Mark Henry Wants CM Punk vs. Kevin Owens Inside Hell in a Cell

Mark Henry believes the issues between CM Punk and Kevin Owens should go much further following their Undisputed WWE Championship fight on SmackDown, with the WWE Hall of Famer calling for the two to eventually settle their rivalry inside Hell in a Cell.

Punk successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Owens on the August 21 episode of SmackDown in Toronto, but the match did not provide a clean ending to their problems. Sami Zayn became involved late in the contest, first attempting to help Owens before ultimately using the championship belt against him. Punk capitalized and retained, leaving Punk, Owens and Zayn connected in the title picture.

Speaking on Busted Open while discussing the SmackDown match, Denise Salcedo said she wanted to see Punk and Owens take their rivalry even further, specifically mentioning Hell in a Cell. Henry agreed and wanted something closer to the dangerous presentation associated with older versions of the stipulation.

“I want the old Hell in the Cell. I want the Kane-Undertaker Hell in the Cell when every time they hit the ground, fire — remember that?”

Henry also believes there is still unfinished business between Punk and Owens. Earlier in the discussion, he suggested WWE should eventually remove Zayn from the equation and allow the two to fight again without outside interference.

“A good general manager would say, Sammy, we're going to ban you from ringside. If you are, if you come to the ring on any capacity, you're going to be banned for the rest of the year. No WrestleMania. No, I mean, I would just give him the full ride at and we're going to find out who's going to be the winner of Kevin Owens and CM Punk because they're going to do it again.”

Henry's comments came after he praised the aggression Owens showed against Punk. He felt Owens wrestled as though he had finally released feelings he had carried for years, saying that “for 20 years he held it all in and he couldn't hold it no more.”

The situation is now complicated by Zayn's involvement, while Randy Orton has also warned Punk that he wants an opportunity at the Undisputed WWE Championship once the champion finishes his current business. For Henry, however, Punk and Owens still have a score that needs a proper ending.
