It will now be hitting worldwide theaters on November 24, 2023, two weeks after Salman Khan-fronted "Emergency". ## Kangana Ranaut took to Twitter to announce the new release date with a teaser. Mumbai, June 22 - Director Om Raut's magnum opus Adipurush was one of the most-awaited films of the year and it proved with an excellent opening at the domestic box office. ## The effect of Ramayana, plus the star power of Prabhas worked wonders for the film in the opening weekend despite the negative word of mouth as the movie scored 261 crores gross in India. However, what happened next was unexpected as "Adipurush" slipped to a historic low after the opening weekend wonder. ## Despite the word of mouth being against the film, it was still expected to score at a decent level during the weekdays but it faced a near-complete rejection from the audiences. From Monday to Thursday, "Adipurush" grossed just around 46 crores domestically in all languages, for approx. 307 crores opening week domestic collection.## While the opening week numbers of "Adipurush" are big, the drastic fall during the weekdays has more or less sealed the fate of the film as it will be extremely tough to regain the momentum. Los Angeles, June 22 - The long-range box office projections for the upcoming Tom Cruise-fronted Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One are revealed and they are good enough to make it the biggest opener in the Mission Impossible franchise. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, MI7 is tracking for a franchise-best opening in the $90 million range at the domestic (North America) box office. On the other hand, Box Office Pro shared their projections that the film will open between $65 million and $80 million in its 3-day domestic opening weekend.## Should MI7 open as projected, it will be the biggest opener in the franchise, beating "Mission: Impossible - Fallout's" $61.2 million opening weekend in 2018. The first-time combo of SRK and Tamil director Atlee has grabbed the eyeballs and the movie is expected to explode at the box office upon its release.## "Jawan" is one of the costliest films of Shah Rukh Khan as it has been shot on a massive scale and boasts a super solid star cast. It commenced filming in late 2021 and the entire shoot was recently wrapped up with a song. It has been shot in over 160 days and the reported budget is approx. 200-250 crores. ## The makers have been tight-lipped about the movie so far, but the latest reports have revealed some key details regarding the film. It is said that "Jawan" is a VFX-heavy film and is behind only SRK's "Ra.One". It is the third highest-grossing of the year, behind Universal's "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" ($572 million) and Marvel/Disney's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" ($345 million). ## internationally, it has scored $215.9 million so far, which brings its worldwide tally to a mighty $506.3 million. It is the 4th biggest worldwide grosser after "Super Mario" ($1.3 billion), "GoTG3" ($822 million), and "Fast X" ($679 million). ## The movie opened at $208.6 million globally, including $120.5 million at the domestic box office. Mumbai, June 21 - The leading streaming platform, Netflix has made some major changes in its viewership metrics which resulted in some major shakeups in its top 10 most popular titles across categories. ## Netflix will now report in average viewership for its programming as "views", which is hours viewed divided by total runtime. The views will now decide Netflix's top 10 weekly and all-time titles though hours viewed will still be available. The streamer also has expanded the viewership measurement window from 28 days to 91 days. ## The new changes have made "Wednesday" Season 1 the most popular English show of all time on Netflix with 252.1 million views, overtaking "Stranger Things 4's" 140.7 million views. However, in terms of viewing hours, ST4 remains the most-watched English show with 1.83 billion viewing hours, followed by "Wednesday" with 1.71 billion viewing hours.## The global Korean blockbuster series "Squid Game" still remains Netflix's most popular series ever (English or Non-English), even after the shift. It scored 265.2 million views and 2.2 billion viewing hours in the first 91 days. It is the only Netflix series or film to top 2 billion viewing hours of all time. ## Among the most popular films (English or non-English), "Red Notice" remains on the top even after changes with 230.9 million views and 454.2 million viewing hours in 91 days. Among the non-English films, the Norwegian monster film "Troll" remains unchanged with 103 million views and 178.6 million views hours. ## Meanwhile, no Indian film or series features in Netflix's 10 lists even after changes. It was ALR who successfully launched the Tamil star in Hindi with the love story film "Raanjhanaa" in 2013 before the duo reunited for "Atrangi Re" (2021) which also starred Akshay Kumar in an extended cameo. ## The duo is now reuniting for an action love story, titled Tere Ishk Mein, which is set to go on floors in November this year. It is said that ALR has been working on the script for some time now. Both the actor and director have had multiple meetings over the last few months.## On Wednesday (June 21), as Raanjhanaa celebrates its 10th anniversary, the makers announced the movie officially with the first look teaser which is looking impressive from word go and promises to be another blockbuster ride.## Anand L Rai took to Twitter to make the announcement and narrates to the audiences what they are going to witness. "Kuch kahaniyan kisi purane dost jaisi mil jaati hain! Jo haath nahin milaati, seedhe aake gale lag jaati hain. 10 saal pehle ek aisi hi kahani mili thi humein... Kundan ki kahani. Sirf aapke liye... 'Tere Ishk Mein'", the filmmaker added.## ## The movie is produced by Himanshu Sharma and written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav. AR Rahman will score the music of the film. Apart from Dhanush, the makers are looking to cast an A-List actor to play the female lead and get a big ensemble on board the film. ## Meanwhile, Dhanush is currently shooting for the period action-adventure Tamil film "Captain Miller". It is set in the Madras Presidency of the 1930s and 40s. Dhanush will be sporting three different looks in the movie and the character will also have two more names.
