Kochi / Chennai, August 27 — In an unexpectedly candid statement that has gone viral across South cinema, Malayalam star Nivin Pauly has spoken out about the prolonged filming delays on Benz, the upcoming fourth entry in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). As reported by The Indian Express, Nivin highlighted how blocked schedules have hindered his other projects.
The actor's frustration is also linked to his appearance for the film. Nivin has been maintaining a rugged, bearded look for his character, Walter, which has made it difficult for him to move on to other projects while waiting for the Benz schedule to resume. Reports suggest that approximately 30–35 days of shooting remain, despite the film having already completed a substantial portion of its production.
"I have had to maintain this heavy beard look for 8 months for Benz, forcing me to do 'Bethlehem Kudumba Unit' in the same look. I'm sick and tired of calling them asking when we are resuming," Nivin stated.
Benz is being directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan and is part of Lokesh Kanagaraj's ambitious LCU, with Raghava Lawrence headlining the project. The film has generated considerable interest because of its connection to the expanding universe and the combination of Lawrence, Nivin Pauly and the LCU brand. However, the prolonged shooting delays have now become a major talking point around the project.
