Los Angeles, March 22 - The fourth installment of the neo-noir action thriller franchise John Wick is looking all set to conquer the box office this weekend. ## The Lionsgate/Thunder Road Films/87 Eleven's John Wick: Chapter 4 is aiming at a record opening for the franchise with $120+ million worldwide weekend. At the domestic (North America) box office, John Wick 4 is projected to start with $70+ million and about $55+ million internationally. ## The Keanu Reeves-fronted 'R' rated flick is flying high with critics' reviews. It is the best-reviewed John Wick movie among all four with a critics' score of 96% and certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. The all-important audience score too is super solid with 96% currently.## The last film of the franchise, "John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum" (2019) grossed $171 million domestically after scoring the franchise's biggest opening weekend of $57 million. Worldwide, the movie tallied $328 million, becoming the highest-grossing installment in a $589 million grossing franchise. ## Surprisingly, John Wick 4 is having very good pre-sales in India for the opening weekend. The previous 3 films in the series did a gross collection of about 20 crores, and seeing the encouraging pre-sales for the upcoming movie, it should be targeting to cross the entire franchise in the opening weekend itself. The actor wanted some time off from acting though he still wants to produce this film under his banner Aamir Khan Productions. ## A few weeks ago, Aamir reportedly offered the script to superstar Salman Khan who liked the idea initially. It held well on its second Monday for approx. 2.40 crores, pushing total net collection to over 111.50 crores in 13 days.## TJMM has entered among the top 5 highest-grossing films of Ranbir Kapoor at the domestic box office. On its second Tuesday, the movie crossed the lifetime net collection of Ranbir's "Barfi!" (112.10 crores) and "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" (113.20 crores) to become his 4th biggest net scorer. ## Produced by Luv Films and T-Series, TJMM is Ranbir's 7th 100 crores grosser. It will finish as the 4th biggest of him as it is still approx. 75 crores away from topping "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" which looks unlikely. ## Meanwhile, TJMM is the 6th 100 crores net-grossing film of Shraddha Kapoor's career. Fury of the Gods star Zachary Levi has slammed DC fandom for spreading unnecessary hate and negativity for DCEU films. ## As the SnyderVerse era is nearing its end before a new DCU will begin in earnest with Superman: Legacy under James Gunn, these changing dynamics are not going well with the passionate DC fans who are rejecting anything that is not connected to Zack Snyder's vision for DCEU.## It all began with Snyder's Cut of Justice League, which wasn't the result of organic filmmaking but extreme fan movement. Later, Warner Bros. reportedly accepted that surrendering to the fan movement was a major mistake the studio did and things went from bad to worse which forced the studio to start from the beginning. ## In the earlier, interview, Levi explained why SnyderVerse didn't prove to be good for DC as it failed to tap into a larger audience when compared to the MCU. Now, in a new interview with Josh Horowitz's The Happy Sad Confused podcast (via The Direct), Levi called out DC fandom for continuously being negative. ## "It's very very difficult. It's very difficult, but, you know, listen, I did my best, I have to accept that, I know that I did my best, and all the other stuff is out of your hands. But yeah I mean even on Twitter today, scrolling through, there's people that have released some advanced reviews, or just you know fans who have seen it, and there's this incredibly positive stuff out there. And then, of course, there's these other people, like the internet is full of, which is a very just negative to be negative people", he said.## The actor pointed out to one particular group of fans, and said, "There's a whole contingent of comic book fans that it's really unfortunate that there's this one particular group of people that think I... well, they don't like me because I don't agree with them on other comic book movies. You know who I'm talking about". ## "But instead of there being a conversation, they take up so many of my words, or things completely out of context, and then they go stir up all the other people that they know online, and they all just want to attack, and attack, and attack, and attack. And it's really sad because this is just one example of so many examples of the amount of just venom, toxicity, and bullying that goes on in these cyber dimensions", he added.## The actor's latest superhero flick, "Shazam! The movie got criticism for poor writing and direction which led to its major disappointment. ## Now, the dialogue writer of the film, Piyush Mishra opened up about its failure at the box office. In a candid chat with Hindustan Times, the veteran actor and writer said that "I also didn't understand why it didn’t work. People said it didn’t work due to the script". ## "I think we have already seen fantastic stunts so many times. Now you will have to compete with them, the revolution in the South. Baahubali was not merely CGI, it also had a very solid script. To compete with a Baahubali, you will have to write an equally brilliant script. Pushpa also had a very good script, it wasn't made just like that. Adding CGI is only beneficial when you have a solid script, CGI without a script is of no use", he added.## Though there wasn't too much criticism for dialogues, Mishra said that it's the screenplay that decides the quality of dialogues in a film. "I derive my inspiration only from the screenplay. Dialogues depend on the screenplay. It's not possible to write dialogues for a bad screenplay, at least for me it's not possible", he concludes.## Produced by Yash Raj Films on a budget of around 150 crores, Shamshera did a worldwide business of approx. 60 crores, including approx. 48 crores domestically. Shazam Fury Of The Gods Underperforms At The Worldwide Box Office

Los Angeles, March 19 - DC Studios' latest superhero movie, Shazam Fury Of The Gods fails to fly high at the domestic (North America) as well as the overseas box office and fell short of the expectations. ## The sequel to the successful 2019's film opened at number 1 on the domestic opening weekend with $30.5 million, according to Variety. It was, however, projected to start with around $40 million, which was still lower than the opening of its predecessor which debuted with $53.50 million. ## Not only just domestically, but the Shazam sequel also opened lower than expected internationally, grossing $35 million from 77 markets for a global start of $65.5 million. It was projected for, at least, an $80+ million worldwide launch. ## The buzz for Shazam 2 was already low and the critics' reviews too were against it which made the job tougher for it. It landed a B+ CinemaScore, down from the first film's A grade. And it holds 53% on Rotten Tomatoes, an epic decline from the original's 90% average. ## Among the overseas markets of Shazam 2, China leads with a $4.4 million opening weekend, followed by Mexico with $4 million and the UK with $3 million. India is the 7th biggest overseas market of the movie with a $1.2 million weekend.## Hollywood trade experts believe that Fury Of The Gods might struggle to reach even $200 million worldwide, which will be a disastrous result for a $110 million budgeted flick. ## Stay tuned...
