Lee Cronins The Mummy is witnessing a significant slowdown as it nears the end of its second week. For the first time since its release, the daily collection has dropped below the 1 crore mark on its 13th day. This sharp decline suggests that the film is nearing the end of its theatrical run in the Indian market as it faces competition from new releases.
On its second Wednesday, the film earned 0.90 crore net in India. The gross collection for the day stood at 1.05+ crore with an overall occupancy of 11.0 per cent across 534 shows. This brings the total India net collection to 23.75 crore after 13 days. The film had managed to stay above the 1 crore threshold for twelve consecutive days before this latest drop.
In the national multiplex chains, the film recorded 5,100 ticket sales for the day. PVR led the contributions with 2,300 tickets, while INOX and Cinepolis followed with 1,770 and 1,000 tickets, respectively. The combined gross from these three major chains was 9.50 lakh, reflecting the general trend of exhaustion across major urban centres on a mid-week day.
The total India gross collection currently stands at 28.24 crore. With a cumulative show count of 10,211 since its opening day, the film has maintained a decent presence, though the current trajectory indicates it will likely struggle to add significantly more to its total in the coming days.
On the global stage, the film has seen a stronger response in international territories compared to its domestic performance in the US. According to data from Box Office Mojo, Lee Cronin's The Mummy has earned approximately $44.60 million from international markets, which accounts for nearly 65 per cent of its total business. When combined with its domestic US/Canada collection of $24.43 million, the films worldwide box office total stands at $69.03 million.
