Hyderabad, March 19 - S S Rajamouli, who is gearing up for the release of "RRR" on March 25, will next be teaming up with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu for the first time. Touted to be a jungle adventure film, the project is currently scripting stage and will go on floors next year. ## While Rajamouli's film with Mahesh Babu is yet to be announced officially, there have been a lot of rumours regarding its cast, and plot details. In one of the recent media articles, it was reported that SSMB29 will also be a multistarrer just like "RRR".## During the media interaction today (March 19), Rajamouli has put all those rumours about the film's multi-star casting and said that there will be only one star in the film and that is Mahesh Babu. There are no such plans (as of now) to bring another top star onboard. However, it is said that Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt is in talks with Rajamouli to star opposite SSMB in the film. ## SSMB29 will be Mahesh Babu's first Pan-India flick as it will be released in multiple languages. Rajamouli has had great success in Hindi with "Baahubali" films and his "RRR" is also expected to do very well outside the Telugu version. ## Mahesh Babu, meanwhile, will next be seen in Telugu actioner "Sarkaru Vaari Paata", which will be released on May 12 this year. Box Office: The Batman Takes A Slow Start In China Amid Covid-19 Surge

Mumbai, March 19 - Warner Bros.' one of the most talked-about films, "The Batman" debuted in the biggest movie market in the world, China, on March 18. ## With the Robert Pattinson-fronted superhero film ruling the worldwide box office, the studio had hoped for the same in China as well, but that was not the case this time. From the last few days, China is witnessing a sudden rise in the covid-19 cases, forcing the closure of some cinema halls. ## While it is true that Hollywood films have struggled at the box office of late in China, "The Batman" was still expected to take a decent to a good start. However, contrary to the huge expectations, the film opened to a worryingly slow start on Friday, grossing $3.7 million, as per Hollywood trade expert Luiz Fernando. ## The opening of "The Batman" in China is low compared to "A Quiet Place" ($3.9M), and "Free Guy" ($5.2M), which were released in 2021. The movie, however, did surpass "Avatar's" re-release last year with a $3.5M opening. "The Batman" also outscored Tom Holland's recently released "Uncharted" ($2M). ## China is one of the key markets for the "Batman" franchise. The previous Batman films have reasonably done well in China. Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" earned $53 million in 2012 while "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" scored $97 million in 2016. Even "Justice League", which was not received well by the critics, grossed $106 million in China in 2017. ## According to Variety, "The Batman" will struggle to even come close to these aforementioned films with the film is currently tracking an RMB215 million ($34 million) lifetime total in China. The film showed improvement on Saturday, but it is unlikely to make any change in the lifetime forcast. ## Keeping aside China, "The Batman" is going very well in other domestic and international markets. It has grossed $516 million after two weeks at the box office. Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, who play the lead roles in "RRR", admit that they were upset by the helmsman's lack of empathy while on the sets. ## In one of the recent promotional videos of "RRR", the actors complained that they had to deal with the tough demands of Rajamouli, who leave no stone unturned to make the film perfect. "Rajamouli does not show any empathy while on the sets. Even if Charan or I had small issues, he would make us join the shoot, and complete the task", Jr. NTR said. ## Ram Charan also said recalling an on-set incident. "I was not feeling well and Rajamouli still wanted me to come down and start shooting. He said that a thousand people have come down to work on the sets, so it will be a waste of money if I didn't show up". ## In response, Rajamouli said, "I have to control myself not to show empathy. If I start showing empathy and stop the show even for one day, it will cause huge damage to the production house". ## "RRR", which also stars Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn in key roles along with others, is scheduled to release on March 25th in theaters worldwide. Mumbai, March 18 - The worldwide audience likes comic book movies, and "The Batman" is the latest example of that. The DC superhero movie, starring Robert Pattinson in the title role, has soared past $500 million worldwide, becoming the second 2022 title to reach the figure after China's "Water Gate Bridge" ($632M). ## The Matt Reeves-directed started the international rollout in Korea on March 1 ahead of the domestic (North America) debut on March 4. Through Thursday (March 17), the Warner Bros. movie has grossed $258.3 million at the domestic box office and $247.5 million internationally for $505.8 million worldwide. ## "The Batman" has become the highest-grossing Warner Bros. movie since the start of the covid-19 pandemic, surpassing "Godzilla vs. Kong's" $468.2 million. It is undoubtedly the biggest film for the company and Dr. Gada is hopeful that it will become a big hit. ## When asked if "RRR" can repeat the success of Rajamouli's last film and the all-time blockbuster "Baahubali - The Conclusion, the filmmaker said, "When Baahubali 2 did that sort of business, our life was different.
