Pictures and Legendary Pictures have announced the official first look title of its next Monsterverse film, the sequel to Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024). ## Directed by Grant Sputore, the film has been titled as Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, and it is currently in production. The movie will hit the big screen on March 26, 2027, the studio re-confirmed its previous release date announcement. ## Along with the title announcement, a short teaser was also released, which shows an office for Monarch, the shadowy organisation that tracks the gigantic, city-destroying monsters called Titans, where a computer gives a real-life hotline that fans can call to receive an automated message. Los Angeles, June 29 - Warner Bros. Pictures has set a holiday release for the Dune director, Denis Villeneuve's next feature, described as an "event film". The studio announced that it will hit screens on December 18, 2026, and be produced by Legendary Pictures.## Villeneuve last directed, Dune: Part 2 which was a mega hit. The details about the filmmaker's next have not been revealed yet but it was recently reported that that he was working on a nuclear war and that Dune 3 would not be his immediate next. ## Even though the filmmaker stated that he would not touch Dune anytime soon, The Hollywood Reporter reports that Villeneuve may have had a change of heart and could be turning his attention back to finishing this sci-fi adventure franchise, before taking up the nuclear war movie. ## Dune 2, released in March this year, was a mega box office hit with $711 million worldwide against a budget of $190 million. The latest blockbuster has minted $196.3 million (1640 crores) in North America and $373.7 million (2120 crores) at the overseas box office. ## Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is the highest-grossing MonsterVerse film in as many as 35 markets, including India where it has grossed 134 crores ($16 million). Studios, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter.## According to THR, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings screenwriter Dave Callaham has been roped in to write the script for Godzilla x Kong's follow-up.
