BY CHRISTA LINCY
Peddi has entered its second week of theatrical run, maintaining a steady performance on its ninth day. On this second Friday, the film recorded an India gross of 6.03 crore, which reflects a standard 18.3% drop compared to the previous day's collections. This brings the cumulative domestic gross to 235.98 crore, while the India net collection now stands at 198.70 crore, moving very close to the 200 crore milestone. The film's performance on day nine was supported by 3,816 shows nationwide. In the Telugu-speaking regions, occupancy rates remained healthy in key areas, with Vizag leading at 36.3% and Hyderabad following at 28.8%. In the national theater chains, comprising PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis, the film recorded approximately 8,200 ticket sales, contributing a gross of roughly 21 lakh for the day. These figures suggest that the film is finding a consistent audience in major urban centers as it moves through its second weekend. Looking at the linguistic and regional spread, the Telugu version remains the primary driver for the film, contributing 177.50 crore to the total net collection. The Hindi market has shown a fair response with 17.92 crore, while the Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions have added 1.78 crore, 1.20 crore, and 0.30 crore respectively. When we shift the focus to state-wise gross figures, the dominance of the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region is evident with a collection of 180.55 crore. Interestingly, Karnataka has performed on par with the entire rest of the country, bringing in 24.98 crore compared to the 24.03 crore from other Indian states. Tamil Nadu contributed 5.70 crore and Kerala 0.72 crore, bringing the total domestic gross to a solid 235.98 crore. Karnataka added another 0.60 crore, while Tamil Nadu and the rest of India combined for 0.68 crore. On the international front, early estimates indicate that the overseas market added 0.50 crore on Friday, bringing the total overseas gross to 50 crore. This pushes the current worldwide gross collection to 285.98 crore after nine days of release. In terms of historical performance, Peddi has secured a position among the highest-collecting Telugu films on their second Friday. With a net collection of 4.50 crore from the Telugu version alone on day nine, the film currently ranks ninth on the all-time list for this specific record. It sits just behind They Call Him OG and slightly ahead of Devara - Part 1, demonstrating its ability to sustain interest better than many other big-ticket releases.
