Japan Becomes RRR's Highest-Grossing Overseas Market At The Box Office
Tokyo, May 4 - Director SS Rajamouli's period action drama RRR continues its historical run at the Japanese box office. The movie was released in October of last year in Japan, and even after 6 months, it is playing in a handful of cinemas. ## A great example of "RRR's" longevity at the Japan box office is that it scored the biggest Monday collection on May 1, which was the 193rd day since its release. No one had thought "RRR" to come this long way, and now, Japan has become the highest-grossing overseas market for film. ## The movie has so far grossed about $14.30 million in 197 days in Japan. It might already have or be about to cross "RRR's" $14.30 million collection in the USA. The total collection of the film now stands at around 1225 crores ($149.50 million) at the worldwide box office. ## Produced by DVV Entertainment, the movie stars Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan in the lead while Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris play other key roles. It centers around fictional versions of two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Rama Rao), their friendship, and their fight against the British Raj. ## Stay tuned...
