Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal To Play A Cameo Role In Rajinikanth's 'Jailer'

Chennai, January 6 - Superstar Rajinikanth has been shooting for director Nelson Dilipkumar's action comedy Jailer and more than half of the shoot is completed. ## Now, according to the latest reports in Kollywood, "Jailer" will have a big addition in the form of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal. It is said that Mohanlal has been brought on board to play a cameo role and he will be shooting for his portion in the coming days. ## Mohanlal will be flying down to Chennai to shoot for the film, in just a couple of days. The actor has reportedly allotted a timeline of 3 days to shoot for his portions. The movie is produced by Sun Pictures and is targeting April 2023 release. ## Meanwhile, Mohanlal has a dozen of films in the pipeline. He will next be seen in director Shaji Kailas' "Alone", which is scheduled to be released on January 26. Directed by Anil Sharma, "Gadar 2" is carrying huge buzz among the fans and they are eagerly waiting for the film's release date. ## According to reports, the shoot of "Gadar 2" is in the last leg and will be wrapped in the next couple of weeks. There have been speculations about the release date of the movie and it has been revealed that the makers have locked August 11, 2023, release date for the film during Independence Day week. ## "Gadar 2 is all set to release on August 11, 2023, coinciding with the Independence Day 2023 weekend. It's a film that celebrates the sense of being an Indian and there's no better period than Independence Day for its release. The sequel to Cameron's highest-grossing film of all time is living up to expectations, and now, becomes the number-one movie of 2022 globally. ## The sci-fi epic grossed $1.52 billion worldwide through 3rd Wednesday and becomes the highest-grossing film of 2022, surpassing Tom Cruise's "Top Gun: Maverick" which grossed $1.49 billion worldwide. The global cume includes $464 million in North America and $1.05 billion internationally through the 3rd Wednesday. ## Internationally, "Avatar 2" will surpass "Spider-Man: No Way Home" by Friday or Saturday to become the biggest grosser outside North America during the covid-19 pandemic era. PEN Studio Announces Hindi Theatrical Release of Nandamuri Balakrishna's Blockbuster 'Akhanda'

Mumbai, January 4 - Director Boyapati Srinu's Telugu action drama film Akhanda, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna is all set to release in the dubbed Hindi version on January 20.## "Akhanda" was originally released on December 2, 2021, and went to gross over 100 crores at the box office. It is NBK's biggest grosser and now, the film is getting its Hindi release, more than a year after the original release. ## Film producer Dr. Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios acquired the Hindi rights. The studio will be releasing 28 films across languages this year and one of them will be Gadar 2. It will be hitting theaters on January 11 in Tamil and Telugu. ## Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja's much-awaited action drama film Waltair Veerayya was censored recently and it got a "U/A" certificate with theatrical runtime of 155 minutes (2 hours 35 minutes). Directed by Bobby and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film is scheduled to hit screens on January 13 in Telugu and Hindi. ## Mythri Movie Makers has another biggie to release this season and that is Nandamuri Balakrishna's action entertainer Veera Simha Reddy. Hyderabad, January 3 - Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan's classic blockbuster Kushi is having a very good second outing at the box office. The film was re-released recently in limited theaters and is performing better than most of the new releases. ## Directed by S. J. Suryah, "Kushi" had the biggest first day for a Telugu re-released film with a worldwide gross collection of approx. 4.30 crores. The opening-day box office numbers of "Kushi" were pretty impressive considering the fact that the movie was originally released more than 20 years ago in 2021. ## After the big first day, "Kushi" did well on the second day as well by grossing approx. 1.60 crores worldwide. It collected another apporx. 70 lakh on Monday worldwide. The total worldwide collection for "Kushi" re-release is approx. 6.60 crores, including approx. 5.70 crores from Telugu states. ## The first three days' box office collection of "Kushi" is higher than all the new released Telugu films this past weekend, speaks the volume of Pawan Kalyan's star power. Also, it is important to note that the previous biggest opening day record for a Telugu re-released movie also belonged to Pawan Kalyan whose "Jalsa" (re-released in Sept. 2022) grossed approx. 2.60 crores worldwide. ## Produced by A.M.
