Mumbai, July 10, 2021: After months of speculations, two of the very talented actor of Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan has been confirmed to star in the Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster movie, Vikram Vedha. Not only that but the makers also confirmed that the movie will be hitting theaters on 30 September 2022. ## The release date announcement of the Vikram Vedha Hindi remake has set up a potential box office clash with Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal. The makers of Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial had already announced that Animal will be making its debut on Dussehra 2022 (October 5). ## Both the movie, as of now, will release a week apart and if the makers of both Vikram Vedha remake and Animal go ahead with their pre-planned release dates, then the fans are surely on a treat for something special. However, there is nothing certain as the present situation might change the dynamics for both films. But, one can hope that things will become completely normal by then and they will get to witness one of the biggest box office clashes of the year. ## Talking about Vikram Vedha, the director duo Pushkar-Gayathri, who impressed the Tamil audience with the R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi starrer, will now helm the Hindi version with Hrithik and Saif in the lead roles. The Tamil action-thriller released in 2017 and received a positive response at the box office.## The movie was inspired by the Indian folktale Baital Pachisi. The film tells the story of Vikram (Madhavan), a police inspector who sets out to track down and kill Vedha (Sethupathi), a gangster. After Vedha voluntarily surrenders himself, he tells Vikram three stories that change his perceptions of good and evil. The film, also starring Shraddha Srinath, was produced by S Sashikanth. ## On the other hand, Animal is a crime drama film starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. The movie will also star debonair Anil Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, and Bobby Deol in the prominant roles. Los Angeles, July 10, 2021: The Thor: Love and Thunder actor, Matt Damon, may be one of the biggest Hollywood stars, but he will still be known for rejecting one of the biggest movies ever made, and with that, a golden chance to become an overnight millionaire. ## The 50-year-old actor taught a master class at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday and revealed how he had turned down the lead role in mega-blockbuster Avatar, despite James Cameron offering him a chunk of the film's profits. ## "I was offered a little movie called 'Avatar'," the star revealed, according to Deadline". [Director] James Cameron offered me 10% of it". For the record, Avatar is the highest-grossing movie ever with $2.8 billion at the box office. ## "I will go down in history… you will never meet an actor who turned down more money", Damon continued at Cannes where his crime drama film, Stillwater premiered. ## When someone in the audience pointed out that James Cameron is well underway on his sequels to the movie, Damon joked, "There are sequels? Oh my god". Everyone Working On Netflix's Anthology Series, Navarasa, Hasn't Taken A Professional Fee

Chennai, July 9, 2021: Netflix has unveiled the much-awaited teaser of the Tamil anthology web series, "Navarasa", created by the ace filmmaker, Mani Ratnam. The 9-episodes series stars some of the biggest names of the South Indian cinema such as Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Fahadh Faasil, Arvind Swami, Prakash Raj, Anjali, among others. ## Unlike the other shows and films, Navarasa has been made for a noble cause. As we all know, the covid-19 pandemic had left the film industries in a bad shape as workers who form the bulk of it were struggling to make their ends meet. It was then that Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan along with the rest of the team thought of raising funds by making a series and generate funds to support those in the film industry who have been affected by the COVID19 crisis. ## It is to be noted that the artists, technicians, and directors working on the series are contributing towards the film without remuneration, with only the costs of production being associated. The profits earned from the project will be donated to the members of the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI), who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. ## Mani Ratnam, in a conversation with Sreedhar Pillai for sify.com, said that they are close to reaching their target between Rs 12 to 15 Crores, which will go directly to the worker and his family. They are working with Bhumika Trust which was set up for disaster relief management, and have issued individual credit cards to all workers. ## In the process, the team started distributing prepaid cards to the workers from the end of March 2021 onwards, with each beneficiary receiving ₹ 1,500 per month on the prepaid card for a period of five months, which can be utilized at grocery outlets. Nearly 12,000 workers in the film industry will benefit from it. ## Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan, who are producing the series under their respective banners Madras Talkies and Qube Cinema Technologies, had initially thought of releasing the anthology in theaters. However, due to the closer of cinemas because of the covid-19 pandemic and each part of the anthology being 30-40 minutes long, a theatrical release was not possible. It will now premiere on Netflix on August 6. ## Navarasas is based on the Indian concept of the 9 human emotions or 'rasas' - anger, compassion, courage, disgust, fear, laughter, love, peace, and wonder. Los Angeles, July 9, 2021: Universal Pictures has signed a landmark deal with sister streaming service Peacock for its upcoming films. Starting 2022, all Universal movies will be heading to Peacock no later than four months after they open in theaters. ## The new deal will allow Peacock to stream Universal films such as Jurassic World and the new Halloween movie, among others to premiere them within four months after their theatrical release, as well as within the final four months of an 18-month window. ## On the other hand, Amazon Prime Video and IMDb TV have also reached a multi-year licensing agreement with Universal Filmed Entertainment Group that will give the streamers access to blockbusters like F9 and Jurassic World: Dominion after they stream on Peacock, in a total of 18-months window. ## Universal said the traditional 18-month window would be divided between Peacock and other partners, as follows: For the first and last four months, Universal movies will play exclusively on Peacock; for the intervening 10 months, they will be made available to Prime Video and IMDb TV. ## Under the Amazon deal, IMDb TV — Amazon's free streaming service — will also have AVOD and SVOD rights to titles like Dolittle, The Invisible Man, F9, and Sing 2, as well as animated titles like Despicable Me 2, How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Shrek 2.## The new deals between Universal Pictures and streamers, come in light of the effect, the covid-19 pandemic has made. Before the pandemic era, movies didn't go to streamers before six to seven months of their theatrical run. Satyadev's Legal Crime Thriller Film, Thimmarusu To Release On July 30 In Theaters

Hyderabad, July 8, 2021: After four back-to-back digital releases, talented Telugu actor Satya Dev's next film will be a theatrical one. The movie, titled "Thimmarasu" is all set to release in theaters on July 30. ## The legal crime thriller film is going to be the first Telugu cinema to hit the cinema halls post the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. Directed by Sharan Koppisetty, Thimmarusu is the remake of the 2019 Kannada film Birbal Trilogy Case 1: Finding Vajramuni which itself was based on the 2017 Korean movie New Trial.## Produced by Mahesh S Koneru and Yarabolu Srujan under East Coast Productions, S Originals, the movie tipped to be a legal crime thriller. It also stars Priyanka Jawalkar and Ajay in the prominant roles. Sricharan Pakala has composed the music of the film. ## Satyadev was last seen in the Netflix anthology drama film, Pitta Kathalu. Mumbai, July 7, 2021: The Canadian film director and writer, Richie Mehta, who created and directed the International Emmy-winning Netflix series "Delhi Crime", has come on board for a web series based on the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy. Mehta comes on board as writer, director, and showrunner for this show. ## Based on Dominique Lapierre and Javier Moro's 1997 book, "Five Past Midnight in Bhopal: The Epic Story of the World's Deadliest Industrial Disaster", the series will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies and Ramesh Krishnamoorthy's Global One Studios. ## The Bhopal disaster, also referred to as the Bhopal gas tragedy, was a gas leak incident on the night of 2–3 December 1984 at the Union Carbide India Limited (UCIL) pesticide plant in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. It is considered among the world's worst industrial disasters. Over 500,000 people were exposed to methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas. The highly toxic substance made its way into and around the small towns located near the plant. ## The makers have not yet signed up the series to a streaming or broadcast partner. According to Ronnie Screwvala, the makers are quite happy that they want to develop this series completely on their own, go with their own conviction, and go to somebody who buys into the makers' vision rather than being a bit of a mishmash of everyone. ## The series, which is likely to consist of six to eight one-hour episodes, is in development and will commence production in early 2022. RSVP's Sanaya Irani Zohrabi, Krishnamoorthy, and Mehta will serve as executive producers.
