Box Office: 'Don' Set To Become Biggest Grosser For Sivakarthikeyan
Chennai, May 23 - Tamil movie Don is all set to become the biggest grosser ever for actor Sivakarthikeyan whose popularity is on the rise. It has been a dream box office run for, Don, so far and it isn't looking to slow down anytime soon.



Directed by debutante Cibi Chakaravarthi, Don, will become only the second movie for Sivakarthikeyan to enter Rs. 100 crores worldwide gross club. It has grossed approx. 89 crores worldwide in just 10 days, including Rs. 69 crores at the domestic box office in both Tamil and Telugu languages. In Chennai city, Don has scored 6.15 crores, which is a fantastic result. Overseas, it has minted approx. 20 crores.





The coming-of-age romantic comedy is one of the biggest grosser of 2022 in Tamil Nadu state. Through second Sunday, it has grossed 58 crores in the home state and is likely to add 10-15 crores more to its tally before Kamal Haasan's biggie, Vikram, arrives on June 3rd.





Don will become the biggest scorer for Siva, by surpassing his last year's blockbuster, Doctor. The Nelson Dilipkumar-directed movie had grossed a little over 100 crores worldwide upon its release in October 2021. Don will breach this record during its 3rd weekend and will also become the fastest for Siva to reach the milestone.





Produced by Lyca Productions, and Sivakarthikeyan Productions, the movie stars Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead opposite Sivakarthikeyan and this is her second film with him, after "Doctor". Apart from the lead pair, the movie also features S. J. Suryah, Samuthirakani, and Soori in pivotal roles. Anirudh Ravichander has scored the music, with cinematography and editing done by K. M. Bhaskaran and Nagooran respectively.

From Sankranti to Diwali, major stars and big-budget productions have strategically positioned themselves to capitalise on long weekends and nationwide holidays, setting the stage for an intense box office battle year. The year kicks off with a bang on Makar Sankranti with superstar Rajinikanth's Thalaivar 173, expected to be one of the biggest openers of the year. Just days later, the Republic Day weekend (January 21) will see long-delayed Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal's Love And War hit cinemas, ensuring a strong start to the year with back-to-back major releases.
