Chennai, October 31 - One of the biggest Tamil films of 2023, Thalapathy Vijay's family action drama Varisu has been in the red hot demand. The massive fan-following of Thalapathy and the fact that his low rated films have done huge collections at the box office, is tempting makers to set high prices for theatrical business.## "Varisu" is produced by Dil Raju under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations and it was recently reported that he has been asking high prices for his two upcoming films, the second film is Ram Charan's "RC15". ## According to the latest post by Aakashavaani, except for Austrailia and New Zealand, all other overseas countries' business is closed for "Varisu". Overseas rights of the film have reportedly sold out for approx. Rs. 35 crores, which is the highest ever pre-release overseas business for Thalapathy Vijay's film. ## Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, "Varisu" will also be released in Telugu as "Vaarasudu" though it will be a dubbed version as confirmed by the director himself in a recent interview. The movie has Rashmika Mandanna playing the female lead along with Prakash Raj, R. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the movie is touted to be the biggest Indian film and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make it a big-screen spectacle. ## A few weeks ago, producer C. Aswani Dutt had said that they are planning to release the film on Diwali 2023 or January 2024, and now, according to Pinkvilla, "Project K" is gearing up for a Summer 2024 release on the occasion of Eid. ## "It's a high-on VFX film, as the entire drama unfolds in the futuristic timeline. The team has created a fictional conflict of World War 3 in the film, and despite being a VFX-heavy team, the core USP of the film lies in the drama and emotions. They will take almost a year for post-production and VFX work and bring the film to the cinema halls in the Summer of 2024", reports Pinkvilla.## Vyjayanthi Movies, which is producing this one-of-its-kind Indian film, will complete 50 years in 2024 and as per reports, the studio taking this opportunity to celebrate its golden jubilee by releasing its most prestigious film. ## "The idea at the moment is to bring the film during the Eid 2024 weekend. It's a week full of Holiday as 2024 will see Eid, Ambedkar Jayanti, Tamil New Year, and Ram Navami falling in a span of 7 days", the report further said, adding that the tentative release date is April 10, 2024.## The movie has Deepika Padukone playing the female lead along with Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani in key roles. She also becomes the only artist to have five albums debut with over 1 million units sold in their first week in U.S. Nielsen history.## Midnights scores the third-biggest streaming week ever for an album, by total on-demand official streams (549.26 million). It also captures the biggest streaming week for a non-R&B/hip-hop album and any album by a woman. The makers are expected to make the official announcement of the postponement of this Om Raut's directorial in the coming days. ## "Adipurush" is currently slated for January 12, 2023, release on the occasion of Sankranthi. Sankranthi 2023 festival is jam-packed with big-budget South Indian films including Chiranjeevi's "Waltair Veerayya", and Nandamuri Balakrishna's "Veera Simha Reddy". ## It is said that the makers of "Adipurush" have been finding it difficult to get theaters in Telugu states due to multiple other releases and they have reportedly informed Telugu distributors about opting out from the Sankranthi race. ## Though the makers are yet to make the official announcement, reports say the movie will now release in the early summer of 2023. It was the first film in producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe, followed by Janhvi Kapoor's "Roohi" and the upcoming Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon's "Bhediya". ## Dinesh Vijan has reportedly been planning to introduce new characters in this horror-comedy universe and in this process, a new vampire movie with Ayushmann Khurrana and Samantha Ruth Prabhu is also in the development to start production in 2023.## Meanwhile, apart from the new characters, Maddock Films is also working on the sequel to the already established character and the first in this is the sequel to "Stree". RRR Japan Box Office Collection: Scores The Biggest First Week For An Indian Movie

Tokyo, October 29 - SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster RRR scored the biggest ever first-week collections at the Japan box office for an Indian movie. ## The period action drama film, which grossed over 1100 crores worldwide in its initial run at the worldwide box office, was released in Japan on October 21 on over 209 screens, including 31 IMAX screens across 44 locations. ## According to Variety, the big-screen spectacle grossed JPY73 million ($495K or Rs. 4.05 crores), making it the highest first-week collection for an Indian film in Japan. It opened at No. 10 and the top nine films were all local Japanese films. "RRR" was the highest-grossing non-Japanese film of this week. ## The website reported that "RRR" will recover its total release cost and will enter into a profit zone within 10 days or during the second weekend. "RRR" may enter the top 3 Indian movies of all time in Japan if it gets the long run over there. ## Superstar Rajinikanth's "Muthu" is currently the highest-grossing Indian film in Japan with JPY400 million, followed by Rajamouli's "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion", starring Prabhas, with JPY330 million, and Aamir Khan's "3 Idiots" with JPY170 million. ## Stay tuned...
