During the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, Zelina Vega approached Adam Pearce, requesting a WWE SmackDown Women's Title match against Rhea Ripley at Backlash. Pearce granted her request, and the highly-anticipated match was officially added to the event. Vega and Ripley have been fierce rivals, as members of the opposing factions LWO and Judgment Day.
In addition, fans can look forward to a highly-anticipated showdown between Seth Rollins and Omos, as well as an intense triple threat match for the WWE United States Championship. Austin Theory, the current title holder, will defend his championship against Bobby Lashley and Bronson Reed in what promises to be an electrifying match.
Theory recently squared off against Lashley on Monday's episode of WWE Raw, but their match ended in a no contest when Reed interfered, setting up this highly-anticipated rematch.
