Jailer 2 Overseas Advance Booking Crosses $1 Million Ahead of Rajinikanth Starrer's Worldwide Release

Chennai, October 8 - Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 is generating strong interest in international markets ahead of its highly anticipated theatrical release. The Nelson Dilipkumar-directed action entertainer has crossed the $1 million mark in overseas advance bookings, highlighting the excitement surrounding the sequel. With the film scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 15, the early response indicates considerable demand among international audiences, particularly in North America and the Middle East.

Jailer 2 Crosses $1 Million in Overseas Pre-Sales

The film's overseas advance bookings have now surpassed the seven-figure milestone, with the United States emerging as the biggest contributor. Earlier booking data showed the USA leading the international market, followed by the UAE, the United Kingdom, Australia and several European territories. The reported collections cover bookings across multiple show dates, including premiere screenings, rather than exclusively the opening day.

The advance-booking momentum is particularly encouraging for Jailer 2, considering the enormous expectations following the success of its predecessor. The original Jailer, released in 2023, became one of Rajinikanth's biggest worldwide commercial successes, establishing a strong foundation for the sequel. The international response also underlines the actor's continuing appeal among Tamil cinema audiences outside India.

Can Jailer 2 Challenge Coolie's Overseas Opening?

The next major target for Jailer 2 will be the overseas opening benchmark established by Rajinikanth's Coolie. Coolie recorded an overseas opening of approximately $8.75 million, giving the upcoming sequel a formidable figure to chase. While crossing $1 million in advance sales is an encouraging start, it remains too early to determine whether Jailer 2 can approach that opening-day record.

Produced by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 brings Rajinikanth back as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, with Nelson Dilipkumar returning as director and Anirudh Ravichander composing the music. With the worldwide theatrical release confirmed for October 15, 2026, the coming days will be crucial in determining how much further the overseas advance can grow before the film reaches cinemas.
