Mumbai, August 26 - Emraan Hashmi has registered the biggest theatrical milestone of his career with Awarapan 2, as the romantic action drama has crossed the 200 crore mark worldwide. The sequel has not only emerged as a major box office success but has also become Hashmi's first film to enter the 200 crore worldwide club as a solo lead.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film has maintained strong momentum since its release, benefiting from positive audience word of mouth and the nostalgia surrounding the Awarapan franchise. Despite facing competition in the crowded August release calendar, Awarapan 2 has continued to attract audiences in both domestic and overseas markets.
For Emraan Hashmi, the achievement is particularly significant given the nature of his filmography. The actor has delivered several successful films over the years, but none had managed to reach the 200 crore worldwide milestone before Awarapan 2. The sequel has therefore taken his box office standing to a completely new level.
In India, the movie has grossed around 170 crores (142.75 crore net), while its overseas collection is an estimated 31.25 crores for a worldwide total of around 201 crores gross after the second Tuesday (12 days). The success also represents a remarkable turnaround for the Awarapan franchise. The 2007 original developed a strong cult following over the years despite its modest theatrical performance, and the sequel has managed to convert that long-standing audience affection into a major commercial success.
With 200 crore worldwide already achieved, Awarapan 2 is now looking to add further numbers before its theatrical run concludes. More importantly, the film has given Emraan Hashmi his biggest-ever box office achievement and established Awarapan 2 as one of the notable Hindi successes of 2026.
