Mumbai, September 21 - Akshay Kumar-fronted highly-awaited action adventure film Ram Setu is getting ready for its worldwide release on October 25 in theaters. The Abhishek Sharma-directed film has kept tight lips so far regarding the updates, but now, with just over 1 month to go for release, the makers are planning extensive promotion. ## According to Pinkvilla, "Ram Setu" makers will kick-start promotional activities by launching the first look teaser on Monday (September 26). ## "It's going to be a digital launch for the first look. It's more than just a teaser, but not exactly a trailer. The makers will be unveiling an audio-visual unit introducing the audience to the world of Ram Setu for the first and kick off the countdown to the Diwali 2022 release", reports Pinkvilla. ## Produced by Cape of Good Films, Abundantia Entertainment, Amazon Prime Video, and Lyca Productions, the plot of the movie involves an archaeologist, who has set out to check out whether Ram Setu is a myth or a reality. It is said that the makers have submitted first look teaser to CBFC and it is expected to be passed without much of an issue. ## The makers are believed to be very confident about the movie and the report claims that the visuals will speak louder than anything else. The Joy of Movie-Viewing In Cinema Halls Returns To Jammu And Kashmir

Srinagar, September 21 - For the first time in nearly 30 years, the movie-going experience returns to Kashmir as multiple theaters have been inaugurated by Lt governor Manoj Sinha. The government of India is adamant to open theaters in every district of J&K as a part of the socio-economic revolution in the valley.## While inaugurating the 520-seater multiplex theatre in Srinagar, Sinha said land has been identified for developing a film city in the Union Territory (UT). It is Kashmir's first INOX multiplex with a total capacity of 520 persons.## Congratulating the people, Vijay Dhar, owner of the multiplex and INOX Group on the occasion, the Lt Governor said that a major socio-economic revolution is sweeping through J&K in the last 3 years and it is a reflection of a new dawn of hope, dreams, confidence, and aspirations of people, he added.## A couple of days ago, Sinha inaugurated multipurpose cinema halls in the South Kashmir districts of Shopian and Pulwama. Films like "RRR" and "Bhaag Mikha Bhaag" were shown to the people, including students of their respective districts. It was their first-time movie-watching experience in theaters and the joy of it was clearly visible on their faces. ## The Lt Governor observed that the opening of multipurpose cinema halls in Shopian, Pulwama, and the first-ever multiplex cinema hall in Srinagar marks the revival of cinema culture in the Kashmir Valley after three decades.## "Culture is a way of life and cinema being the powerful medium of sharing thoughts and ideas reflects societal values and change. Cinema brings people together. Apart from entertainment, it gives hopes, dreams, and inspiration to youth to pursue their dreams till they realize it", he said.## "Young generations have a strong urge to see a better society, to learn about other cultures, to become part of an interdependent world. And, it is the responsibility of the administration to provide them opportunities and support. The new cinema halls and ongoing film shootings will renew the beautiful bond between Jammu Kashmir and the Indian film industry.## "New film policy has been rolled out with special provisions and incentives for encouraging local youth to take up the film as a career. We are in talks with various stakeholders and have identified the land for developing Film City in the UT and the facility will come up in the UT soon", Sinha added.## Siddharth Jain, Executive Director, INOX Group, while speaking on the occasion, said that the launch of the new multiplex theatre in Kashmir will make the region to be a part of the country's creative economy and contribute to strengthening the soft power of the country.## The 3-screen INOX multiplex will be opened next week with Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan-fronted "Vikram Vedha" and Mani Ratnam's mega movie "PS1", which are scheduled to release on September 30. ## Stay tuned...

The website has reported that season 1 of the series is averaging a mammoth 29 million viewers per episode across its first five episodes. ## "House of the Dragon" is showing the sign of going the "Game of Thrones" way, which averaged more than 44 million viewers per episode for its eighth and final season in 2019. ## According to Nielsen (via Variety), 2.576 million people tuned into the 5th episode on HBO itself, a 4% increase when compared to last week's 2.474 million cable viewers. ## The show, "House of the Dragon", is the biggest series premiere ever for HBO Max after the first episode was watched by nearly 10 million people across all platforms. Mumbai, September 20 - The Film Federation of India has picked the acclaimed Gujarati film Chhello Show (Last Film Show) for India's official entry for Oscars 2023. ## The news about India's official Oscar entry has left many movie fans in India disappointed as they were hoping that SS Rajamouli's globally appreciated film RRR would get the nod from the Indian jury. The movie, however, can still get an Oscar nomination in the general category, and the USA distributor of the film, Variance Films will be running a campaign for the same. ## Variance Films president Dylan Marchetti said that "RRR" will receive a significant Best Picture campaign, but he also saw the potential for Best Original Song ("Naatu Naatu"), in addition to cinematography, production design, editing, and many other categories. ## The hashtag "#RRRforOscars" has been trending on Twitter for the past week here in India. "The only thing this news changes is one less award we can go after (Best International Film)", Marchetti said, a few hours after the Indian decision was announced (via Indiewire). "There's a dozen-plus other we can go for now. This film is the whole package".## "RRR" continues to play at theaters in Brooklyn and Philadelphia, with additional cities booked through the end of the year in the USA. "I don't think 'RRR' is the best movie from India this year", Marchetti said. "It's the best movie in the world this year. We're going to conduct ourselves accordingly".## Variance Films may be willing to run an Oscar campaign for the movie but it will require a significant and time-intensive push to keep the movie at the forefront of conversations for these categories as the season heats up. Mumbai, September 20 - India has picked Gujarati-language coming-of-age drama film Chhello Show (Last Film Show) as India's official entry to the Best International Feature Film category at the 95th Academy Awards. ## Directed by Pan Nalin, the movie follows a nine-years-old Samay from Chalala, a village in Saurashtra in the Gujarat state of India, who entered a cinema hall projection booth by bribing Fazal, a cinema projector technician, and watched several films through summer. He became engrossed with cinema for life. ## The movie received massive critical acclaim. Indiewire's David Ehrlich called the movie a "coming-of-age story" with "an ethereal take on the magic of movies". Prahlad Srihari of Firstpost called the film "an ode to movie-going, as movie-making" while Tanzeem Pardiwalla of Mashable India rated it 5 out of 5. She praised the direction, cinematography, theme, story, and performances.## "Chhello Show" won the Golden Spike for Best Film at the 66th Valladolid Film Festival (Seminci) held in October 2021. It was nominated for the Tiantan Awards at the 11th Beijing International Film Festival. Los Angeles, September 20 - The Oscar-winning filmmaker James Cameron revealed in a recent interview that he had to disagree with 20th Century Fox Studio to keep his all-time biggest blockbuster Avatar 162 minutes long. ## The filmmaker, in an interview with New York Times, revealed that 20th Century Fox Studio wanted him to trim the movie's flying sequences to keep it shorter. Cameron, however, obviously rejected the studio's notes by telling executives that he directed "Titanic" and thus paid for a large portion of the 20th Century Fox studio lot.## "I think I felt, at the time, that we clashed over certain things", Cameron said to NYT (via Variety). "For example, the studio felt that the film should be shorter and that there was too much flying around on the ikran โ€” what the humans call the banshees. ## "Well, it turns out that's what the audience loved the most, in terms of our exit polling and data gathering. And that's a place where I just drew a line in the sand and said, 'You know what? I made 'Titanic'. This building that we're meeting in right now, this new half-billion dollar complex on your lot?
