After 'Brahmastra', Ticket Prices For 'Chup', And 'Avatar' Reduce To Rs. 100

Mumbai, September 25 - The makers of psychological crime thriller Chup have reduced the ticket prices of the film from Monday (September 26) along with James Cameron's Avatar re-release and R. Madhavan's Dhokha: Round D Corner. ## The aforementioned films will be available to purchase for Rs. 100-110 in most theaters. The makers haven't made the official announcement regarding reducing ticket prices of the film but it seems, the decision came after Brahmastra Part One: Shiva makers confirmed that the film can be watched in just Rs. 100+GST from Monday to Thursday. ## Reducing ticket prices could largely benefit "Chup", "Avatar", and "Brahmastra" as these films have found acceptance among the audience. It has been a long cry within the film industry that movie ticket prices should be kept low so that large audiences can afford them, and the latest development suggests the makers are finally looking for course correction. ## Director R. Balki's "Chup" has scored well in the first two days and earned 5.13 crores net. The opening day witnessed higher footfalls than the second day due to the National Cinema Day, on which ticket prices were made available for just Rs. 75. The reviews and word of mouth are positive for this film. ## On the other hand, the "Avatar" re-release has also scored well in the first two days with approx. 4.50 crores net. Bengaluru, September 25 - The leading Kannada production house, Hombale Films is gearing up for the release of its next production, Kantara, starring Rishab Shetty in the lead role. It will be the studio's first release since the mega-blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2 and the studio is looking to score another success with the upcoming movie. ## The Vijay Kiragandur-headed studio announced via social media that the makers will hold special screenings outside the home state, Karnataka. The ticket prices were kept as low as Rs. 75 on NCD, and as a result, the movie recorded occupancy of over 85% throughout the day in cinemas. ## Thanks to the Housefull boards all across the country, Brahmastra witnessed a jump of approx. 250% to score the biggest third Friday of all time in the Hindi language at the box office. Los Angeles, September 25 - Wrestler-turned Hollywood actor John Cena continues to win hearts and adds another accolade to his hat. ## The "Peacemaker" star has officially broken the Guinness World Record for the most Make-A-Wish Foundation wishes granted. Cena is the most requested Make-A-Wish celebrity and he has granted 650 wishes to date, which is a world record, Guinness announced.## When he was honored for granting 500 wishes in 2015, Cena opened up about the foundation and how much he enjoys doing what he does. "I just drop everything. If I can offer a fantastic experience, I'll be first in line to do my part", Cena said at that time, according to The Hollywood Reporter.## John Cena, who has now become a popular DC film star for playing Peacemaker, has been granting wishes since 2002, a few years after he began his career as a professional wrestler. He went on to become one of the most loved wrestlers ever, especially among children. ## "I want them (kids) to have an experience that will stay with them forever. Chennai, September 25 - Director Lokesh Kangaraj's action thriller film Kaithi starring Karthi was a smash hit in Tamil and grossed over 100 crores at the worldwide box office. The movie is now getting ready for its sequel and this time, it will be bigger in scale and budget. ## Director Lokesh confirmed that he will start working on the Kaithi sequel after Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming film and in one of the recent interviews during Viruman promotions, Karthi confirmed that the sequel will go on floors by the second half of 2023. ## And now the actor, during Ponniyin Selvan 1 promotions, revealed that the scale and budget of the film will be 10 times bigger than the first part. While the official budget of the first part, which was released in 2019, wasn't revealed, it is believed to be approx. 25 crores, so the sequel could cost over 200 crores in the making. ## The sequel of Kaithi will focus on Dilli's (Karthi) backstory. "Dilli is a Kabbadi player and in jail, he won many cups by playing Kabaddi. In Kaithi, there is a bag with Dilli that contains a lot of cups he won from playing Kabaddi. I didn't explore this in the 1st part but in Kaithi 2 I will explore this background story", Lokesh had said previously. ## Kaithi 2 would take forward director's Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), which began with its predecessor and the second film in it was Kamal Haasan's mega-blockbuster, Vikram, which was released earlier this year. Los Angeles, September 25 - Filmmaker James Cameron's Avatar re-release brings a sweet surprise at the box office as it has become the biggest opener ever in Hollywood history for a re-release movie. The 4K remastered version of this 2009 sci-fi blockbuster was re-released in North America and internationally on September 23. ## At the domestic (North America) box office, the movie was released in 1860 theaters and grossed a strong $3.3 million on Friday, which is the highest opening ever for a re-release in North America, beating "Avengers: Endgame's" 1.9 million from 2025 theatres. "Avatar" is eyeing $10M-$13M in the opening weekend, according to trade expert Luiz Fernando. ## Meanwhile, at the overseas box office, "Avatar" rerelease has grossed $7.7 million after grossing $4.2 million on Friday. Mumbai, September 24 - The first ever India's National Cinema Day turned out to be a money spinner for director Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, which scored the biggest ever third Friday of all time in Hindi languages. ## Thanks to the cheap ticket prices which were as low as Rs. 75 on National Cinema Day, "Brahmastra" registered an occupancy of over 85% for the day which helped to score 10.79 crores net for all languages. The original Hindi version alone minted 10.70 crores which is the biggest 3rd Friday collection in Hindi. ## There have been only films in the history to register 10+ crores 3rd Friday collection in Hindi, the other one is director Rajamouli's all-time biggest Hindi grosser Bahubali - The Conclusion, which made 10.05 crores net in 2017.
