Directed Shankar's 'RC15' With Ram Charan and 'Indian 2' With Kamal Haasan Eye Sankranthi 2024 Release

Hyderabad, February 27 - Blockbuster director Shankar is muddling between the shoots of RC 15 and Indian 2. Telugu superstar Ram Charan's political action thriller and Kamal Haasan-fronted vigilante actioner "Indian 2" are two of the most-awaited films and director Shankar has a task in hand to deliver on both fronts.## The makers haven't locked any release date yet for both films, however, if reports are to be believed, both movies eyeing Sankranthi 2024 release in multiple languages. It is said that Ram Charan and producer Dil Raju are looking to release "RC 15" on Sankranthi at any cost as they have already faced multiple delays. ## On the other hand, "Indian 2" is produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies, and they are also aiming to release the movie during the same period to cash in on the opportunity. Since both films are being directed by Shankar, it is highly likely that the makers postponed at least one film, and it could most likely be "RC 15". ## The chances of "RC 15" not releasing on Sankranthi 2024 are high because Prabhas-fronted ambitious sci-fi actioner "Project K" with director Nag Ashwin is already placed for January 12, 2024, release. It is easily the biggest Telugu movie at the moment. Box Office: Marvel Studios 'Ant-Man 3' Suffers Record Drop In The Second Weekend

Los Angeles, February 26 - Marvel Studios and Disney's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania secured the top spot at the domestic (North America) box office for the second consecutive week but suffered a record drop. ## The superhero movie, directed by Peyton Reed, grossed an estimated $32 million on the second weekend, dropping almost 70%. The movie witnessed the biggest-ever drop in the second weekend for a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. The second on the list is "Black Panther" which dropped $44.7%. ## The total domestic gross collection of "Ant-Man 3" after the 2nd weekend reached $167.3 million. It had taken the opening of $106 million, the highest in the "Ant-Man" franchise. The lifetime collection of the film is projected to finish somewhere between $215 million - $245 million in North America. ## Meanwhile, the movie has crossed $300 million at the global box office after grossing approx. $79 million, including $46.4 million overseas in the second weekend. The total worldwide collection of the movie is now $364 million. Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo' Hits Record Pre-Release Theatrical and Non-Theatrical Business

Chennai, February 26 - The Tamil film industry witnessed one of the best years at the box office in 2022. It was the year that witnessed some of the top Indian grosser coming from Tamil cinema, in the form of "Vikram", "Ponniyin Selvan - 1", and "Beast", among others. ## After such a massive year, the Tamil industry is now looking to aim high in 2023 with some of the most-anticipated films at the Pan India level lined up for release. One of the films that are the hottest in the trade is Thalapathy Vijay's gangster drama Leo with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. ## "Leo" is arguably the most-anticipated Tamil film of the year. It marks Thalapathy Vijay's second collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj after the blockbuster "Master". Despite not much having been revealed yet about the film, there is already a huge demand for it in the trade. ## It was recently revealed that the makers have sold the non-theatrical rights of "Leo" at a record price. Now, according to Pinkvilla, the entire theatrical and non-theatrical rights of the movie have been closed at unheard prices. ## The total pre-release business including satellite, digital, music, and theatrical rights of the film is over 400 crores, which is the highest ever for a Tamil title. The worldwide theatrical rights have been locked at approx. 175 crores, including approx. 50 crores for overseas. ## Thalapathy Vijay is the only actor to have 5 films with over 60 crores share collection in Tamil Nadu state, and his upcoming movie has been valued at approx. 75 crores. The asking price for Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana are approx. 35 crore while the rest of India is pegged at a sum of 15 crores. ## The non-theatrical rights of "Leo" have been sold for approx. 240 crores. The digital rights are with Netflix which acquired for approx. 120 crores (Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada). Sun TV has bought the satellite rights of T67 for approx. 70 crores, while Sony Music has been announced as the Music Partner and it paid approx. 18 crores for the same. The Hindi dubbed prices are said to be in the range of 30 crores. ## "Leo" is produced by Seven Screen Studio. It also stars Trisha Krishnan as the female lead along with Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand, and Gautham Menen, among others in key roles. Warner Bros. Sets New 'Lord of the Rings' Movies

Pictures is going back to Middle-Earth to make multiple more Lord of the Rings films. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. has brokered a multiyear deal with rights holders Embracer Group AB which allows the studio to develop more films based on J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings books and The Hobbit. ## Embracer Group, the Swedish gaming company, acquired the rights to produce LOTR films, games, merchandise, theme park attractions, and live productions when it purchased rights holder Middle-earth Enterprises last year from The Saul Zaentz Company. ## LOTR is one of the most successful film franchises in Hollywood. There have been a total of 3 films in the LOTR franchise, directed by Peter Jackson, with a combined gross collection of $2.9 billion. Jackson's follow-up trilogy based on Tolkien's "The Hobbit" which acts as a prequel to his The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, matched those grosses. ## Warner Bros. is yet to attach filmmakers to helm the upcoming LOTR films. Meanwhile, LOTR is not the only franchise that Warner Bros. is reviving. CEO David Zaslav previously said that he would like to make a deal with author J.K.
