Disney Plus Hotstar has announced the release date of the most-awaited Bollywood movie, Laxmmi Bomb, and put an end on all the speculation surrounded by this. Raghava Lawrence, who had helmed the original, will be making his Hindi directorial debut with this one. The film also stars Kiara Advani, Tusshar Kapoor, Sharad Kelkar, Ashwini Kalsekar, and many others.## Earlier, on June 29, Disney+Hotstar had signed a multi-million deal and begged 7 Bollywood movies including Laxmi Bomb, and Ajay Devgn starrer Bhuj. Laxmi Bomb was supposed to premiere during the month of September, however, due to IPL and some other reasons, the OTT giant decided against it. ## With the release date now confirmed, Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi will now clash with Laxmmi Bomb on Diwali. Actor Aditya Roy Kapur and Tara Sutaria who were supposed to team up in the Mohit Suri's 'Ek Villian 2' will now work together in Ahmed Khan Production's next film. According to reports Malang star, Aditya Roy Kapur has signed the film that has reportedly been titled 'Om'.## According to a source quoted in Bollywood Hungama, "It's an action-packed film with a strong undercurrent of romance and the makers are all set to take it on floors around November. The recce and pre-production work is in progress right now, and Adi plays the titular character of Om in the film".## As per the report, Ahmed Khan was himself wanted to direct the film but due to his Heropanti 2 commitment with Tiger Shroff in lead, he has decided to bankroll 'Om' instead of directing it which will go on floors around Diwali this year.## Talking about the leading lady, the source confirmed that Tara Sutaria has liked the script and all set to pair with Aditya Roy Kapur in this action entertainer. "The leading lady is Tara Sutaria. She was to work with Adi in Ek Villain 2, however, after Adi's exit, the pair couldn't be explored there. But the makers of Om felt that Adi and Tara would bring forward a fresh dynamic in the story".## As reported earlier, the audience was excited and looking forward to seeing the fresh pairing of Aditya and Tara in Mohit Suri's 'Ek Villain 2'. Amid the ongoing tensions in Bollywood, one of the largest film industries in the world, veteran actress and politician, Jaya Bachchan yesterday broke her silence and expressed her utter disappointment on the continuous attack on the film industry, in the parliament. ## It all started with actor Sushant Singh Rajput's mysterious death which is currently being probed by 3 different government bodies – ED, CBI, and the NCB. However, the focus has completely now shifted on NCB which is investigating the drug angle in the industry and has already arrested several people including an actress Rhea Chakraborty. ## Yesterday, on the second day of the Monsoon Session in Parliament, Mrs. Bachchab had given a Zero Hour notice in Rajya Sabha where she had spoken about an alleged conspiracy to defame the film industry by taking an indirect jibe on Kangana Ranaut and actor-politician, Ravi Kishan. She had said in her speech, "jis thaali me khaate hai, usi thaali me ched karte hai" which left the celebrities and netizens divided.## Now, the Mahabharat actor Mukesh Khanna has reacted to Jaya Bachchan's statement. In an interview with Republic TV, the actor said, "Let me tell you one thing, someone very rightly said, ‘Bollywood gutter nahi hai, Bollywood me jo gutter hai..' It makes a difference. Nobody is condemning the whole industry, but one bad fish will spoil the whole lake. The Central Crime Branch had allegedly begun their probe into the drug trafficking case and have arrested several people so far. ## On Tuesday (September 15), Karnataka Police conducted searches at former Karnataka minister late Jeevaraj Alva's son Aditya Alva, who is also the brother-in-law of Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi.## Aditya Alva is named one of the 12 accused in the Sandalwood drug scandal.## Speaking to India Today, joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) said, "Search warrant was taken and search being conducted at Aditya Alva house near Hebbal called 'House of Lives'."## The development comes a day after Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi arrested last week in the police crackdown against drug abuse in the film industry. Veteran actress and Samajwadi Party MP, Jaya Bachchan has slammed the people who have been trying to defame the Bollywood film industry since the sad demise of a brilliant actor Sushant Singh Rajput.## Jaya Bachchan spoke about an alleged "conspiracy to defame the film industry" on the second day of the Monsoon Session in Parliament. She had given a Zero Hour notice in Rajya Sabha, which can be raised for critical matters with the approval of the Speaker. ## "People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that the government tells such people not to use this kind of language", Jaya said on Tuesday, according to Hindustan Times. ## Previously, actor Kangana Ranaut had called the film industry a "gutter" and alleged that 99% of the people who work in it have been procuring and consuming drugs. ## "Just because there are some people, you can't tarnish the image of the entire industry. I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it. It is a shame", she added, referring to comments made by BJP MP Ravi Kishan on Monday (September 14). ## "A conspiracy is being hatched to destroy the country's youth and our neighboring countries are adding to it. The smuggling of drugs from Pakistan and China is being carried out every year. It is being brought via Punjab and Nepal. Drug addiction is in the film industry too. Several people have been apprehended. The NCB has been doing very good work. I urge the central government to take strict action against the culprits soon. Coming as a significant development, the names of Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Simone Khambatta have apparently emerged in the Narcotics Control Bureau's (NCB) probe into the drugs angle surrounding the mysterious death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, official sources said here on Monday, as reported by IANS. ## Though NCB Deputy Director K.P.S. Malhotra confirmed the names of the above celebrities, he denied media speculation of the agency having prepared a so-called 'hit-list' of 25 Bollywood personalities in connection with the probe as it was reported by a few news channels. ## Yesterday, the NCB officials had denied that Rhea named Sara, Rakul, and Simone during the probe but within 24 hours, the officials came up with a new twist and said that the names of these 3 came out in the investigation. ## According to Zee News, Rhea in her confession told NCB that Sara Ali Khan had accompanied Sushant Singh Rajput and other friends to Thailand. It is to be noted that Rhea while speaking to a news channel, had stated that Sushant used to live his life like a king-size and had spent Rs 70 lakh on an all-boys' trip to Thailand. ## Over a dozen persons have been arrested by the NCB so far, including Sushant’s ex-girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, and several drug peddlers, narco-dealers, and suppliers.## While Rhea, Showik, and others have been sent to judicial custody, some of the drug peddlers have been remanded to NCB custody.## Stay tuned...
