Los Angeles, August 4 - Warner Bros., in the quest of boosting its big event theatrical titles, has sealed the release date of the much-awaited Joker 2, to be directed by Todd Phillips. ## The sequel to this DC Comics-based psychological thriller film, titled Joker: Folie à deux, will be hitting theaters on October 4, 2024. Joaquin Phoenix, who scored his first Oscar for his performance in Joker, will be reprising his role as the DC villain. ## Interestingly, the original Joker movie also debuted on October 4 in 2019 in North America and went on to gross $1.07 billion at the worldwide box office. The film legged out to $335.4M domestic and globally it is the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time. It was also nominated for 11 Oscars and went on to win two of them. ## Meanwhile, Warner Bros. hasn't officially revealed the title of the sequel despite giving a hint of its being titled, Joker: Folie à deux, which is a French reference for a medical term pertaining to a mental disorder that affects two or more people of a family. ## As reportedly previously by The Hollywood Reporter, Lady Gaga is said to be playing Harley Quinn in Joker 2. ## As of now, the Joker sequel is on track to start filming in December this year. Mumbai, August 3 - The anticipation around Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha is building up as the release is getting nearer. The movie will have a theatrical release on August 11 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. ## "Laal Singh Chaddha" will have enough to perform at the box office as Aamir Khan is in no hurry to bring the film to OTT anytime soon. While most of the Bollywood films post-pandemic have opted for a 4-week theatrical window, "Laal Singh Chaddha" will be released on OTT only after 6 months of theatrical release. ## The superstar, in a recent interview, revealed why is not in hurry to bring the film to a digital platform. "One of the reasons primarily I think the curiosity of going to theaters has reduced because films come on OTT right after they come in theaters, they come on OTT very fast".## "So I have always tried to keep a 6-month gap for my films. I don't know what the industry follows, but I like to keep a 6-month gap. So that’s what I tried to do for all my films and up till now, we have managed that", he added. ## Aamir is right in what he thinks about changing the mindset of the producers and moviegoers. Theater owners across the country have been speaking against this current model and have been asking for at least 8 weeks gap between theatrical and OTT releases of films. Mumbai, August 2 - Film producer Jackky Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment has burst down another major rumor regarding the upcoming big-budget movie, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. Ali Abbas Zafar is on board to write and direct this action entertainer. ## Jackky Bhagnani was responding to a report which states that the film was almost put on backburners due to budget issues. The report says that the makers have reworked on budget of the film and have been able to cut down at least 100 crores, including the 50% pay cut for Akshay Kumar and almost 30% each for Tiger and Ali Abbas Zafar. ## Reacting to the report, Jackky called this development completely incorrect and said that the movie was never going to be shelved. The producer confirmed that action will begin soon as the movie was always on track. Los Angeles, August 2 - Actor Chris Hemsworth's Thor: Love and Thunder has been in theaters for almost a month and has grossed over $660 million worldwide so far. However, the film has scored another benchmark, which the makers would have liked to avoid.## The 4th installment of Thor, "Love and Thunder" has become the lowest-rated film in the franchise and the second-lowest rated film in the entirety of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At the time of writing this article, the film has a 65% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes from 408 reviews. ## The highest-rated film in this superhero franchise is "Thor: Ragnarok" (93 percent), followed by "Thor" (77 percent) as the second best-rated film and "Thor: The Dark World" at number 3 with 66% rating. In the MCU, the only Marvel Studios flick with a worse rating is "Eternals" with a 47% score from 398 critics. ## Most importantly, despite the poor reviews, the film has managed to stay in theaters.
