Avengers: Endgame Encore Sets New Re-Release Pre-Sales Record, Surpasses Titanic 3D

Mumbai, August 26 - Avengers: Endgame Encore has already created a new box office milestone even before returning to theatres. Just hours after tickets went on sale in North America, the Marvel blockbuster reportedly registered the biggest first-day pre-sales for a theatrical re-release this century, surpassing the previous benchmark set by Titanic 3D.

The record is particularly significant given the unprecedented popularity of Avengers: Endgame, which was the highest-grossing film of all time worldwide until it was overtaken by Avatar. The re-release is scheduled to hit theatres on September 25, 2026, giving Marvel fans another opportunity to experience the blockbuster on the big screen ahead of Avengers: Doomsday.

The Titanic 3D re-release had been the strongest re-release performer in terms of pre-sales in the 21st century. Meanwhile, the overall domestic record for a theatrical re-release is held by Star Wars: A New Hope, whose 1997 Special Edition earned approximately $138.2 million in North America. That figure refers to the film's total domestic re-release gross and should not be confused with a pre-sales record.

The strong early response to Endgame Encore is also being driven by the promise of new footage, with the re-release expected to add material connecting the events of Endgame to the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. That gives the film an additional selling point beyond nostalgia, particularly for Marvel fans eager for clues about the next Avengers movie.

With Endgame Encore already surpassing Titanic 3D to claim the biggest first-day re-release pre-sales record of the century, attention will now turn to its opening weekend. If the current momentum continues, Marvel could potentially deliver one of the biggest theatrical re-release runs in modern box office history.
