Box Office: PS-1 First Tuesday Early Estimates

Chennai, October 4 - Tamil blockbuster Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1 is a one-horse race at the box office and is racing towards the 300 crores mark globally. ## Directed by Mani Ratnam, the movie has another massive day at the domestic box office, as it grossed an estimated 26-28 crores on its first Tuesday, jumping over 20% from Monday. The total domestic gross collection has reached approx. 180 crores in just 5 days. ## As reported earlier, "PS-1" has crossed 100 crores gross mark in Tamil Nadu state and becomes the fastest film ever to achieve the milestone. It collects an estimated 19 crores on Tuesday, for a total of approx. 114 crores gross in the state. ## Meanwhile, the Hindi version of the film is surprisingly doing well and witnesses a jump of over 30% on its 5th day for an estimated 1.90 crores gross, pushing the total collection to approx 13.40 crores gross in the dubbed version. Worldwide, "PS-1" has grossed an estimated 284 crores (not counting the overseas total on Tuesday). Mumbai, October 4 - Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan's action thriller Vikram Vedha has had a decent hold on Monday for Rs. 5.39 crores. The movie witnesses a jump of approx. 10% on the first Tuesday for an estimated 6 crores net. ## The jump on the first Tuesday is not big but considering the working day, the jump is a good sign for the film going forward. It also benefits due to the Dussehra holiday tomorrow as the night shows are stronger than yesterday. ## "Vikram Vedha" grossed 74 crores worldwide in the first four days, and including today's collection, the total collection has raced past 80 crores. The movie will see further jump tomorrow and all of sudden, the collection will look good. Hyderabad, October 4 - Director Mohan Raja is coming with another remake film Godfather with Megastar Chiranjeevi. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters worldwide on October 5th in Telugu and Hindi. Mohan Raja is known as the remake king as 7 of his 9 previous directorial films were remade, and except for one film, all have been big hits at the box office. ## "Godfather" is Mohan Raja's only second Telugu film, despite the fact that he made his debut with the Telugu movie, titled "Hanuman Junction" in 2001. It was his Tamil movie "Thani Oruvan" (the first film with an original story) that was later remade in Telugu with Ram Charan under the title of "Dhruva".## "Dhruva" was released in 2016, and now, Mohan Raja is in talks with Ram Charan for its sequel. The sequel of the movie has been in discussion for a long time now, and now, producer NV Prasad, who produced "Dhruva", confirmed that early development for the sequel. Prabhas And Om Raut Talk About 'Adipurush' Being The Most Precious Film

Mumbai, October 4 - The teaser of Prabhas-fronted Adipurush was launched recently and it met with mixed reactions from the fans and critics. Directed by Om Raut, Adipurush is one of the most-awaited Indian films, but it seems the makers will have to spend more time on certain things to correct them before the final output is ready. ## "Adipurush" is Raut's take on the Hindu epic "Ramayana", by Valmiki, where Rama, the king of Ayodhya, travels to Lanka to rescue his wife Sita, who has been abducted by the king Ravana. The movie is set 7,000 years ago and in the film, Prabhas' character is not called Rama, he is Raghav, another name for Rama. Sita, played by Kriti Sanon, is called Janaki, while Saif Ali Khan's Ravana is Lankesh. ## Om Raut, in a recent interview with Variety, said that Prabhas was always his first choice for Raghav's character. "If it was not him, I would have not made the film", the filmmaker said and added that he designed the character to move beyond the "Prabhas persona". ## "The way he has played it is divine. It's extremely spiritual on many levels, yet at the same time, it's a commercial flick. So, it has that crazy balance of playing to the gallery, obviously, like everybody does, but at the same time, we had to maintain the sanctity and purity of the character and stay within that boundary and try to achieve what we want to achieve", Raut added.## It was not easy for Prabhas' to say yes to the movie because he thought it's the most precious film for the country and he had doubts if he could do justice to the character. But it was Raut who convinced him and asked not to worry about Raghav's role.## "Om designed the film for the present generation and wanted a swagger, which no other director could think of Adipurush like that. He designed it for kids and families. Even women love my action, so there's a lot of action. And, he designed it in a commercial way, so I think it's very happy news for the fans", Prabhas said.## Produced by T-Series and Retrophiles, "Adipurush" is scheduled to release on January 12, 2023, in Hindi, and Telugu along with dubbed versions of Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. The Madras High Court Orders Blocking Over 13K Websites To Prevent 'Vikram Vedha' Piracy

Mumbai, October 3 - Superstar Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan's action thriller Vikram Vedha is playing in theaters and doing decent business. While the makers are encouraging the audience to the film in theaters, there have been reports of the film getting leaked online. ## It has been reported that movie has been leaked online through various websites, and to prevent such activities, the Madras High Court has taken a big decision. ## According to Law Beat, the court recently passed an interim injunction restraining websites, including several unidentified ones, from infringing any copyright pertaining to "Vikram Vedha". Over 13,000 websites have been blocked to prevent piracy.## Reliance Entertainment Studio, the co-producer of the film filed a suit before the high court stating that it had invested substantial sums of money in the production of the film that had been released on over 4,000 screens across the country. ## Justice M Sundar passed the order on September 30, stating that the interim injunction shall operate for a period of six weeks. The court also ordered that the websites or any individual person must not record or reproduce any part of the film to make it available for public viewing, duplication, or distribution. ## Meanwhile, "Vikram Vedha", directed by Pushkar–Gayathri, grossed over 65 crores in the opening weekend at the worldwide box office. Chennai, October 3 - Mani Ratnam's epic period action drama film Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1 is re-writing box office records for a Tamil movie and putting up a remarkable show. ## After the record-breaking opening weekend, the cinematic adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel of the same name, witnesses an excellent hold on its first Monday as it drops just around 50% from Sunday. It grossed an estimated 23 crores for all languages, pushing total domestic gross collection to over 150 crores. ## In Tamil Nadu, "PS-1" is going berserk. After grossing a record-breaking 78.9 crores in the opening weekend, the movie scored an estimated 17 crores on Monday, taking the total gross collection to over 95 crores in the state. Hyderabad, October 3 - Megastar Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan's political action drama film Godfather is getting ready for its worldwide release on October 5 on the occasion of Dussehra. Directed by Mohan Raja, "Godfather" is the official remake of the 2019 Malayalam film "Lucifer". ## Chiranjeevi's last film "Acharya" was bombed at the box office and caused heavy losses to the distributors. This time, the investors haven't gone too far in grabbing the theatrical rights of "Godfather", and as a result, it is the lowest valued Chiranjeevi film in recent years. ## According to the latest Telugu trade reports, "Godfather" pre-release worldwide theatrical business has been valued at Rs. 91 crores. "Acharya" was valued at Rs. 131 crores while "Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy" fetched Rs. 187 crores before release. ## Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana area business of "Godfather" has been valued at Rs. 70.50 crores while Karnataka state and overseas rights have been valued at approx. Hyderabad, October 3 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan's political action thriller film with director S. Shankar is set to be postponed from its 2023 release. The movie marks their first collaboration and it also stars Kiara Advani as the female lead. ## Tentatively titled RC15, the movie was being shot at a brisk pace, however, the shoot suddenly slowed down after Shankar resumed the shoot of Kamal Haasan's long-delayed Indian 2. It has been reported that Shankar wants to finish "Indian 2" as soon as possible on a priority basis and this has delayed the shooting of Ram Charan's film. ## According to Mirchi 9, Shankar will shoot only two short schedules of "RC15" this year and the remaining portion will be shoot next year. The report says that the movie is unlikely to release next year, and will now hit theaters in 2024, most likely on the Sankranthi occasion. ## With the shoot of "RC15" set to be delayed, it is a possibility that Ram Charan may take another film with a different director. Chennai, October 2 - Mani Ratnam's blockbuster title Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1 is on a rampage mode at the domestic box office and has a bigger third day than the opening day collection. ## The movie, based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel of the same name, registered excellent occupancy throughout the first weekend as it surpassed 200 crores at the worldwide box office in just 3 days. It scored an estimated 43-45 crores gross on its first Sunday, pushing the total domestic box office to approx. 125 crores. ## The epic period action drama film has created an all-time record in Tamil Nadu for the opening weekend. With an estimated 27 crores gross on its third day, the movie's total gross collection in the state has reached approx. 78 crores which is the highest ever first weekend total in the state. ## The dubbed Hindi version of the film continues to see an upward trend and scored an estimated 3.50 crores net on Sunday. The total Hindi collection has reached approx. 8.50 crores net (10 crores gross).
