Hyderabad, September 2 - The disastrous box office performance of Liger has shocked Vijay Deverakonda and director Puri Jagannadh that they have reportedly decided to make necessary changes in the script of their second collaboration JGM. ## According to the reports, the actor-director duo is revisiting and working on the script for JGM, before embarking on the Morocco schedule later this year. It is said that they are also considering the budget of the movie and want to keep it in check, unlike "Liger" which cost over 100 crores. A lot of changes are likely to happen in the script.## Meanwhile, in other news, it has been reported that after the huge failure of "Liger", Puri Jagannadh has shelved "JGM" for now and is looking to work on "iSmart Shankar 2". However, this is not true as JGM is very much happening and the shoot was already started earlier this year. There are also no confirmed reports about the "iSmart Shankar" sequel. ## Vijay Deverakonda will soon resume the shooting of the romantic-comedy "Kushi", co-starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the movie is scheduled to release on Christmas this year. After wrapping up "Kushi", VD will resume "JGM". ## Puri Jagannadh, in a recent interview, revealed that he first offered "JGM" to superstar Mahesh Babu nearly a decade ago, but things didn't materialize back then and it was put on hold before it got revived with VD. Amazon Prime Video's 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' Has Nearly 10,000 VFX Shots

Los Angeles, September 2 - Amazon Prime Video's fantasy television series based on the novel The Lord of the Rings, The Rings of Power has dropped the first two episodes worldwide. Unsurprisingly, the series has been hailed as a visual wonder, thanks to the thousands of VFX shots from multiple VFX Studios. ## According to Variety, over 20 visual effects studios and 1500 visual effects artists across the globe came together to deliver Amazon's mega-series. Companies such as Industrial Light & Magic, Weta FX, and DNEG provided close to 10,000 VFX shots to revive middle-earth in the best possible manner. ## The series is set thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Ring. It begins during a time of relative peace and covers all the major events of Middle-earth's Second Age: the forging of the Rings of Power, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the fall of the island kingdom of Númenor, and the last alliance between Elves and Men. These events take place over thousands of years in Tolkien's original stories but are condensed for the series. ## "The Rings of Power" is made for the streamer but the series has been designed to play like a theatrical experience. VFX producer Ron Ames said, "Our target was the 65-inch screen at home, but we made it so that it would play technically beautifully in everything up to an IMAX screen. It is finished to a theatrical resolution". ## "LOTR: The Rings of Power" is the costliest television series ever. Amazon Prime bought the television rights for the series for a whopping US$250 million in November 2017, making a five-season production commitment worth at least US$1 billion. Tollywood Re-Introduces 8-Week Theatrical Window For All The Movies

Hyderabad, September 1 - The Tollywood film industry has re-introduced an 8-week theatrical window for all the films, releasing after September 10th. The decision was taken by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce after multiple meetings over the last couple of weeks. ## The Telugu film chamber also announced in a statement that a film's satellite and streaming partner will not be mentioned in the film titles/theatrical release publicity. ## It has been observed that filmmakers revealed their films' satellite and OTT partners before the start of the film in theaters, which may have tempted moviegoers to wait for the OTT release of the film which was within 28 days of theatrical release till now. ## The film chamber has also decided to cancel the per-day payment system for the artists/technicians from September 10th. All artists' remuneration shall include - staff, local transport, local accommodation, special food, etc. ## Meanwhile, the film chamber hasn't reached any conclusion regarding the VPF charges despite multiple meetings. Mumbai, September 1 - One of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters of the year, Everything Everywhere All at Once, starring Michelle Yeoh is finally coming to the Indian theaters. The absurdist comedy-drama is the highest-grossing film for A24 studio with over $100 million worldwide against the budget of $25 million. ## Ever since the film was released in March of this year, the fans in India have been enquiring about its release in the country. And now, the Mumbai-based Impact Films is bringing this film to the Indian audiences and has set September 16, 2022, release date. ## Directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, "Everything Everywhere All at Once" received some high praise from critics and it is one of the serious contenders for the next year's Academy Awards. ## "The film has been passed by CBFC without any cuts thereby ending the reservations and curiosity of several audiences who were worried as to what might get chopped off. It's now the same version that's being watched worldwide", said Ashwani Sharma, CEO, Impact Films. ## "We were very clear right from the beginning that we are going to release this film on big screens rather than going straight to digital platforms as this film is a rare cinematic experience that needs to be enjoyed only in theaters. It is reported that the distributors are in big shock as they invested a lot of money in the hope that it will give them the best return, which is not going to happen. ## However, in a gloomy time for the distributors, director Puri Jagannadh is once again coming to their rescue and taking full responsibility for the film's failure. Hyderabad, August 31 - Actor Nikhil Siddhartha's mystery action-adventure film Karthikeya 2 has entered the coveted 100 crores gross club at the worldwide box office with today's collection, becomes only the 4th Telugu movie of 2022 to achieve the milestone after Bheemla Nayan, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, and RRR. ## Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, "Karthikeya 2" has had trouble getting released in theaters but it overcame all the challenges to become one of the biggest blockbusters in Telugu cinema. For a medium-range Telugu movie, "Karthikeya 2" is only the second film of all time in Tollywood cinema to reach the 100 crores mark after Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna's "Geetha Govindam". ## However, unlike "Geetha Govindam", K2 has had simultaneous Hindi release with the Telugu version and it has hugely benefitted from the Hindi version with a gross collection of approx. 30 crores, in addition to approx. 58 crores in the Telugu version at the domestic box office.
