Mumbai, August 12, 2021: Bollywood's Mr. perfectionist, Aamir Khan has expressed concern over films releasing directly on digital platforms, ditching theaters. In the last and a half years, many Bollywood films including Laxmii, Sadak 2, Shershaah, Shakuntla Devi, among others have gone to direct OTT release. Ajay Devgn's Bhuj: The Pride of India is also ready for Disney Plus Hotstar release on August 13. ## While some more films are gearing up for OTT release, Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom has sealed the theatrical release worldwide on August 19 and it brought joy among theater owners as it will kick off the unlocking of cinemas. Aamir Khan, however, admitted that theaters can only be open if the health situation in the country improves and that people get vaccinated.## At an event recently, Aamir Khan was quoted as saying, "Some films are releasing on OTT platforms, and as a film person, I am very concerned. I hope in the near future things will improve. It is not easy to talk about reopening cinema halls. Theatres can be opened up only when the health situation improves, and we control the Covid-19 situation as a society, we are all trying and working on it. As more and more people get vaccinated things will get better". ## Meanwhile, as cinemas are reopening gradually, more and more films are executed to announce the release date, and it has begun as Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer mystery thriller, Chehre, will be the second Hindi film after Bell Bottom to hit the big screen. Mumbai, August 11, 2021: Earlier in May this year, director R Balki announced his next film with Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan. The yet-to-be-titled psychological thriller is written by R Balki and co-written by Rishi Virmani and Raja Sen. Now, the makers have brought a respectable cast on board to join Salmaan. ## As reported earlier, Sunny Deol has been confirmed to lead the cast along with Shreya Dhanwanthary, and Pooja Bhatt while Dulquer was already confirmed. The film marks R Balki's first collaboration with all four actors and the filmmaker is excited to shoot on the project after a long time. Balki last directed the 2018 National Award-winning drama Pad Man starring Akshay Kumar. ## "After months of waiting, for me, it is exciting to start shooting anything. And to make a film in a genre that I haven't attempted before is even more exciting. I have had the idea for a long time but never quite got around to writing it, and while it's fundamentally a thriller, it banks so much on these four stunning performers. I just can't wait to get into the edit room", Balki said in a statement.## Sunny Deol, who is widely known for doing action films, is returning to films after Blank (2019). Even versatile actor Ranbir Kapoor was reportadly finalized by Basu, however, things couldn't move forward due to various complications in the making. ## Now, things are falling in place and the biopic of Kishore Kumar is finally in the work. Amit Kumar, the son of the late singer, has taken the decision along with his family to produce and direct the biopic on the life and times of Kishore Kumar. Amit Kumar is himself a gifted and renowned singer and has acted in several films directed by and starring his father. ## "It was always my intention that we do the biopic. After all who knows him (Kishore Kumar) better than his family?. We're about to start shooting the interviews with our family about my father", says Amit Kumar adding that the movie will take time to roll out. ## "We know that the script will take at least a year to develop. It's a lot of hard work, and a long journey ahead", he added. ## There were reports that Ayushmann Khurrana had expressed his desire to play the celebrated role. Mumbai, August 11, 2021: Filmmaker Amar Kaushik's thriller project, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga, which was supposed to take off in 2017 with John Abraham and Rajkummar Rao and producers Prerna Arora and Arjun N Kapoor, has reportedly been revived with a new cast and team. ## According to Peepingmoon.com, Sunny Kaushal and Yami Gautam have been finalized to play the lead in this reanimated version of the film that has been written by Siraj Ahmed who recently wrote Srijit Mukherji's short film in Netflix anthology Ray starring Ali Fazal and Shweta Basu Prasad. ## Amar Kaushik, however, will reportadly not be directing Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga anymore, instead, he will work as a creative producer on this film while the directorial duty has been given to Ajay Singh, better known as Ajax. Kaushik is collaborating with producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films to back this thriller based on a diamond heist. ## Interestingly, both Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal are already working on revived projects after they were earlier shelved due to various reasons. The actor, who debuted in 2000's X-Men adaptation in the fierce role of Logan aka Wolverine, quickly became a fan favorite and went on to star in both sequels X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand. ## The character was loved by the audiences to an extent that he went on to appear in three Wolverine solo films, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Wolverine, and X-Men: Days of Future Past before getting to star in his final solo film, Logan. However, Jackman's character had a tragic end, signaling the end of an era.## With Marvel Studios going to explore the multiverse in its phase 4 movies, there were speculations that Wolverine could appear in the MCU. However, it seems that there is nothing left for Wolverine in the franchise. In an interview with SR promoting his upcoming film Reminiscence, Jackman was asked about whether or not he would return to the role of Wolverine in the MCU. ## Expressing his gratitude towards MCU and his relationship with Marvel chief Kevin Feige, Jackman said that he is grateful for the role of Wolverine and calls it "the role of a lifetime". Jee Le Zaraa: Priyanka Chopra Recalls Approaching Farhan Akhtar With Alia Bhatt And Katrina Kaif To Helm An All Female-Led Film

Mumbai, August 10, 2021: Earlier in the day (August 10), Farhan Akhtar announced his next film that will mark her directorial return after Don 2 (2021). Led by an all-female cast including Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif, the movie titled, Jee Le Zaraa, will be a road-trip film that will go on floors in mid next year and will hit cinemas in 2023. ## A few hours after the movie announcement, Priyanka Chopra took to Instagram and recalled that it was a movie that was planned last year in February before the covid-19 pandemic forced a strict nationwide lockdown. She shared a picture with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif which was clicked in February 2020 when they first met to discuss a film with an all-female cast. ## Priyanka Chopra revealed that she wanted to do a very different Hindi film as soon as possible after The Sky Is Pink, and called up her 2 real friends, Katrina and Alia to discuss the same. They approached Farhan with the idea who was coincidentally planning a female road trip movie at the same time. ## "Let's rewind, to me musing about wanting to do another Hindi movie ASAP, on an unusually rainy night in Mumbai in Nov 2019", PC wrote on Insta. "But it had to be the right one - different, cool, never been done before… I thought. The idea grew into a movie helmed by an all-female cast. There are not enough Hindi movies that are female multi-starrers. This led to an impulsive phone call… to my 2 real friends about this idea that involved 3 on-screen girlfriends. A celebration of friendship we called it!!". ## "Katrina, Alia, and I enthusiastically met in February 2020 (as seen in this picture), just before the world shut down, to discuss who we could trust to bring this vision to life for us and our choice was unanimous… Farhan and Ritesh, Zoya and Reema. We had all worked with @excelmovies and @tigerbabyfilms individually so this seemed perfect. It just so happened that Farhan was working on a female road trip movie at the same time! Talk about all the stars aligning!!", she added. ## "And here we are today… #JeeLeZaraa… it only took 3 years to align all our schedules but we stuck together and got it done! ICC Confirms To Bid For Cricket's Inclusion In The 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

Mumbai, August 10, 2021: Cricket has been waiting to be included in Olympics for more than a century now. And now, the wait could see an end in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics as the International Cricket Council (ICC), on Tuesday (August 10), confirmed that it will bid for cricket's inclusion in the games. ## The international cricket body has been making a case for cricket's inclusion in Olympics for a while now and it will also have backing from the richest cricket board BCCI as made clear by Secretary Jay Shah recently. The last time cricket was a part of the Olympics was in 1900, when Great Britain played France. And now, the world's one of the most followed sport, cricket could become a permanent fixture in the games with the ICC hoping to see it included in Brisbane 2032 as well and beyond. ## Earlier, the BCCI was not too keen on cricket's including in the Olympic games as it feared the loss of its autonomy and interference from the Indian Olympic Association (IOC). However, things changed after Jay Shah took charge of the Board. He was recently quoted as the BCCI being on the same page with the ICC on the matter. ## ICC chairman Greg Barclay said, "Firstly on behalf of everyone at the ICC, I would like to congratulate the IOC, Tokyo 2020, and the people of Japan for staging such an incredible Games in such difficult circumstances. It truly was fantastic to watch and captured the imagination of the world and we would love for cricket to be a part of future Games". ## "Our sport is united behind this bid. And we see the Olympics as a part of cricket's long-term future. We have more than a billion fans globally and almost 90 percent of them want to see cricket at the Olympics. Clearly, cricket has a strong and passionate fanbase, particularly in South Asia where 92% of our fans come from, whilst there are also 30 million cricket fans in the USA. The opportunity for those fans to see their heroes competing for an Olympic medal is tantalizing". ## "We believe cricket would be a great addition to the Olympic Games, but we know it won't be easy to secure our inclusion as there are so many other great sports out there wanting to do the same. But we feel now is the time to put our best foot forward and show what a great partnership cricket and the Olympics could be", Barclay added. ## ECB chairman Ian Watmore will lead the ICC Olympic Working Group and he will be joined by the ICC independent director Indra Nooyi, chairman of Zimbabwe Cricket Tavengwa Mukuhlani, ICC Associate member director and vice-president of the Asian Cricket Council Mahinda Vallipuram and chair of USA Cricket Paraag Marathe, who believes the time is ripe for an Olympic bid. ## Stay tuned...
