One Man Believed In KGF And It Created History: Mahesh Manjrekar

Mumbai, September 15 - Filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar spoke highly about Kannada's blockbuster film franchise KGF and called it the industry-saving film. The filmmaker graced a star-studded event, held at a five-star hotel in Mumbai on September 14, where some of the most prominent personalities of Marathi cinema were present. ## Mahesh Manjrekar was speaking in the context of giving more importance to regional cinema and said that the Kannada industry is the prime example of it, which, the filmmaker believed, was changed because of one person. ## "Some years back, the condition of the Kannada film industry was such that it seemed like it would shut down anytime. But there was one person who believed in making a film and spending a lot of money on it. That person (probably referring to producer Vijay Kiragandur) made a film named KGF and it created history.## "What makes me happy is that they didn't make both parts of KGF in Hindi. They shot the film in Kannada, dubbed it in Hindi aur fir audience ke sir ke upar feka!", he said, according to Bollywood Hungama. ## "I envy these guys. I would have loved to do something like this. It is superb", the "Antim" director added. "We have to shout from the rooftops that Marathi cinema is (also) great. There's no dearth of talent when it comes to Marathi cinema. Then what is it that we are lacking? We also need people who believe in our vision. It's crucial that we make big-scale films, that too with conviction and confidence".## The filmmaker further said that investors should also believe in Marathi cinema and its filmmaker like Vijay Kiragandur believed in director Prashanth Neel's vision and Yash's confidence, called KGF. "Somebody has to believe in us and spend money, like the way KGF producers did. I mean, come on, KGF - Chapter 2 collected Rs. 1000 crores! Can you imagine?", he added.## "KGF" was released in 2018 and went on to become the highest-grossing Kannada film of all time before its sequel came in 2022 and shattered box office records at the Pan India level. Released in April 2022, "KGF: Chapter 2" grossed over 1200 crores worldwide, including approx. 1000 crores in India alone. Mumbai, September 15 - A couple of days, it was reported that producer Firoz Nadiadwala has been working on bringing epic Mahabharta to the big screen. The report claimed that he is looking to cast some of the biggest names in Bollywood cinema and is planning to take it on floors by 2024. ## Now, according to the latest reports, the producer is indeed working on this epic project and it will be released in 20 languages worldwide as he wants to make Indian cinema's first Pan world movie. According to Pinkvilla, "the core star-cast of the film will comprise of Indian actors but the technical team will boast of international names". ## The report has claimed that one of the insiders has seen the pre-production aspects of Nidiawala's film and claims that this would be the biggest Indian film to date. "The screenplay has been devised as per multiple technical facets based on their role. Every department will have a script as per their responsibility". ## As reported earlier, it will be shot in 5D with an estimated budget of Rs 700 crore. "Mahabharat will go on floors by 2024 and hit the big screen by December 2025. Prabhas' 'Project K' Is A Futuristic Sci-Fi Actioner With A 'Mahabharta' Connection

Hyderabad, September 15 - Superstar Prabhas is currently working on two of the most expensive and anticipated Indian films - Adipurush and Project K. ## The "Adipurush" shoot is done and the movie is ready for release on January 12, 2023. However, director Nag Ashwin's "Project K", co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone, is only half done and the remaining shoot will be completed by the first quarter of 2023. ## "Project K" is touted to be the biggest Indian action spectacle which is set in the future and revolves around the timeline of World War 3. It is a futuristic action drama on the line of the time travel concept. ## If reports are to be believed, the movie has a strong connection with the Hindu epic "Mahabharata", where Amitabh Bachchan's character is inspired by Ashwathama. In Mahabharata, Ashwathama became a Chiranjivi (immortal) due to a curse given to him by Lord Krishna.## "Project K" will reportedly have as many as 5 prolonged action blocks and in a one-of-its-kind strategy, the producers have hired multiple action directors to design the epic battle to unfold on the screen. Amitabh Bachchan will also be seen doing proper action sequences alongside Prabhas in the film. The movie is being shot like a Hollywood film with a blue and green screen set up, according to Pinkvilla. ## That's not all, every schedule of the film is followed by a break since the director Nag Ashwin, and his team is working on the editing of the sequences shot in every leg of the shoot, to make sure they create something magical that will be remembered for a long long time. ## The movie is being produced by C. Aswani Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies and it also stars Disha Patani in a key role. Producer Dutt recently revealed that they are planning to release the movie in either October 2023 or January 2024. Hyderabad, September 15 - After the debacle box office performance of Acharya, Megastar Chiranjeevi is gearing up for the release of his next, titled Godfather. The remake of the Malayalam movie "Lucifer", the upcoming film also stars Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and Nayanthara in key roles. ## According to the latest reports, "Godfather" will be released by the producers themselves as Chiranjeevi has reportedly prevented them to sell the distribution rights of the movie for both domestic and overseas markets. ## "Godfather" is produced by RB Choudary and NV Prasad while the presenter is Konidela Productions banner. According to greatandhra.com, Chiranjeevi has advised the producers not to sell the film at higher prices but only release it against advances. NV Prasad is believed to be very close to Chiranjeevi and he has his own distribution network. ## Megastar Chiranjeevi's last two films - "Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy" and "Acharya" didn't work out at the box office. While "Sye Raa" was still a decent box office outing, "Acharya" did cause huge losses to the distributors which might have forced Chiranjeevi to think differently for "Godfather" or he might have anticipated the movie to become a sure-shot hit. ## "Godfather" is a political action film directed by Mohan Raja. It also stars Satyadev Kancharana, Puri Jagannadh, Murali Sharma, Samuthirakani, and Tanya Ravichandran among others in key roles. Mumbai, September 14 - It took nearly a decade for director Ayan Mukerji to bring the first part of the planned Brahmastra trilogy to the big screen, but the second part, titled Brahmastra Part Two: Dev will be back on the big screen, faster with more love and light. ## There have already been several fan theories going on regarding the sequel after the first part left enough for the fans to keep guessing. It was released in cinemas on September 9 and smashed box office records, setting the stage perfectly for part 2 "Dev". ## Director Ayan Mukerji, in an interview with Indian Express, revealed that he has already written the script for the remaining two parts, which were completely dependent on the acceptance of part one "Shiva". Despite the mixed reviews, the movie found acceptance among the audiences which paved the way for the next film in the trilogy. ## There has not been set a release date timeline for "Brahmastra 2", but the director has planned to bring it in nearly 3 years in 2025. Ayan revealed that Part 2 will chronicle Dev's backstory as well as continue the present-day timeline. It is not yet known who will play Dev's role but rumors suggest it could be either Hrithik Roshan, Ranveer Singh, or Ranbir Kapoor. ## "I can answer very few things about Dev. The idea was to create a very clear indication of where we are going next with the storytelling. Now we are really getting into the story of our antagonist. Decoding it, giving you some hook to hang on to for part two. Dev is the fulcrum of the entire Brahmastra trilogy", Ayan said. ## According to the filmmaker, Brahmastra 2 will switch between the past and the present and showcase how Dev impacts the universe. ## "The problems that this community and the world will face because of Brahmastra, what is the real stress with it? All of this will actually unfold in Dev's story. His story is meant to take us back into his past but also he has returned to the present.
