London, August 14 - British author, JK Rowling, best known for the fantasy book series "Harry Potter", has received a death threat on Twitter after she condemned the attack on author Salman Rushdie at a literary event at the Chautauqua Institution in Western New York. ## Salman Rushdie, who faced death threats for years after writing "The Satanic Verses", was stabbed by a 24-year-old New Jersey resident identified as Hadi Matar (according to NDTV), the US national of Lebanese origin, on stage on Friday. ## JK Rowling condemned this attack and tweeted expressing horror at the attempt on 75-year-old Rushdie's life. "Horrifying news. Feeling very sick right now. Let him be ok", she had posted.## A user commented on this post, saying "Don't worry you are next." The social comedy drama was one of the biggest hits of 2019 and also received critical acclaim. ## Recently, it was reported that Dream Girl 2, is in development and now, the makers have roped in the female lead along with other important casts. While Nushrat Bharucha played the leading lady in the first part, the makers have reportedly roped in Ananya Pandey this time to romance Ayushmann Khurrana in the sequel. ## It will be the first time pairing Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Pandey. Mumbai, August 14 - Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is in the line to join producer Dinesh Vijan's horror comedy universe. The actor has done path-breaking films in his respected career so far but he hasn't explored the horror-comedy genre. ## According to peepingmoon.com, Ayushmann will be doing Vijan's next horror-comedy and will reunite the actor with his "Bala" director Amar Kaushik for the same. It is said that Ayushmann and Kaushik have been looking to collaborate for their next project and they have finally cracked the idea. ## The reports say that the film expands Vijan's proposed horror-comedy cinematic universe. The actor reportedly has given his nod and will sign the dotted lines after the final narration. The movie is likely to go on floors next year. ## Dinesh Vijan has been developing his own cinematic universe in horror-comedy and Ayushmann's film will be the 4th installment in the universe. The producer of the film Vyjayanthi Movies has announced on social media that the film will be released soon in the 4K Print. ## "Indra", directed by B. Gopal, was the highest-grossing Telugu film of that time. It grossed over 40 crores worldwide and is considered a milestone film in Telugu cinema. The film stars Chiranjeevi, Sonali Bendre, and Aarthi Agarwal, while Sivaji, Mukesh Rishi, and Prakash Raj play supporting roles with music composed by Mani Sharma.## The action drama film was dubbed and released in Tamil as "Indhiran" and in Hindi as "Indra: The Tiger". Mumbai, August 14 - The largest Indian film industry, Bollywood is going through a crisis and things are getting worse with each passing film. The reasons why Bollywood films aren't getting successful at the box office are mixed. One of the main reasons Bollywood films are failing is over the top remuneration of actors which is leading to weakening the quality of film's content. ## There has been chatter about how the film's quality is being compromised to keep the budget in check amid the high fees of actors. It is a sad reality of the Hindi film industry that many actors, who debuted in the last 10-15 years, are asking for high remuneration while the lifetime collection of their films ends up below what they have been asking for. ## The high asking price of actors to star in the movie is definitely a major concern, but it is not the only thing Bollywood needs to correct. Filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt believes that while stars' fees is a concern, the entire economics on which the film industry is operating today is wrong amid the emergence of OTT platforms. ## Mahesh Bhatt said that production houses have paid "such ridiculous fees" to actors because the OTT platforms were offering ludicrous deals to them. However, it proved to be a short-term gain as OTT platforms have pulled back from offering big deals to the filmmakers which have left the industry in a big mess. ## "Nobody was concerned with making a movie, everybody was doing arithmetic and considering which star to cast so that the film can be sold to OTT and satellite and make big bucks. The best of people make the worst of mistakes. The time has come to correct the mistake. The stars don't deserve the kind of money they are charging, because their films don’t have that kind of opening", Mahesh Bhatt told ETimes. ## Producer Ratan Jain said that there was a time when films used to be produced by an independent producer so the stars' fees were not a major concern. However, ever since the corporates came in, they started throwing money like water, leading to a significant rise in the prices of actors which has done huge damage to the industry. ## Mukesh Bhatt agreed with Jain and said that "corporates destroyed the industry by pumping huge amounts of money without any understanding of filmmaking. And now they have all shut down, so a correction is bound to happen. When you do business with the wrong economics, then it cannot sustain. The independent producers became like white tigers. Because the independent producers and distributors didn't have that kind of deep pockets to invest that kind of money".## Akshay Kumar reflects on the idea and says, "A lot of people are bothered by the lack of big box office numbers and such people believe that things need to be changed. I have always believed that the monetary aspect of cinema should first be aimed at the film's writer because he/she is the most important person on the project. The biggest heroes of our industry are our writers. If a writer cracks a story or a screenplay, no film can go wrong. Next in line of importance comes the director, then the technicians, and finally actors".## Industry veterans observe that the content in Hindi cinema has undergone a drastic change and certain elements that attracted footfalls in the theatres have been ignored by filmmakers lately. Apart from fee correction, they believe Bollywood also needs content correction that will bring the audience back to the cinemas. Kochi, August 13 - Director Jeethu Joseph confirmed last year that Mohanlal-starrer crime thriller Drishyam 3 is in the works and now, the latest reports say that the movie will be announced soon. ## Jeethu Joseph, after the release of Drishyam 2 in February 2021, confirmed that he discussed the climax of Drishyam 3 with Mohanlal and producer Antony Perumbavoor and they liked it. The director, however, said that the movie will not go on floors anytime soon as a lot of work was yet to be done. ## Going by the latest reports, it seems that the movie will be made official in the coming days, however, there is no confirmation whether it will get on the ground this year or not. Mohanlal will return as Georgekutty along with the primary cast of the first two films. ## Drishyam 3 will be the final part of the blockbuster film series. The first part was released in 2013 while the story of the second part took place six years after the events of Drishyam.
